It’s not a bad wallet but it’s a close source wallet according to my knowledge, it is also a multi chain wallet, personally I prefer to use bitcoin only wallet to actually store my bitcoin and my go to wallet most especially hot wallet is Electrum for desktop and BlueWallet wallet for mobile device. I see this two as better alternative than exodus to store bitcoin and then you can use your exodus for Altcoins storage

Holding btc and eth,
I’ve seen Stack Wallet and AlphaWallet, they’re both open source and mobile but haven’t used either of them

Your say as if total value of crypto you own isn't far from 10k. If you mean 10 thousand USD, you really should consider switch to hardware wallet (such as Trezor). If you happen to hold unpopular or controversial coin, FYI exodus regularly remove support for unpopular coin and some time ago remove support for XMR.

ABCbits posted this before me, I saw his post while I was about on post to this thread. If you have $10000, that is far higher than a hardware wallet. If you need a multi coin hardware wallet, you can get Trezor, like Safe 3 or Safe 5. If you need a bitcoin wallet, you can get Foundation Passport which is one of my best hardware wallet.

Or you can have your wallet on an airgapped device instead. You can use unstoppable for it for altcoins. Electrum, Sparrow or Bluewallet for bitcoin only. Airgapped devices are completely offline and not connected online. Bluetooth and WiFi cards are removed from the device.

I also vote for buying a hardware wallet, as the two friends above mentioned, hehehe
A Trezor Safe 3 for $79 is not a high cost and it's reliable

But if you still don't want to buy anything, I would use Electrum with an offline-generated seed to store BTC, and you can use Exodus to store ETH
That way, you have two separate wallets and greater security

Well, at least it is a trusted wallet and not worse than the others, even though it's closed source which I know many people don't like here. However, if you are looking to invest a serious amount, and I believe 10k is a serious amount, consider buying a hardware wallet. It will save your money and tears.

Exodus had some bad reviews before, and some people experienced stuck transactions, if I remember correctly.
But I don't experience those issues when I use Exodus.

Since it has past issues before I don't recommend this wallet to newbies.
Just like other suggested having a hardware wallet is much safer than using Exodus.

Choose a hardware wallet with open source code because it is way safer than using a ledger.

No. I recommend Safe 3, which supports multiple ccoins

I just said that if you don't buy a hardware wallet, I would split it into two wallets, Electrum and another one, possibly Exodus if you prefer it for ETH

But if you choose a Trezor, buy the traditional model that supports multiple coins
I also believe that the only thing that changes from one version to another is the firmware, and you can change it yourself if you want

Congratulations, you made a good purchase in my opinion  Wink
It's the same wallet I'm currently using

Were you able to buy it directly from Trezor?

I've never bought crypto with a debit card, and I don't know which country you're from
If your country has a local board here on the forum, I think you can get better help there

yes I bought it directly from trezor, there was a website selling them local to my country I think but I went with trezor overseas and paid through btc, im from new zealand btc looks to never be legal tender here, and the atms were recently taken away cause of "money laundering" like they couldn't just put more cameras and other measures in place, I think that the country wants to control the residents and their money, xD

edit: easycrypto in nz was the site selling the safe 3 but the website was glitching on the screen when I was on the site so it just felt unprofessional I decided on the longer wait time and purchase directly from trezor for safety and peace of mind

I do not recommend Exodus Wallet. It is frequently targeted by hackers and because of the closed-source nature of the software, you will never know if it has any vulnerabilities or not.

Use another wallet such as Electrum, Sparrow Wallet, Cake Wallet or Wasabi/Ginger.

Or just use a hardware wallet, seeing as you've already bought one. The wallet software above work with them anyway.

In addition,  if all above is not enough and you still give it a try, don't  ever try to   use their in-app swap feature. Exodus is a non custodial  although closed sourced and not recommended either. Even with that painted all over them, you could  still lose your coin/tokens using their in-app swap feature as it's  offered through multiple  third-parties which can make your coin/tokens you're trying to swap dissapear using some KYC bullsh*t excuses.

Their in-app swap feature, amongst other things is a good reason why Exodus wallet is not recommended. They route swaps without any prior notice of the service it will be routed through, and they have quite a few shady selective scammers as exchange providers. N.exchange has to be to most notorious of them all and if you visit the scam accusation section, you would agree with me on that i'm sure.

This is not the only wallet that provides third-party swap exchange, and the majority of the 3rd parties listed require KYC. The only problem is that they do not warn users about the risk and the KYC requirement, which leads to users being trapped and funds being stuck on the exchange.

Users who are experiencing this issue are blaming Exodus Wallet, but the truth is that Exodus has nothing to do with those funds because these exchanges are controlled by a third party, though I believe Exodus is taking commissions on successful trades.
That's the reason why some users call this wallet a scam, but the wallet itself is fine if you don't use those 3rd-party exchanges.
