Was there probably a time where people didn't have leaders? They didn't have to look up to another for their well-being and to someone they can follow. If there was, it would have been a real' long time ago, right? If everyone was well off, would anyone still need leaders? Don't get me wrong, leaders are useful, very useful, in their own way. They provide, protect, guide, lead, etc,. But I'm just saying, if everyone could do those things for themselves, I don't think anyone would actually need leaders. They have their good sides and their bad sides. Like, when they take wrong decisions, alot of people suffer for it. A very good example is the ongoing war in Gaza, many people are suffering for what they don't know and what their hands were never involved in.
So, I'm just saying, if everyone was well off, could protect themselves, could make proper decisions for themselves, would leaders and leadership be necessary?
Bross, the truth be say the very first reason why leadership even dey introduced from day one na because dem see say the world no fit just operate smoothly without person wey go lead…. Nor be about the title leader alone, na about wetin the role really carry come.. Imagine say everybody dey do wetin dey their mind without direction, the level of chaos go pass wetin we dey complain about today.. Nobody go reason community or public good again, everybody go just dey chase their own selfish interest. Who go even think of fixing road, building schools, providing water, or other basic service wey suppose dey benefit all of us?
Another side be say, without leadership, no rules or law go even hold ground.. You go just wake up one morning and do as you like, and nobody fit hold you accountable. Na total disorderliness be that. Leaders and government suppose dey act as the structure wey hold society together.. Yes, many times dem dey misbehave Dey abuse am, but make we no deceive ourselves, if no leader dey, wahala go plenty pass. Even small small things like traffic rules, security, leadership dey manage all those..
The real problem no be leadership itself but the corruption and misuse of power inside the system. And I feel sometimes people dey forget the little orderliness we still dey enjoy from the same system.. Without it, na survival of the fittest go rule. Another thing we no dey talk much about be external threats, like foreign invasion or natural disasters. Without organized leadership, who go coordinate defense or relief? E go just be every man for himself, and truth be told, that kind life no fit last…
