New post from dev team..
Browser Demo: Your First Look at Private, Portable Digital CashAs the migration from #M0N3Y to $ZERA approaches, we're gearing up to release our browser demo - offering the first hard, tangible and testable instance of our privacy-preserving tech on
Solana devnet.
This is your first chance to experience truly private, portable digital cash firsthand. So what Is It?The browser demo is a simple web interface that showcases our core technology: turning standard tokens like USDC and SOL into private, self-contained "cryptographic notes."
Think of it like withdrawing cash from an ATM, but for the digital world. It allows you to take value off the grid, move it privately, and bring it back on-chain with its cryptographic guarantees intact.
The Practical Flow:You'll be able to test the entire lifecycle of a private note with a few simple steps:
1️⃣ DepositSend devnet USDC or SOL from your wallet into the ZERA protocol through our web UI.
2️⃣ CreateThe protocol instantly converts your deposit into a private, encrypted and sharable note file with your balance.
3️⃣ Split and/or transferYou can split the note to send only part of your balance, and transfer this using QR code or move the encrypted note file to another device using any medium you choose: email, USB, DM etc. The note is a self-sovereign bearer asset.
4️⃣ RedeemOn a second device, the recipient scans the QR code or uploads the note file to the UI and this becomes your private balance, now it’s possible to redeems whole or parts of it back into USDC in a completely different wallet.
The most important part is what you won't see on-chain. A block explorer will only show two independent events: Wallet A depositing tokens and Wallet B withdrawing tokens if the recipient choose to do so.
The link between them is cryptographically broken. By splitting notes before redemption, even the amount and timing can be fully obscured, making the transaction trail impossible to follow.
Why allow Manual Downloads? It's important to clarify that the manual download/upload process is a specific, intentional feature of this browser demo.
We chose this method because it's the fastest way to prove the technology's offline capabilities.
It demonstrates that the notes are truly portable bearer assets that don't rely on any centralized backend or continuous connectivity to move between users.
In the ZERA wallets, this process will be seamless and integrated into a standard "Send" function. Transfers will happen instantly thought simple wallet-to-wallet transactions, or via NFC tap-to-pay, Bluetooth, or QR codes. The sharable function will still remain as an easy way to send crypto using email or DMs etc.
The Future of Digital CashThis demo validates the core of our mission: creating digital cash that has the privacy and portability of physical money, but backed by the unbreakable settlement guarantees of cryptography.
The browser demo is a crucial step, proving that private, peer-to-peer value transfer of digital assets at scale is not just a theory - it's a reality we are actively building.
Get ready to see the future of private digital cash in action.
