Our great nation Nigeria gained independence from Britain on October 1, 1960, with great hope for unity and development. However the early years were faced with challenges such as Ethnic and Religious Conflicts, political instability, military coups, Economic Challenges and the civil war. Despite these trials, Nigeria remained strong and very focused.
After a long time military rule in 1999, democracy was restored, marking a new chapter of peace, freedom, growth and development and Since then, the nation has continued to strive for more peace, development, and unity. Today, Nigeria stands as the Giant of Africa, rich in culture, diversity, and potential.

Democratic Progress: Nigeria has succeeded in maintaining a very good Democratic progress and is a very good one some African countries military rule has taken over again there by removing democracy in that nation.

Cultural Influence:  Nollywood is now the third-largest film industry in the world you can check it online and see for yourself and Nigerian music (Afrobeats) enjoys global recognition it has become the best that the world is enjoying.

Economic Growth: Nigeria became Africa’s largest economy by GDP in 2014, and they are still moving for the best we face challenges but we will come out of it.

Education Expansion: Nigeria is really growing when it comes to education, Nigeria now has over 200 universities and institutions, producing professionals across fields, in Nigeria we the people are very intelligent that is why we produce the best all over the world the best doctor are Nigeria's even though a lot of them are working in other countries because of how good they are.

Some people does not know what democracy is and they think that Nigerian is not having democracy but that is not true.

Economic Growth: Nigeria became Africa’s largest economy by GDP in 2014, and they are still moving for the best we face challenges but we will come out of it.

Nigeria is almost 3 times lower in GDP in 2025 if 2014 is compared to what happened till now. 2018 has been a very tough time till now with high inflation rate and falling economy.

Although Nigeria is older than its official age, whenever I argue about this, people shut me down by saying our age should only be counted from when Nigeria gained independence in 1960. Yes, we celebrate Independence Day, but truly, our growth and maturity as a nation do not yet correspond with our years.

Over the decades, Nigeria has seen both progress and setbacks. Today, we can say there has been some improvement: technology has advanced compared to the past, and our population has grown significantly. The inflation rate has reduced slightly, though prices of goods are still high for the common man. A new tax policy is being introduced, and recently we adopted a new national anthem. The present government is putting in effort to stabilize things, but governing a nation of over 200 million people is never easy.

I also learned that for many years, big digital companies like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok operated freely in Nigeria without paying taxes. Now, under the Tinubu administration, they are mandated to pay tax. New  Increment of comapny tax and Vat. This has helped to boost national revenue, and as a result, Nigeria souce of inocome is not only on crude oil state allocations have increased significantly. This is a positive step, but more needs to be done to ensure the money is used transparently for the benefit of the people.

Yet, one area where our leaders have failed us, and it pains me deeply, is the issue of insecurity. Many farmers cannot go to their farms, and travelers live in fear on our highways. Families are broken, and dreams are cut short. How long will it take for our leaders to tackle this head on? Until security is restored, no amount of economic policy will truly bring relief to the common citizen.

Another big challenge is our trade imbalance; our importation still outweighs our exportation. Which has negative impact on our economy because local industries suffer the set back and farmers cannot longer realise their input from their output as result of importation.

It is a remarkable day to remember as every October 1st is set aside as a day to celebrate the day Nigerian got her independence, and for day 1st October 2025 make Nigerian 65 years old from the day we gained freedom of standing on our own, it is very bad at 65years Nigerian citizen are still suffering from many things in the country and looking at the promises that the president make this morning, promise that every citizen of Nigerian will be engaged in something doing without minding the background you coming from, and which those promise will be fulfilled one because we are tired of this politice promises.

