Just got my first gamma 602. I was able to log in and change it to my local network. After that I was able to login using the new IP address. Once I am on the Axeos page "Dashboard" it just shows loading...

I went to the settings page, clicked check latest release and downloaded it. Then Click update firmware, ran the esp-miner.bin file. I get "error Unauthorized". Also, updated the website and I get "error http failure response for http:\\ip address/api/system/ota www:401 unauthorized.

Any help would be great, thanks

I don't know if what you mean by updated website but have you tried the web flasher https://bitaxeorg.github.io/bitaxe-web-flasher/

And then follow the instruction from the link below it shoyld be the right way to flash the unit via web flasher.

Release notes:
Code:
This update has a critical fix for a CSRF vulnerability. It is reccommended all Bitaxe users update as soon as possible!

Note: You will no longer be able to access AxeOS by hostname, you must use the Bitaxe IP. (ex: http://192.168.1.21)

If it doesn't work would you mind to try to factory reset it by holding the reset button for 15 to 30 seconds.

First off thanks for the replay. I’m going to give you a step by step what I am doing. Hope this is a little clearer what steps I took. Not sure if I am missing something or my Gamma is having        issues. I purchased through solosatoshi.com. Thanks for the help

1.   Powered up the Gamma 602
   a.   The display shows that it is connected to my local wifi.
   b.   My router shows the Gamma connected at 2.4G
   c.   I go to the IP address showing in the display on the Gamma
   d.   AxeOS comes up, and it just shows a spinning fan with i click the dashboard, swarm, logs, systems, pool (shows nothing), network (shows nothing), theme (will let me change the   colors), settings (shows nothing), update (will not show the current version) it will let me click the latest release and download them.
   e.   When I click on “update” it does not show the current version. I have down loaded the current version from
        https://github.com/bitaxeorg/ESP-Miner/releases

2.   Now I’m going to flash the Gamma with the link you provided using a usb-c to usb-a cable.
    a.   Shows connected, selected Gamma, board 602, firmware 2.10.0
    b.   Started to flash, got the % complete
    c.   Shows complete and to restart.
    d.   Restarted and passed self-test
    e.   Restarted the Gamma, now the display show wifi (for setup) with the Gamma's ssid name
    f.   I am able to connect to the AxeOS network configuration UI
    g.   Entered my local wi-fi settings
    h.   The display on the Gamma now shows the new IP address to my local wi-fi after reboot
    i.   Check the client list on my router and it shows connected at 2.4G

3.   I can connect to the AxeOS UI on my local network. and it just shows a spinning fan with i click the dashboard, swarm, logs, systems, pool (shows nothing), network (shows nothing), theme (will let me change the   colors), settings (shows nothing), update (will not show the current version) it will let me click the latest release and download them.

4.   Unplugged the Gamma and waited 15 minutes
    a.   It connected right up to my local network
    b.   I am able to connect to the AxeOS UI and I get the same information on all the tabs

That is the standard way to flash this unit using web flashing.

Have you tried the recovery method? By accessing it using this http://deviceip/recovery
Then reflash the unit after.

If you keep receiving "error unauthorized," it means there is a problem with your device. This error is supposed to occur when you flash a lower version or modded unauthorized firmware, but it appears even when you flash the most recent version.

You don't have any other choice but to flash this unit with bitaxetool with factory firmware.
You can find the method for how to use it under the espminer homepage from that link.

Only just spotted your thread, I had similar problems when I first got a BitAxe Gamma.

I found if you have port forwarding set-up on a network to act as a bridge between local subnets it doesn't propagate correctly so only ever shows the loading page.

Also had problems accessing it via a proxy, same results only ever shows the loading page.

I fixed my problems simply by putting the BitAxe on the same LAN as my FTTP router and the accessing it from the same network so my Laptop and BitAxe on the same LAN, no proxy or port forwarding.

Seems like you may have had a similar issue.

Probably channel related.

For those that might be reading this with similar issues. I've found they can be fickly with wifi connection. You have to position them right to have a decent connection, at least a stable one. Any metal, walls or large items could potentially interfere with the signal because the hardware responsible for the wifi on the board is so small. This goes for Bitaxe's and Nerdqaxe's.

Another thing, is if you've got a fairly congested 2.4ghz network it can cause problems, as well as a "smart" switch on the channels. It might be worth downloading a wifi analyser (ideally open source) and checking which channels are performing the best, and switching to manual channel selection to prevent it from switching non optimally to another channel which could cause down time.

I also think the devices just aren't all that good at this due to the small wifi hardware. I still despite averaging around 24ms ping from the miner itself have spikes into the 80-120ms. Testing the ping from my computer to the router I get a very stable 1/2ms.

If your router supports a guest network, it might be worth running that as a dedicated mining network. Obviously, making it secure, but this might help with the congestion of the main network, and allow for tuning the channel selection as best as possible. Also, it allows for potentially turning on different compatibility modes on the router which you might not be able to do on your 'main' networks.

yeah i have a two router setup.

the optimum and an attached hi end tp link router.

i run all mining hard ware the optimum wifi.

i run all other on the tp-link.

my three wifi miners are less than 1 meter from the optimum router.

it is fairly stable. other than blackouts  which knock out the miners and i must wait for power then wait for a few minutes and reboot the miners. this is because when power comes back the miners go online faster then the routers. a simple reboot of the three wifi miners fixes issues.
