Hi I noticed some of my friends here on our country they were always playing online gambling even though they spent a lot of money. Most of the time I only play online games and some games on android phone like Mobile Legends and Diablo Immortal. I do not know which factors my friends get addicted on playing online gambling. Even when we are busy in our office he is also busy playing this online gambling game. I do not know of him on how it started on having addiction to that game that he played everyday. He already spent a lot of money but still he played that game. Did some of you before got addicted like my friend but already stopped playing those kind of game and what are the reasons you stop playing online gambling?

1. Greed: When a gambler is greedy, then he will always be found running after his loss by playing the more to have more chances of winning in a bid to recover, because he has the mentality that he cant afford to let go of the loss.

Poverty and greed, most gambling addicts are poor people, they play gamble to get out of poverty and at the end they become more addictive because gambling will not get you out of poverty, it's a lucky game. If you're losing money , it's advisable to quit for a while, if you are greedy, you might take loan to continue staking.  Greedy people don't stop or take break when they are losing much in gambling, they will borrow or steal money just to play gamble.  Do not be greedy, because gambling will always be here. Poverty, greed and depression are three main factors although gambling due to depression isn't common with a lot of people but the first and second are major factors. In my country poverty is the reason why people keep engaging in gambling. Whenever I walk into a bet shop I always see people who are broke in front of a computer either playing sport virtuals or parlays just to make quick money to solve their problems

It might be that your friends are not addicted, just because you are not gambling the way they all gamble doesn't mean they are addicted. So long as they are not borrowing money to gamble, I'm sure they are not yet to be called addicted gamblers. If they are addicted, they will borrow money to gamble and they will not even have time to go to work. Although you said they also gamble when you guys are in the office but it might be that they only gamble when they are not doing anything at the office.

It is either dopamine or adrenaline addiction. Your body makes dopamine when you are happy, and adrenaline when you are in panic. Most people are addicted to either of both of these states and they want it to continue forever. Most people are aware of that they can't get rich from gambling in the long run but they still play because of that. People play mobile or PC games for the same reason. He failed to prioritize his activities, gambling when he shouldn't is a serious case of misplacement of priority and indiscipline. Since he's not able to separate business with pleasure, the possibility of serious addiction is high which has finally caught up with him.

He's addicted already and now he's chasing loses, he'll not stop now unless he realizes his errors or he runs out of funds. He needs help, maybe you as good friend can help control him but first talking to him, if he's ready to change then he can choose a new hobby and slowly replace his addiction with it and you should be ready to seize his gadget anytime you catch him gambling unnecessarily.

I've been there in the past, mine was caused by greed and misplacement of priorities like your friend and it took me a lot of efforts, years to be precise to get over it.

Whatever thing that you gives too much attention will also results to addiction, addiction doesn't only comes from gambling but could be triggered by many things our there and, of a true this can start affecting the way you behave, reasoning and handle physical and life matters. Perhaps he should undergo a clinical diagnosis or receive some form of treatment to determine what is happening to him. I can see some forum users say that poverty and greed could be the reason why your friend is addicted to gambling but reading your thread carefully it shows that your friend isn't poor because he works and makes money so poverty is out of the game. Your friend is probably addicted to gambling because he finds peace in gambling and it's his get away from stress thing to do always, some people gamble for fun while some gamble to overcome boredom or relieve themselves from anxiety, it could be that your friend have a lot of unsaid things in his mind and he is finding it difficult to handle his gambling attitude because that is where he finds solace.

Your English isn't quite clear but it's understandable.  You friend prefer gambling to playing your regular games. He is more of a risk taker and someone who feels it's better off getting rewards in return for his time spent gambling. In a way he might be addicted already. And from what you said he already shows a lot of signs of an addicted gambler. Since you are he's friend, you can try to talk to him to reduce the time he spends gambling so it doesn't turn into something else.

The worst might happen and he will be noticed even by other people in your work place. He just have to know that he has to be abel to control the urge to gamble..

To gambler the factor that keeps them going back to the platform is the leisure achieved while playing the game.  Since they are betting money, another factor is the aim to win.  It is either revenge gambling or they have to maintain the dopamine's need of euphoria feelings.  Greed may also be one of the factor since the person maybe chasing a huge win which resulted to gambling addiction.

I always try to limit myself, so I can't say that I got addicted, got hooked, maybe, but it is a different thing from being a gambling addict.

How ever gambling addiction is one thing that happens to an individual unknownly and the worst is that, most gambling addicts don't even know and will not admit that they are addicted. This is were the problem lies because one quick way to dealing with Gambling addiction is your recognition of the fact that you are addicted. I would say that the reason why people easily become addicted to gamble is due to greed and lack of discipline, your friend is not discipline and he's also lacking self control. gambling is supposed to be done at your convenient time that's when you must have return back from work or finish with whatever thing you're doing, gambling when you're still busy with other things is very wrong. Well that is gambling addiction for you, you start gradually in a small way and enter the bigger way, and when you've reach the height of it, it becomes difficult to stop. One thing that spikes gambling addiction is greed and lack of self decipline. When you are a greedy type, you always think you must make it through gambling without considering the consequences involve. You keep on trying and trying till you have no bankroll to try any longer. First of it all, In gambling am not an addicted gambler, but I have an idea on what could lead to someone having addiction starting from the way he gambles and the time he spent on gambling, I know we could have passion for gambling, but things have to be done in a more appropriate manner as we are gambling, we have to respect the principles to what is expected of us to do, follow the gambling rules from each casino don't chase after money, create time for other things aside gambling everyday.