Nigeria is a great nation, I'm happy and proud to be a Nigerian, Nigeria is a nation that the citizens are very hard working and respectful a nation where children respect and obey their elders a nation that morality is taking to a good height a nation that does not support unnatural behavior a nation that stand with the right behavior of humans, one good thing I love about this nation is that no
matter the condition they try to become the best.
Yes I know we are facing some challenges such as insecurity, poor infrastructure, but the nation is trying all it's best to come out of it.
The only problem we are having as a nation is some few politicians who are very evil they carry out fake project they don't even complete some of their projects they are the problem we have in this country and if they can be made to be heard accountable with the law then I believe it won't be a problem anymore.

Happy independence day to you all Nigerians, Nigeria is 65years old today, I will like to explain this to everyone of us here as a Nigerians, this simply means that today marks 65years of our freedom from the hands Britain and became a nation,it also means that 1st October 19960 Nigerians where allowed to start living on our own, take control of our nation ,to manage and control all our resources to manufacture develop and competite with other countries and to become the best nation so far if we can, and we started and today we are 65years old today, and I want to ask what have been our achievements so far, what can we boost of, what can we be proud of as an independent nation? Do you know that things are more better for us,when we are still young of age than now that we are 65years old ,as we grow older things are getting worst.why did I said that is because I could remember back in the days when was a child,every 1st of October is always like a Christmas day, because every Nigerians normally comes out in mass to celebrate the independence day and it is always a thing of joy,but today almost everybody in this country are not happy with the way things are going,the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting pooier,alot of things has gone wrong in this country,we are not as if we gain our freedom,it looks like we are still under the colonized masters... let's tell ourselves the truth, are you proud of this country at the age 65years today please? Please give me one(1) reasonable reason why I should be proud or you are proud of this country ? So I think people are really celebrating new month of October and not actually independent, because I don't think we have actually gotten our independent.

Let's not take because it's independence day and lie to ourselves. At least the independence day should be a day of reflection on how far we have come as a country, where we got it right and where we have got it wrong. Do some comparisons and look for ways to improve on the areas we have been going wrong. Op you and I know that our country has not made any meaningful progress since independence to this day. A country that can not protect it's citizens is a failed country. The list is too many and am sure you know the truth yourself. Nevertheless Happy independence Naija!!

Nigeria is the only country in Africa that has been able to maintain consistent democratic progress. Although in the past, military rule took over and replaced democracy, democracy has survived to this day. However, this democratic spirit has not yet been deeply established within us Nigerians and in this regard we are still lagging behind.

The faster the influence of culture moves in step with modernization the faster we Nigerians will be able to move forward. We have already created a significant position in the world of culture and film, but if we can improve further, it will be possible to create a stronger position internationally.

Looking at the economy, it is difficult to talk about growth now compared to 2014. Because the country's economy is currently immersed in various crises. Excessive inflation is making the lives of the people miserable. If this inflation is not brought under control, the economy may head towards a bigger disaster.

Education Expansion: Nigeria is really growing when it comes to education, Nigeria now has over 200 universities and institutions, producing professionals across fields, in Nigeria we the people are very intelligent that is why we produce the best all over the world the best doctor are Nigeria's even though a lot of them are working in other countries because of how good they are.

We were once very backward in the field of education but we are slowly moving forward. It is important to pay more attention to the Nigerian education system. If boys and girls can be educated through this system, they will be able to make a huge contribution to the nation and the country. For this, educational institutions must be made corruption-free and quality education must be ensured. If we can increase the quality of universities and raise them to international standards, we will be able to achieve a stronger position in the field of education.

Nothing Comot for wettin you talk, although I no hear wetting presido talk because e don Tay I even stop to dey listen to news and dos their promises. Whenever I dey remember how Nigeria been dey before and now, I dey feel like to cry. The country dey sink gradually, check the promise Dem don do since, no one Dem don achieve. Fuel prices still dey high, dollar to naira dey fall sotay our money no get value again. Now everything for market don cost, poor man no dey fit afford some kind food because of how expensive e come dey. The oda day I notice say Dem don dey sell indomie and macaroni for nylon because some people no fit afford am for pack, I nearly cry say naso we don fall reach.
