Juice/Vig ... didn’t even know this existed when I started. Basically, the house edge that makes sure the book earns no matter what.

There are many other sports betting terms that you did not cover such as 3Ways, Asian Handicap,  nightingale, etc and each of them represent a way of approaching gambling or an option to bet. You don't have to memorise these terms before you progress in gambling,  till date I still find new terms for types of selection I do make without knowing about that they are. For instance, I learnt about FLEX recently which enable you to win if one of your games in the parley fails. There are many things to learn everyday.

All that you mention is just different type of bet and terms on Sportsbook but in the end you will just need to pick side on who will win or to fulfill the condition on your bet if you put money on player props.

I don’t consider much the terms since sportsbook offer a plain and simple bet type which is the money line while we don’t need to bet on other type of bet if we find it complex.

I knew all the terms listed except vigs/juice when I start on sportsbook.

Sport betting is quite wide and such that it will take time before you understand all of them, most times it when you have lost some unimaginable bets that you begin to search for the reasons only then you realize them and have to apply them in the next bet.

There are interesting aspect of gambling we should understand well in sport betting's, a newbie may not get used to them except with time, we have to take our time to learn and know how these can also be interpreted to gambling and the specific game we are playing.

The word handicap was very strange and that option was complex to understand at first but as time went on it became simple. Betting terms are not rocket science, Im surprised to see that there are beginners that purchase courses from people just to understand what these terms actually means, you don't need to pay anyone to lecture you on this like it's a trading course, it might be confusing at that beginning but it gets simple later on

The option you mentioned above are simple ones and I think even new gamblers should be familiar with the options. You're definitely missing a lot if you only know or gamble on 1X2 in sport betting. Although, there are many options in sports betting and one can not master everything at once because more options are being introduced on timely basis. The options that confuse me the most during my early days in gambling is the Asian and European handicap. I lost many games for the sake of this options before I should understand it.

So what does this knowledge gives you? Have you started guessing the exact score, handicaps and totals?  
It's clear that more markets mean more choice, and different people prefer different markets. But you're so regretful about not knowing this earlier, as if this new knowledge has somehow changed your betting experience. I'd be interested to know what it is.
The only thing I want to draw your attention to is that traditional markets have a lower bookmaker margin, the more exotic the market, the higher the bookmaker's margin.

I knew some, didn't know some, but I used to only go for the ones that I knew what they mean, for example, choosing who will win, or whether it's going to be a draw. Choosing whether there will be over or under a certain number of goals in the whole match from both sides, etc. At first, I was also confused about over and under, and I didn't know what they mean, but then I searched about them to confirm and understand what they mean, and then I understood and started using those options as well, and I believe you can win more with these extra options instead of going for team win.

It's actually pretty easy to understand all the terms, a simple Google search or even using an AI model such as ChatGPT will explain everything very easily, and then you can see if you want to use those options or not. All this information is essential, and this is the reason why it's said that sports betting is not only about luck, it's about your betting strategy, patterns, your research and analysis, and also your knowledge of the game.

Sport betting is so broad that you'd have to study every single option very effectively to know how to make a successful combination. Any misinterpretation leads to a different outcome and you know what that means.
Some options pay much more money than the others, but also involve a higher chances of risking everything. It's good that learnt this, even though you did it when it was already late cause you had a couple of losses, still fair.

There are many other sports betting terms that you did not cover such as 3Ways, Asian Handicap

I created this because I just want to share my experience. If you think you’re already a pro and don’t need this, then you really have no business relying on this thread. This discussion is mainly for people who can relate especially newbies who gamble but avoid sports betting because they feel it’s too complicated.

So just because I was away for a while, does that mean I don’t have the right to come back and post anymore? Everyone takes breaks, and I’m just sharing what I can now that I’m back. If my posts seem too basic, that’s fine, they’re mainly meant for beginners who might find them useful.

The first book maker that I used was 1xbet and they were so many options to pick from, I found lots of them really complicating so I always copy the bet slip of others...The only way to understand is by actually betting, there's nothing really difficult there..besides you don't need all the options if you are just starting, focus on that simple options and gradually explore more as you begin to understand the terms

it’s not exactly a term used in casinos officially but a phrase you might often hear a lot from other gamblers is “lay the wood” or “laying the wood”
 
here wood is the price of betting on the heavy favorite so if you bet on the heavy favorites then you can say you were laying out the wood and beginners might find this confusing

I was also innocent about this when I started sports betting. My knowledge is limited to moneylines and point spreads. It's easy to understand the point spread because we do this when we play against weaker teams, when I played streetball. +3 is what they always ask for, and the game is up to 11. That means they will only need 8 points, and the game is done.

The thing that intrigued me more is the Asian bets and other options that are similar to it. I got really confused with this until one member in this forum helped to understand the Asian handicap. Thanks to him. Sorry, I forgot his name and the thread name because it was a very long time ago.

Moneyline is you pick who wins, thats it. spreads is who covers the margin ? sometimes your team can win however not cover, hence the w t f losses. wanna go for over or under? it means bet on whether both teams together score more or less than a number. parlays is a sexy payday i cant deny it however all legs must hit, lol. one loss & you are done , in here you will find huge variance, never ever treat them like a system. juice, vig is the books builtin commission rate, that is how they make money even if your bet balance out. So I always compare line at different sportsbook to find out the best deal for me, as there are some that charge less juice. Parlay should never be relied upon to make real cash.., just think of parlay as fun parlays, dont think it is your bankrol builder.

You probably do not use sport betting sites that much that is why you haven't heard of those terms or you probably lack gambling conversations because personally they are nothing special as you come across words that are coined every day in conversations. I do not have a list of new words that I have heard or read in this forum but definitely a lot but they aren't special as I said. And as for confusion, I'm never confused because I have Google which I can easily turn to and ask whatever.

At first, betting terms like handicap, over/under, or double chance actually sounded confusing to me confusing, to me when I was just introduced into betting, then as a beginner, but as time goes on with observation, and practice, they became much easier to understand.
Most of the concepts are repeated often enough that you naturally learn them just by using the platforms regularly or following discussions. Most people just need a little patience and willingness to learn gradually and with time they will know how to predict game's perfectly.
