I have never experienced any of those. But during my early days in this forum, I got lots of unsolicited messages via pm and telegram as well. I remember once when I made a post about using bitcoin the decentralized way. I got a PM from an unknown person who reached out to me telling me there are other likeminds like me called "the bitcoin maximalist" and will help me if I want to transfer all my savings to bitcoin.

And among all the social media we have, we have X, which is formerly known as Twitter, and Telegram, which is the paradise for these scammers. You should always expect unsolicited PMs from that place unless you set your profile to be private.

You are right. We shouldn't only watch out for newbie accounts for these scam messages, the suspected scammer who sent me that unsolicited message was actually a full member then. A scammer can buy a high ranking account from this forum and use it for the purpose of scamming innocent newbies. That is a major challenge we shouldn't ignore. The most important things newbies should take note of is that they do not neccessarily need to pay attention to every offer thrown to them. Simple friendly messages like that can lead to unforgettable regrets.

Personally I have not experienced any hack and not willing to experience such but I had heard it from people. And in this forum too we have been advised to secure our wallets and most of us are securing it with all alacrity (all ways, strength and method) Many people fall in those scammers hand because of greediness to acquire more bitcoins. And also clicking of suspicious links which lead them to be hacked.
And to avoid hacking, you must not thinking of doubling you investment bitcoins in a dubious means and don't click links that you don't know.

I guess everybody here remember ICO booms in 2017 when ICOs lunched in daily basis creating chances for users to join bounties and earn tokens. I participated in one of those bounties and it was required to join slack channel. The token was developped at top of ethereum so we always need to use the pk for eth address to send tokens. I received a Slack email with a link to a fake copy of myetherwallet gate. I insert my pk then nothing happen. I forgot about it until i received the reward token from the campaign worth 60$ at that time but when i access my wallet i found that they were moved to unknown address. This was the only incident happen to me.

Luckily I haven’t been hacked, but I’ve seen enough stories to take security very seriously. The main lesson is simple: never keep large amounts on exchanges, always back up your seed phrase offline, and use hardware wallets when possible. Most hacks happen because of weak practices, so tightening those habits is the best protection.

Well we do not have to experience such thing before we learn. We can already learn based on things that we see online. Make surr we do not repeat the same mistakes and try as much as possible to fight off hacks before they even happens by ensuring security and precautions.

Am yet to have an experience and never prayed to have any now or later in the future, because I know its a costly one which I can't afford to let some hoodlums take over what have toiled for over time, the best to do as for now is in ensuring for prevention which is better than cure, we must not learn the hard way before knowing what it takes to maintain high security level for our bitcoin asset, the Mt Gox victims and other related hacks could tell more about their experience losing all they have.

Dont ever pray to have such experience. If you hear the disappointing stories from individuals who have had this experience you wouldn't want to even have a tip of it.

Prevention is the best defense in Bitcoin security. Many individuals end up taking security measure seriously after they must have experience their first love. Also be careful of setting securities that may be too difficult for you to remember in the future.

I once experienced a clipboard hijacking attack when sending a BTC payment to someone, although the BTC is not huge, but I am not happy about the experience.
After the attack, I immediately noticed it happened through a particular app I downloaded through the Google Play Store on the day of the incident, because I also did a BTC payment the day before, and nothing happened.

The step I took is to factory reset the phone, add an internet security to my phone, and always check the threat and privacy related to every app on Google Play Store on Exodus before downloading it.
Another thing i did was create a thread and pass the knowledge i got through the experience to advise and tell people what to do about the privacy and security of the keyboard and the downloading of the apps Google Play Store.

Most of those newbies that do send PMs  to forum members, most of them have Alt accounts on the forum, and they are high rank accounts, they know if the can send all those messages with their main account, it’s going to be reported, and they will end up losing the account, so they prefer making use of newbie account, because they know they can easily create another account and continue with their bad behavior if they lose their newbie account. If you receive any personal messages on the forum, make sure you don’t provide them with your sensitive informations.

You have more chances of receiving DMs from scammers in messenger applications like Telegram and scammers there often focus on new members of Telegram groups.

I hardly reply Dms from Telegram because it’s just full of scammers, I don’t really make use of my telegram for any business, so am not always expecting any valuable information from my telegram, so if I receive message from a random person, then I do know they are scammers, and I don’t even waste my time replying them.
