I've noticed something new. I first saw it on the tech boards, but it happens on many other boards: Newbies who create one post and disappear again.
The users who created those posts all registered within less than an hour of each other:
Go for it, but start small learn the ropes before dropping serious money on hardware.
coin isn’t selling like before because the market has matured holders are long-term, whales aren’t moving as much, and FOMO-driven retail selling has cooled. Plus, institutional interest keeps liquidity tighter.
Your 2013 wallet.dat might be incompatible with v29. Try restoring it on an older version first, then upgrade gradually, or use a tool that can extract private keys safely.
Sounds dope finally seeing physical art tied to Bitcoin ordinals, not just digital hype.
Altcoins can offer big growth potential, especially if you get in early on a solid project. They're often cheaper than Bitcoin, so you can buy more with less. A lot of them are tied to cool tech like smart contracts, DeFi, or gaming, which gives them actual use beyond just being a coin. Plus, you can earn passive income by staking some of them. Just be smart, it's a risky space so always do your research.
Regulation can help legitimize crypto but too much could kill its freedom and innovation. Cool
PI isn’t even properly listed yet comparing it to Luna is way too early.
They’re just the culture jokes, hype, and inside references that keep the Bitcoin community connected and spreading the message. Smiley
No you can’t recover a lost wallet just with the address. You need the private key or recovery phrase. The address alone only lets people send funds to you, not access your wallet.
If I'd have to guess, someone is testing which of his accounts are proxybanned and which are free to spam.

If anyone's interested in checking more, see this list of the 1000 most recent forum accounts (about 1 week worth of new accounts) or see 1000 most recent first posts to quickly find "suspects" with some scrolling.

I made this post in B&H but someone responded that I was sounding hash but I was saying the truth. The people behind this accounts knows what they doing, it’s just either farming and keeping them for some reason best know to them.
They intentionally neglect the accounts for the main time and will probably comeback someday.

The truth remains that even if you send direct warning to people on their DMs abusers will always be abusers.

Fact remains that it’s an act of negligence not ignorance, people know what they are doing in this forum… most are just clearly not interested in keeping up a thread but start the discussion. We can also see it as a way of completing their post quota that’s why they don’t keep with the threads.

Don't know exactly about these particular ones you picked out but it's quite normal to come across newbies making very short posts especially in technical board and mining boards. For some I've noticed they are basically bitcoiners offline they just come here to find solutions when they have issues.

For the case of these ones you hand picked, you can't stop them. The best we could do is report meaningless posts and when they cross the line they eventually get banned.

It's normal for people to create an account looking for a solution. It's not normal to create an account to post "an answer", especially when there are many doing it within an hour.

Well I do get your point. I already reported every single one of them. The point I'm trying to make is you can't really stop these guys, that's because no matter what you do they'll still keep coming. The best we could do is keep our eyes peeled. You could use this thread as a feed for spammers like these so the posts gets removed ASAP.

All the ones you quoted have all been deleted already. The moment they break any major forum rules that's bad for the community they'll get banned asap this thread will better serve that purpose in addition infact.

I agree that they may be farming accounts, then disappearing, and after a few weeks or months or quarters, they will reactivate the account as a new user, but with a long registration history. Then they start participating in discussions with others as usual. I think you already understand this practice.

And yes, they will keep coming back even if they are blocked multiple times; they will continue to do so.

The solution for now might be to flag those accounts and others (in the watchlist) and monitor their future interactions on the forum, so we at least have an idea of their patterns. On the other hand, there are irresponsible merit spreaders.

I don't remember anyone got banned with the reason spamming alone for years and at worst they might get a temp ban if most of their posts are deleted in short time period but other than that they will just keep doing it.

One of the reasons could be a shill farm is just trying to see how their account performs and getting ready to include whatever they want to shill in the coming days.

Yes. Because an account, which is created today, or yesterday, is worth less, than something, which was created years ago. Also, it is then easier to abuse activity counter, because then, it is usually equal to the post counter.

I don't think all this accounts you posted are connected, but I did notice more posts are being created by newbies.
With help of AI generators it's easier than ever for them to create random posts like this, and some of them could be reported to mods as a spam.

Just to quench my curiosity. Are there people who use the forum by creating an account anytime they want to discuss in the forum. I mean they could be using a throwaway email to register each time they want to use the forum?

They can easily use invalid email instead. Bitcointalk gives people privilege to register without a valid email. Such a person will just input what comes to his mind as email and he will likely get registered and start posting.

