When it comes to sports betting, one market I always find interesting is the point spread. Unlike moneyline bets where you just pick who wins, the spread levels the playing field. I like point spread over money line specifically positive point spread since I’m not good on sports betting prediction while this positive point usually give me a margin of error in case my team chosen doesn’t beat the enemy team while they are lose within the spread.

Money line has no chance to win once your chosen team lose the game while on point spread you still have chance to win if your team manage to score close to the winning team and just fall short.

I am a huge fan of betting with point spread. Like you rightly stated you dont need a team to win, you can bet on them to score a one goal, two goals or more. Most times, you either bet on both teams to score. Whichever teams that win in the end is none of your business.

One point spread odds I use a lot is the "no team to score more than two goals in a row" It has been more helpful to me. IMO, sharing here could help a lot of sport bettor like me.

That sounds nice, do you know I haven't really come across that option before. Maybe I haven't really taken time to search for some hidden options when gambling. I am this type that believe in playing direct winnings. To me anything outside direct winnings don't interest me, but reading this your option really sound juicy to me. Moneylines has been the way for long but I already knew about the point spread like my friend usually use it, it’s more like someone who knows the team/club can use point spread better just like you said it now seems like a skilled based but it’s not, I can remember my friend always betting on corners in a game and how many corners it will end with and sometimes it goes closer and he wins even when his team fumbles and it’s good. Like the title asked, I think you can easily use point spread when you’re a fan of a failing team, that can help not to just choose your favorite to win.

With point spread it shows that you know more about the team that you are betting on, to me I do not usually fans on a particular club rather any team can score at least from 1, so even if both had 1:1 I wins or even if is 1:0, 0:1 or 3:1 so thereabouts. This helps me mostly In first half I often succeed if not for my nature of having multiple leg game, which could land me to either lose a match or 2.

You can get lucky with both but if you ask me I would say that money line can be a little disappointing sometimes even though it's straight forward. Betting on favorites to win is cool but they might end up losing but there's a chance that they score one or two goals, using pont spread gives you an advantage, you don't necessarily need it wait for any team to win, what you need is for them to score

At the initial stage when I got into betting, I would instead prefer to just pick who wins and I more times than few, lost.

Fast-forward to the present where I can say I have a better understanding of betting and can apply strategies like money lines or point spread or any other strategy these days, I would agree that point spread is definitely better and gives one a better chance of winning both by the cashout options or straight wins.

Point spreading in betting creates value on ones favorite choices whenever one is involved in betting, its principles act inorder to level the odd difference between two mismatched teams like also an extra layer of coverage in case one decides to bet on underdogs.

In essence, point spread makes any bet a competitive bet for me and am always sure I would make profit instead of total loss every time I place bets using the strategy.

Points spread is the way It makes sense to me to bet. I've had my full of predicting games to win and they end up playing 1:1, 3:3 etc while I could've used points spread to catch a better occurrence and win my bet despite the ties and win comfortably. Point spread is better and have served me better and I think it's a good option. +1 for you for that effective mindset.

I think this is one of the most refreshing post I've read in a while now on this board. 'Spread' is actually a wide topic for any gambler that doesn't want the regular money lines and totals.
I didn't know much about it, so I had to go look it up-- The Asian handicap is also a form of spread ( if I'm correct).

I wouldn't say I'd prefer to work with spreads since I just got to realize exactly how they work, but I think one can optimize their chances of winning big with it.

I prefer to go with point spread, money line can be very disappointing...instead of picking your favorite team to win it's better to pick the goals market...yesterday was a complete disaster in soccer betting but those that focused on point spread won big time...80 percent of tht big teams lost so money line was a bad pick..although this doesn't mean that it can't work for you, luck is also involved

I always bet on the point spread. I've no fancy for winning selection since there are other better options to pick and stand more advantage than direct winning. Direct winning is a very risky selection as far as I'm concerned and I'm aware some teams win by 1:0, but I'm more connected to points spread betting since it allows me to brainstorm on other possibilities of winning based on their player form and club situation rather than outrightly predicting games to run without much certainty.

I like moneylines usually and the total points. But with the point spread, I agree that it's a smarter way of betting to the games that we watch. I don't think that it should be ignored by the others and those who haven't tried it yet. Sometimes, if I think that the odds with the money line aren't favorable to the teams that I want to win, it's better to choose total points and then go after with the point spread. The choice is in ours, there is no need to be a good guesser there. You just have to point how many points it would be and bet on it although it's also the same on how you are waiting for the game to end with game winners.

It depends on the game.

Most of the time, I use the spreads to gain an advantage, but if I see that the moneyline is appealing and it can really win, I take it without thinking twice. The spreads do help, but sometimes it takes out the chances of winning higher odds. There are games when a team can surely win without any doubt because they are known to be a strong team. This is where I use the negative spreads, but I am careful not to pick high negative spreads, especially against rivalry opponents.

Most gamblers who are interested in sports bettting actually prefer the strategy  over  just choosing a particular team to win which can still end up messing up your bets .
I do point spread  but one thing i do consider is not to spread to much as that could also end with a bad result even  with a close margin , don't  spread too much just pick the ones that you feel are more secured.

As long as I know I can not win by choosing my favourites, that's the exact moment I will prefer spreading my betting towards hard areas where I believe I have knowledge on and will probably the team will probably reach such goal, like yellow cards, corner kicks and free kicks in football. Moneyline is when you have a believe and it's simple and has high chance of being the out come that's when I think moneyline is better than spreading your expectations in gambling/sportbookies.

I prefer the latter. That's an easy way for esports because I don't have to look further for what has happened in their past matches. So, checking out the roster of team a and b is sometimes what I do. But I am not settling for that and if there have been the most recent games, I also take that into account. Because that's how it goes in esports. And sometimes, it's no brainer with the favorites and that's where I am going when I have the idea and background of what I am betting for.

I also prefer playing direct winnings anytime I am gambling on sports betting, but point spread is actually a nice option because you aren't relying on a team to win a match for your game to play. Anytime I am playing point spread, I like playing that a game won't end in a draw because it gives me the chance not to rely on one team for my prediction to play. And this is actually not as easy as we think. You might win the game but if you fail to cover the spread, you still lose. Betting on the outright result or moneyline is even easier, but the real reason we can’t win long term is because the odds are stacked against us, especially with heavy favorites.

Just imagine betting on 1.30 odds. you’d need to win 4 times just to get around 20% profit.

For me it's the same, meaning I can use all three options. My benchmark is the odds. When Team A is given low odds on the moneyline, I'll look at the point spread. If the bookmaker odds are favorable and Team A has a good xG, I'll certainly try the spread bet, just like with the totals option. Essentially, I'll compare the odds across the three options, analyze the teams and choose a betting option. That's it.
