I was trying to play some new slot games yesterday in one of the popular casino, I noticed I was not allowed to play with the noticed that it was not available for people from my region. I was curious because there is hardly any form of gambling restriction in my country, so I trued another casino and the same thing happened. That was what prompted me to create this post.

The few times I have played slot games, I have never experienced such, and there is no restriction on gambling in my country, so why the sudden restriction on your part? Anyway, some countries do prohibit gambling, and it is against their law, but these countries' citizens do use vpn to access casino platforms, and there is nothing anybody can do about it. Except they have a maintenance going on, and they want to make sure they fix it up.

I have experienced it myself where I can't play the game myself. It is not because of the casino even if it is allowed in my country. The reason why I wasn't able to play is that the provider is not allowed in my country or doesn't have the permit to allow my country to play. If I remember correctly, I think it was pragmatic play on my part which I cannot play the games they provided even if the others can be played. Because of being unable to play is I never tried it again.

Their are some casinos that doesn't allow some certain region to partake in their site, I have noticed that a year ago, so many gambling platforms placed a restriction from their gambling, I don't know the reason why restriction is being placed on some region, even though you're looking for a way to bypass and have access it won't work except that they include such region on their board

Their is one certain time I used vpn and it went true, but I did not place any stake, I went directly to their support team, and told them how I managed to get access to their platform, they told me that I might have issues in future if I continue to use bypass, so that made me to withdraw from the platforms, but I know if bypass can help if the platforms is not mean.

That could also be the case that the slot provider is not allowed in the country, but such is not very common compared to how some providers just like to avoid providing services to countries that they have not yet gained licenses from to avoid facing regulatory charges from the country in the future. Even if the casino itself is licensed, if the provider is not, they will not want to associate themselves with them.

The slot provider its self may not allow players from your region even if the site you're playing on does. I usually get that error from No limit when playing on stake.us and have to verify my region. I just don't play those slots so i'm not wasting an hour trying to get it to work.

I didn't know that this can happen. I have always thought that it goe-restriction is from the casino only and not the game provider. But I wonder why a game provider would do this. Could it be that it has be abused in the past by players from those regions?
And yes, moving on to the other slots games that has no restriction is the right move.

Politicians are trying to ban VPNs around the world to address this issue.  Some users use VPNs to appear that they are in other regions in order to get around regulations.  Stake solved this issue by requiring that users of their casino submit KYC information to prove they are not breaking the law.  One by one all casinos will have to adhere to regulations in order to stay in business.  KYC seems to be the way things are headed, but you never know when a change could happen.  Maybe future governments will embrace privacy and VPNs instead of trying to end them.

Not having a gambling restriction for your geographical area has nothing to do with some slot game restrictions, which are decided by the slot game creator.
I don't know the reason why some slot game providers put restrictions on their game for users from certain regions where gambling is not illegal, but it's their game and their rules.

OP should've named the slot game and the slot provider so we could test it out if it's only in your country. If I remember correctly, the same question was asked before, but I cannot find the buried thread.

Some slot providers cannot be accessed in a region because it is simply restricted by the slot provider. The other reason could be licensing. They are having trouble getting a license in a certain country, which is why they are not allowed to do business there. Then, there are also fees that must be paid, and I think that is also part of the licensing or tax rules, which is why they cannot be played.

Are you both from the same country? If not, it would explain why he would have slots geoblocked. Maybe his country randomly decided to block slots and yours did not. Countries have very unique and different rules and regulations in place.

Anyway, some countries do prohibit gambling, and it is against their law, but these countries' citizens do use vpn to access casino platforms, and there is nothing anybody can do about it. Except they have a maintenance going on, and they want to make sure they fix it up.

Has OP tried using a vpn? That seems to be the only way here since it does seem like slots are not available in his country

Its the second kind of restriction that exist in the gambling industry, though your nation might fall well within acceptable jurisdiction, the game offerings might as well not but, this is hardly a course to be alarmed. The reason for that have been explained here by Cointxz… Because gambling is legal in a country does not give all casino operators a free pass to operate without licensing. The same thing is applicable with game providers; they need permission to operate.

I've experienced this with several slot providers, but changing it via VPN returned everything to normal. Why does this happen? The rules of the slot provider might differ from those of the casino license, leading players to encounter this issue.

Maybe they can’t get a license in your country. I don’t know the full process but maybe there are strict tight regulatory loop holes and they don’t want to do it for your jurisdiction. You may be allowed to gamble in your country but perhaps that’s with native casinos or sportsbooks.

Maybe the sites you are trying to access find it tough or expensive to appease your government. Any way can’t you use a VPN?

The problem is not with the site, I can place bet on sportsbook and many other casino games but there are certain providers that added restrictions which the case here. There is no known restrictions of gambling or it's related activities, both online and offline, in my country. I know that using VPN may solve the problem but then, I don't know if that may cause some problems incase I'm lucky to win because you will never know you violated TOS until you win. Nevertheless, I'm not desperate to play those games, there are thousands of other games I can choose from. Reading through the comments, I think I have idea of why the restriction was put although I'm not certain about that.

It may not be ilegal, but some countries still require a special license for casinos to work there. For example in Brazil online gambling is not ilegal, but you need to have a official license and registration with the government, paying a big fee around millions, otherwise they will block your website nationwide.

The provider is doing the best to not get sued or chased by certain governments which require too much work before letting the games be available to the nationals.

I just learned about this incident, and considering that gambling is prohibited in my country, I've been able to play everything, though mostly just to try it out. Of the many games, there are still some I haven't tried, and if the results are the same as yours, I might be confused as to why the game isn't accessible.
Or perhaps there are some restrictions set by the casino itself, and perhaps we can see them in the casino's terms and conditions, which the casino may have explained but we haven't read them yet.

Well, it's for legal reasons, when the game provider has not acquired the necessary license from a government of a country, their game won't be available to the citizens of that country.
Take Ghana for example, a casino may be operation in gather because the management of that casinos has acquired all the license that allows them to provide casino services to the citizens of Ghana, but you discover that still, some games in that same casino may not be available to Ghanaians to play because that game does not belong to the casino, it's a third party game and the provider of that game hasn't registered with the authorities of the Ghanaian government to allow his or their game operate in Ghana.

Even if the rules in your country don't explicitly stop you from playing slots, the slot operators might prevent some regions from playing on their slots. I'm not sure why its the case as there's not much issue in scaling the server with increased traffic than avoiding players who could earn more money. So, server issue are not the thing. Another reason could be political issues. Some politically motivated websites do ban different reason at will but no one is going to look at what are the slots are serving so it's not logical at all. Legal issues might be another reason but I don't think any slots operating on its term faces regular lawsuits from losing players.

Maybe the game is restricted in a certain area due to regulatory issues. Some games might not allowed in a particular location due to some reasons. Abuse of the games is not a good reason to restrict a location; they can easily upgrade their security to avoid future exploits.

This shows that this restriction is not all about location.  It could also happen due to the casino. Maybe such a game cannot be accessed because there is no deal between the casino and the provider.

It's might be the game provider itself or the license that the casino got restricts your region or your country. And that could be reason why you can't play games or it is not available even though as you have said that gambling is not well regulated in your country.

I do experience this from time to time playing different casinos. And maybe this is also one reason that some casinos are VPN friendly. So that they can still gave some of their gamblers playing time even if games are geo-restricted.
