Hi all, The Bitcoin Hole is a website that includes detailed comparisons of top Bitcoin hardware wallets. The project has been active for some time and keeps track of the main devices used for self-custody. You’ll find: * Comparison of more than 60 hardware wallets * Side-by-side comparisons of the main hardware wallets. * Pages for each device with specs, release dates, etc. * Price tracking so you can see when one goes on sale. * Coupon discounts with exclusive deals. Check it out here: https://thebitcoinhole.com/hardware-walletsBehind the site there’s also an open-source database with all the specs and metadata, available here: https://github.com/thebitcoinhole/database. Anyone can collaborate to help keep the information as correct, honest, and neutral as possible. Any feedback is welcomed. Thanks --- BTW, This thread is replacing an old one, using an old user. If admins can remove it, would be nice: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5416497.0

You are not new to many of us on this forum.
I can still remember that you have a thread about it on this forum, but this one will be allowed if the thread is about software wallet, but underneath it you included hardware wallet with it.
It was an excellent work from you. I noticed that you are also upgrading your website. That is good.

It's difficult to include that on the website right now. It is not matching any of the current categories.

* Side-by-side comparisons of the main hardware wallets.
Considering that we're limited to comparing two products at a time, I think it'd be better to expand the numbers in this regard and perhaps you can bring it to the filter section as well [another drop-down beneath brand selection in the company/project section].

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction... I'm not sure how I missed it [my bad (SMH)], but I noticed this way doesn't lead to shareable or unique links, that's present when we compare two HWs on each of the dedicated HW pages. Is it possible to get such links through this method as well?

Referring to a thread created by @dkbit98 I just saw a new hardware wallet G-Knot being released, and from my understanding it is not using any passwords and seed phrases. ..................... G-Knot new hardware with a different security innovation, uses The world's First Finger Vein Biometric for hardware wallets. It is now still in the Pre-Order period. → Only 10,000 units → Limited time price: $299 → Includes $50 in GKNT tokens! → No seed phrases. Ever. https://store.g-knot.io/https://www.g-knot.io/our-hardware-wallethttps://www.g-knot.io/our-technology

thebitcoinhole can you consider adding more hardware wallets on your website? I recently discovered interesting new hardware wallet called Keypal 2, that is coming from China. They also have older device Keypayl Plus, but that is currently out of stock. https://www.keypal.store/products/keypal-2

In terms of price, it is also clear that the Keypal 2 is priced at $199 as the original price and the Safepal X1 is still priced at $69, the price difference is different in quality, of course.

Agreed, the similarity is obvious. Besides, both are manufactured in Singapore, not in China as dkbit98 mentioned for KeyPal, which is “created by TokenPocket Foundation Ltd., based in Singapore.” SafePal Ltd. is based in Singapore as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone eventually suggests there’s the hint of industrial espionage involved.

Yeah, and design is almost the same as old calculators, but important thing is what is inside. I was talking about place where Keypal device is made, and that is China. Besides that, Chinese language is the main language spoken in Singapore, with 74% of population being Chinese.

Nice catch... Not sure how they managed to stay under the radar for this long [it's nice to see both of their HWs come with a SE], but considering that they've been operating since 2021, perhaps you should create a dedicated thread about their products. - BTW, in addition to what @taufik123 mentioned, the very first thing that caught my attention was how similar the monochrome version of their logo is to the "original logo of Ledger"... I hope this isn't their sister company or any connection between the two.

Well, now you’ve cleared the air on the matter. Then, we can say that almost all hardware wallets are Chinese, since they either made there or assembled from various parts manufactured in China. Even Passport wallets which are assembled in US are made from parts sourced from China circumstance which is my view is bad, as it can be understood from Zach talk in one of his video.

It's not that long actually, Keypal 2 was released only as presale and I think they didn't start shipping ordered devices yet. They had older version Keypal Plus but that is out of stock currently, and I talked mentioned it before in one of my topics. Note that I would not recommend anyone buying this devices.

You're right about their latest product, but I was referring to their existence as a whole [perhaps this isn't the only HW brand that primarily focuses on local markets]. but if this product comes from China and then it is not surprising if it starts from the same body or HW shape as Safepal and the same logo as Ledger, They duplicate with improved features.
You have a point, but I'm not sure the features on products coming out of China are necessarily an improved version of existing products made elsewhere [unfortunately, they tend to introduce other issues as well]. @thebitcoinhole A couple of corrections and a small update: - ERA Wallet has finally added a bitcoin-only firmware [source]. - I noticed X profiles for both SafePal [extra "i" at the beginning] and Ellipal [it shouldn't have "wallet" in it] are incorrect.

I know what you mean, a product from China that copies some famous products and gives features that look better in terms of specifications on paper, that's just an attraction but not a continuous development and there will be more problems because of the imperfect features. Many similar electronic products end up just being garbage because there is no sustainable development, only following the hype and attracting the attention of the market.
