In my opinion they varies on the RTP of the game. Low cost casino might offer higher RTP on all of their games since they have less operating cost than luxurious casino. It’s same with online casino that offers different bonuses and higher RTP on games.

I can say that recently I went on vacation and stayed at a hotel that had a luxurious casino. Of course, I went there only once, but I left a large sum of money. Do I regret it? Not at all. The experience was worth every dollar spent, the setting, the beauty, the atmosphere, show program all gave me positive emotions that I will cherish for a lifetime. That’s why I believe the level of the establishment really matters. If I had gone into a simple casino, and left that same amount there, I’d be biting my elbows and probably would have quit playing. Yes, comfort is a deal breaker for me and I think for the most of us. I think you're discussing mostly about the physical casinos and it's normal for a gambler to find comfort in a place where he gambles. Comfort in a way on how he's going with it because not all gamblers have that sensitivity to these cases. As long as the casino that they're playing in is allowing them to gamble, to bet and have fun, for the not sensitive gamblers, comfort isn't their priority. Of course. I would not even bother going into casino that has only slots and old creaking chairs. I would not gambling in a place with old slots machines, tables, worn furniture. For me it will be a flag that casino isnt doing great, and if I get lucky to win, I might get in some kind of unpleased situation. So comfort is relative. It depends on the persons involved. If you are classy then you will not be comfortable betting where the abeyance will not give you comfort. There are certain people that are use to air conditioned environment and so staying outside air condition area will irritate them and might make them hasty to gamble or bet in error. But if you are the type that your class is comfortable in a low profiled environment, you will be comfortable in such environment. Just as practical in my own environment, at least I don't like casino houses that are dirty looking, smelling because of bad ventilation, crowdy with noisy people. Gambling in a local casino has something to do with the caliber of people around and those who use it. I do not believe this because it will not be surprising at all if you see casinos in both categories having the same return to player. I simply don't visit land based casinos. There's only one land based casino in the town where I live(a small town with a population of approximately 7000 people). The casino is located under a restaurant and it looks like a basement. There are several slot machines and one poker table. As you can tell, there's nothing luxurious, but I used to see more gamblers visiting that casino in the past. Nowadays, there are little to no gamblers visiting my local casino. Maybe online gambling had a significant role in reducing the amount of active offline gamblers.
Yes, a land based casinos must look really nice and luxurious. This definitely helps for gathering more players. Having all that fake "high social status" atmosphere inside a casino is a great marketing gimmick.