Yeah we have a ton of them on the wallet board and technical board even the mining board sometimes. The fact is most of them are bitcoiners offline like I said earlier they basically use this forum as a problem solving community. Some may not necessarily discard the email they may use their email and visit the forum at intervals when they have issues.

Don't know if you're ever noticed but there are a lot of bitcoin related things that when you Google, this forum pops up as the top recommendation.

Took a quick look at your 1000 list and it seemed swarmed with those oneline posters! I have also noticed some of these users but I couldn't understand what they were up to! I got the spamming part but apart from that, what are they really trying to gaining by making these oneline posts? Will anyone enlightened me! Undecided

They can easily use invalid email instead. Bitcointalk gives people privilege to register without a valid email. Such a person will just input what comes to his mind as email and he will likely get registered and start posting.

So a person can make infinite amount of accounts with an invalid mail using the same IP with ? Huh As long as it hasn't been blacklisted? Or is there any limitations? Like 10 account per IP or 1 account per day per IP?

I would say that 90% of these accounts are from other active users here on the forum. When a newbie makes a post, you can tell the difference between someone new and someone who already knows the forum well.

But perhaps we would all be surprised at ourselves if we looked again at what our firsts posts here on the forum was.  Tongue

Unfortunately, there's not much we can do. Or is there?

So a person can make infinite amount of accounts with an invalid mail using the same IP with ? Huh As long as it hasn't been blacklisted? Or is there any limitations? Like 10 account per IP or 1 account per day per IP?
I do not know because I have not tried it before. If the spammer is using different invalid emails with the same IP, it is very possible that it will work unless the person IP has been blacklisted. The spammer may get another VPN to continue his shitty work. But some people know many means to create several emails within a short period of time.

Such a person will just input what comes to his mind as email and he will likely get registered and start posting.

yes but remember that there are reasons, for privacy and security
Let's remember that the outside world is just waiting to understand that you are doxing yourself and harming yourself in some way, so these security measures are useful.
if they are abused, just punish those who abuse them
There should be a sort of "note" like on altcointalks that then disappears when these cases occur

If I'd have to guess, someone is testing which of his accounts are proxybanned and which are free to spam.

CMIIW, but doesn't the forum show message if your account cannot make post due to evil IP, proxy ban or similar reason?

Quote
They intentionally neglect the accounts for the main time and will probably comeback someday.
Yes. Because an account, which is created today, or yesterday, is worth less, than something, which was created years ago. Also, it is then easier to abuse activity counter, because then, it is usually equal to the post counter.

This is good point. On "Digital goods" board and other part of internet, there are people selling aged account, even with very little/no activity on it.

Are there people who use the forum by creating an account anytime they want to discuss in the forum.
Someone once told me that is indeed what he does. It was a Brand New account. It's great for privacy: one "thing" per account means nothing can be connected.

Took a quick look at your 1000 list and it seemed swarmed with those oneline posters!
That is the reason I created it  years ago. The spammers really stand out with generic shitposts. It's kinda off-topic, kinda not really spam, but doesn't add any value to the topic. And doing that on many accounts makes it obvious it's just spam.

Could be, I'm not sure.

They're not even trying to hide their spam. Those 2 posts are in a row:
Beyond profits, it teaches patience, financial sovereignty, and a new perspective on money and tech.
Beyond profits, Bitcoin teaches patience, financial sovereignty, and a new perspective on money and technology.

I've reported 28 posts. If they get Nuked, I'll continue. If they only get removed (or even left alone), this is a waste of time. Spambots don't care about their effort being lost, I do.
Update: all 28 posts are deleted. I checked a few accounts, they're not banned.

Please report back if they do.

As a matter of fact, I had also noticed a major number of newbie accounts creating one liner posts, spamming the forum. I would even claim that they're AI generated, as they're way too similar with eachother and may often be out of subject. I personally ignored them as shitposting, but as you're now showcasing, it's a spamming spree with unknown reasons (to me at least). Could it be a spambot on trial grounds running on the forum? I don't want to jump into conspiracy theories just yet.

If they end up being deleted, I'll be on the lookout and also report such posts/users without reporting them to a main thread (like in AI reporting).

Ahh now I got it! Thanks! Smiley

And when reporting what did you added as the comment, "spamming / AI"? I don't have hundreds of thousands of good reports as you do so I'm always confused about adding the right comments!

Since you are the best guy to ask this, is there any way to see all the posts that have been made within the 24-72 hours? I didn't mean the 10 pages of posts we can see from "View the most recent posts on the forum".
