Greetings my pipo of 9ja, this one na very important small discussion I wan make we join head together sabi how we go take do easy to we people.

In Bitcoin if what you are saying covers or only carry information about Bitcoin then you should know such post belongs to Bitcoin discussion section, while there are other post which you know that talks about government or politics we should know that such posts truly belong to politics & society then you should that is best suitable that place.

To know post that belongs to economy when it talks about certain events or occurrence from state or country then you should know is best suitable over there. Whatever post that talks about gambling then we should also take note that those are going to gambling discussions section.

In fact to me I see am as something wey dey easily and simple but the problems be say we people no dey like take records on where they should drop post or not but e go com occur for their minds say them supposed post here or there, but ended up posting at the wrong lane.

This is because I notice that our local board does not have a sub-board called bitcoin discussion, although I notice that most of the post that have to do with bitcoin and cryptocurrency and exchanges are left in the main board while others are pushed to politics and society or outrightly regarded as off-topic. Anyways, thanks for this post, it will help most people that wonder why their post were moved to where they are by our mod.

It's not that difficult to know the sections or boards which a topic should belong inasmuch as you are lettered you can easily know where you should post a topic but if you don't know where a topic should belong, post it anywhere the moderators will do their jobs by moving it to the appropriate place.

Sorry but i disagree with you on this, posts that belongs to the economy board are posts that centers more on business, trades, money and industry. Topics about events belongs to the politics and society.

I also disagree with the OP here and agree with you. I was going to also point this out because economics in general is concerned with anything that has to do with trade, policies that will help economic growth, etc., and not just about an event and its occurrences. The OP is wrong here, and there are also certain times when the event is controversial and a lot of things are involved, which includes talking about a particular firm wanting to invest in bitcoin, etc., which could make both boards appropriate for such a topic.

As a newbie to the forum, one is expected to get familiarized with the forum, know the available boards, what they are being discussed and how we could understand the best section we are proficient at, how to post there and what to post there, all these required from us to learn and get used to the forum, that is why on each sections, you will discover some pinned threads, then we all have to see the beginners and help section more important also, because one can ask and know more about cryptocurrency and the forum as we may try to ask, everything at the end is up to the newbie to determine how fast he could learn and adapt to the use of the forum.

Maybe you should consider editing the title of your thread to (In bitcointalk) rather than in Bitcoin and also edit your first line from mere bitcoin to bitcointalk. That being said, the way the different boards on the forum is arranged makes it easy for anyone that comes into the forum to easily understand how things works and if you're smart enough, even without being told, you should easily know that from the names given to the different boards, you can easily identify what's suitable to be posted in them.

It's only on the speculation board that newbies should be a bit confused because they tend to bring up altcoins discussion to that place not knowing that everything in the speculation board is supposed to be bitcoin specific. Apart from that boards, the names given to the other boards gives a good information as to what the board is all about.

No offfense I don't know if I am in any position   to say this but OP what is to say  that this your own post  self is supposed to be in the beginner's and help section to help the newbies in the entire forum know where to post. Dont get me wrong I am not complaining  or saying your post is bad I am just saying even your post is in the wrong section because if you look closely this is actually a teaching topic if you had wanted to create this topic for the Nigeria board you could have simple said

Sometimes most people might know the right board to post certain threads but they just ignore that and post it in another board because of visibility.

Most of these mistakes are made by newbies that are just introduced to the forum without proper orientation, and they come straight to the local board as been told by their mentors then start dropping everything that come their mind without properly checking them to know where they belongs to, they only thought that every discussion should be in the main board because they don’t usually check other sections of the local board; and the annoying thing is that, they always avoid doing such mistakes in the general board. If we can both sanitize this local boards like the general boards, then topics like this will not be discussed here anymore.

The main reason for this thread is to give awareness to our fellow Naija newbies and other local board members due to how some threads are been placed in a wrong section of the local board in order to sanitize the board and reduce work for the moderator.

I doubt if he was directing to the local board, it should be out of his experience to how especially beginners have been regularly creating threads in the wrong boards. But while precisely to our community is to also inform our incoming so they could take note.
I'll agree with with the Op because I've also been reporting much number of posts the the Mods to move post to the appropriate boards. So I think the thread would also serve as lesson to our newbies.

For Naija board, we only get 2 sub boards, politics and off topic with the main board for crypto related topics. Him advise should've been how to express your post within these boards I just mention so.

