I receive email from Blockchain.com again today. On my last topic, some people posted that people that only registered with email and password on Blockchain.com will not be sent the email but that is not true. I only tested the wallet few years ago without sending a cent to the exchange. It is very strange the way the wallet developers are marketing their exchange now and they keep disturbing me to verify. I was emailed this today I may finally unsubscribe for me not to receive email from them again. Blockchain.com is no more a wallet but an exchange.

Blockchain.com is no more a wallet but an exchange.
But blockchain.com has always been an exchange, even before they developed their wallet, or am I wrong? I know back then, even before I started using Luno, which is no more, their blockchain, blockchain.com, had always been their offering their service to Nigerians long before Binance gained popularity, based on my knowledge. And as for the email, I still get it almost every day asking me to verify my account so that I can start using their P2P service, which supports my country's pair.

Blockchain.com is no more a wallet but an exchange.
They made alot of changes to their platform since 2011. Considering the fact that it started first as a block explorer then to a crypto wallet and now it's completely an exchange. Before anyone argues over something they should atleast try to carry out a little research just to prove their point. It has been an exchange in the last decade. Their services points to everything that makes it an exchange not a wallet. On the new interface you see clearly upon opening for the first time you are asked to login, signup or import wallet. That's not the feature of a crypto wallet but an exchange platform. Even after importing your seed, you will be asked to put in your personal information again before proceeding to use your imported wallet.

Blockchain.com was only a wallet in the past and if I remember correctly, they launched their exchange in 2019. It may worth mentioning that even when blockchain.com was only a wallet, people had to register via their email address to use the service and that's probably why they have OP's email address in their database.

I have been receiving emails from Blockchain.com for a while. I think what other members said is not true. They are probably trying so hard to promote their exchange so they want you to verify. Unfortunately, when signing up, we accept the terms and conditions plus thing like the privacy policy where they are use your data to advertise whatever product they have, The Best thing is to unsubscribe from future emails.

Now I see why I considered it to be some sort of exchange back then, because I can recall way back that when I first made use of blockchain.com, I signed up using my email, which was actually a way we used in making registrations for exchanges, and I also think there was a swap or convert option available where you could deposit Bitcoin and withdraw Dogecoin or other altcoins back then.

Thank goodness I haven't been receiving such emails from them. I don't even remember the last time I logged into my account lol. Did you login recently, OP?
They've always liked to push people to verify. I remember years ago, there were also pop ups in their private key wallet asking people to verify, so some folks thought the KYC is for the private key wallet—it was not.

I did not login recently. In fact I did not remember the username and the password that I used to register on the wallet because I did not save both as I know I am not going to send bitcoin or any other coins to the wallet.

I don't receive any email from them related to KYC. The emails I usually receive from them are some airdrops and bonuses. It seems they have a new feature called DeFi Wallet because they keep promoting it through email and via midnight airdrop.
I have an account on the blockchain, but I totally forgot my password. My bad. I have at least around 0.001 or around 0.005 something on my blockchain wallet. I tried recovering it with the seed but was unsuccessful because it also asked for email, but providing my email gave me a different wallet. I don't remember if I used a different email at that time; it was a 2014 account, and most of my emails are saved on my old phone, which I don't have access to anymore.
Anyway, back to the topic, it seems their email has an unsubscribe button, so like others said, better unsubscribe if you don't want to receive any email from blockchain in the future.

This topic: /index.php?topic=5558656.20? Perhaps you misunderstood them since I can't see any reply that mentioned that? Blockchain.com ( website) isn't just the Exchange, it's the same as their mobile client that contains both the self-custodial wallet and exchange service. The consensus in the thread is: the email is about getting access to the exchange, KYC is not mandatory if it's just the self-custodial part, but still misleading. And it's not surprising that you received another email since you haven't unsubscribed prior to posting this... It seems they have a new feature called DeFi Wallet because they keep promoting it through email and via midnight airdrop.
It's just their " non-custodial" wallet ( better call it "self-custodial") renamed as " DeFi" ( Decentralized Finance) Wallet.

I may finally unsubscribe for me not to receive email from them again.
Blockchain.com is no more a wallet but an exchange.
That's what you should do if you don't want them to be spamming your inbox. But seriously, do people still use web wallets in 2025? I doubt if there are many persons. I once had a blockchain.com wallet, but I can't remember the last time I logged in. Their robust marketing campaign won't bring back old users because people have moved on to better wallets. Web wallets are obsolete and the team should just accept reality.

you should just close your account and be done with them. no one should be using blockchain.com as a wallet in 2025 anymore. I did not login recently. By seeing threads from here about blockchain.com, made me check my wallet and there's also the defi wallet that I cannot find there. The first thing that I've noticed is that my account has got 3 processes of verification and I only completed the email part. It's a long time ago account that I've seen they've kept it but I'm not going to verify it to them. I agree to act, it's not a web wallet anymore but an exchange. But there is no stats on how much volume they have from coinmarketcap and ranked around 600+. But with coingecko, it's ranked 400+ and has got $52k in 24-hour volume. So there's really a need for them to market their exchange out when most of their users have left already.

Having access to the email address used for registration is not enough for recovering your blockchain.com wallet. If you have lost your password, you have to recover your wallet using your seed phrase and this means that if you have lost both password and seed phrase, there is no way to recover your wallet.

AFAIK, password reset was added after lunching the exchange service back to 2019. But in this way, there is no point in generating complex passwords by their system. Also if i can remember well, seed can be used to open the wallet in another client but not with blockchain wallet. I stopped recieve emails since a longtime ago and i wonder if there stil exist people using blockchain.com wallet in 2025 or any web wallet in general.