Since this post is been posted here, you should know that it is main for this board and the discussion is to regulate the amount of posts that been moved to off-topic by the mod, so if this awareness is been shared our local board members newbies in particular will know where to post their thread to avoid been deleted or moved by the moderator.

We have some sub-boards if you check well, we don’t have Bitcoin discussion sup-board like the general Bitcoin discussion in the forum, but our main Local board main discussion board here serve as both Bitcoin discussion, beginners and help and other important boards related to our local board; only off-topics and and politics are separated from the main board.

Well op wetting you dey talk na true, me self dey see most of those type of post litterd for the forum anywhere but I thank God say we get moderator, because most times na him dey move such thread to the right board. I also noticed say na the newbies they do that thing the most, but the old members know how e dey be around here and Dem no fit do that kind mistake. But in as much as say you don voice am out, I believe say many of dem go take correction. Another thing wey dey there be say we no go relent to dey teach them always because here dey like Barack, Soldier go soldier come but Barack remain thesame. This means say as many dey take correction so as new people go still come to maintain the mistake wey dem been don correct so correction no go tire us. As the main reason for eraser is to erase the mistake made by the pencil. So make we just try to dey remind them since e be say new members go still come wey go still fall law or repeat thesame mistake.

The truth be say, e still get some posts way you go wan make way be say, you no go still know where e go for best. For boards like Bitcoin discussion board, scam and accusation, economy and more, e no Dey really Dey confusing to make thread for those places but, you see beginners and help as e take look like where any post fit go, na there wahala Dey come some times o and the next thing you go see be say, them don move your thread go off topic.

The matter no be any major matter shah, na just say, make we try Dey locate the right board and if them move our thread, make we no too worry ourselves, nothing really be the thing.

Irrespective, topics have been moved from this local board to various boards that best fits the topic.

Are there no begineers in the local forum, from my view of new accounts in the forum, Nigerians are having more begineers than any other local board.

If all Bitcoin related topics are being posted in Bitcoin discussion board, we won't have interesting topics to discuss in our main Nigerian board, i can choose to discuss about bitcoin in my local forum than outside.

Thou, this is a very good thread to help our newbies understand the post formatting on this our local board and the forum entirely, but when it comes to this "Economy" category, I expected you to have elaborated more on simplying the best way to identify a thread that might belong or suitable for the "Economy" board. Because to be frankly speaking, I can confidently tell you that not all post that talk about certain event or occurrence about a country is "Economy", but rather posts that talks about the financial institution, banks, forex and new policies from either CBN or bureau de change about a country that can be regarded as an economic post.

Example of post about a country
1. Nigeria to buy New War Ship to it's military
2. Nigeria to increase the salary of Civil Servants
3. President Tinubu to buy New 2026 Mercedes Benz for maximum security.
4. Nigeria to host 2026 World Cup

You could see that all this post above talks about event or occurance in a country, but none can be categorized as an "Economic" post.

However,

Example of Economic Post
1. CBN to imposed a compulsory #10 Naira charge on every transaction above #10,000 starting from 2026
2. Bureau De Change to enter agreement with Binance to begin it's p2p.
3. Nigeria to borrow $10Trillion loan from China.

Hence, you could see that thou the number 3 talks about the country, but also include finance, hence making it qualify to be categorized under the "Economic" post.

You really get the picture of what I am saying over here and again, I raise this topic so that those who claims not to know where a post is belong to can actually judge themselves. The interesting thing is that those who actually claims not to know where a post is belong are the people even pointing out where post should belong to, I am impressed and hence I didn't expect any of us here who is above Junior member or member ranks to keep asking where a post should belong knowing too well that same groups of people who claims not to know where a post is belong are the people pointing out where post are meant to be. However, I raised this topic for a general discussion including English board and Local board because I noticed that the new mod appointed to the beginner & helps section doesn't joke with post, he moves post without thoroughly verifying the post is worth in that section or not takes action immediately and move them to offtopic or trashscan. So this one na to also make us remain vigilant on where to make our post.

This post really dey talk about the right board where we suppose dey post our topic. Plenty people dey fall victim of this aspect of activity here because them no really understand   am and some people too dey intentionally dey do  am because them want their topic to dey visible for the wrong board so thay the response to their post go planty well make e be say them dey noticed for the local or general board. And this thing dey very wrong because them dey give moderators to much stress to they move topics from board to board.

Already, every member of this platform knows that activities here are categorized based on your intentions and the content of what you have created. We should also save the moderators the stress of posting on the right board, so that they do not get posts deleted out of stress or annoyance.
