Which do you trust more: Review Sites or Forums?

I’ve been thinking about this… when it comes to crypto casinos, exchanges, or even wallets, which source do you guys actually trust more?

On one hand, you have review websites that look polished and claim to test everything but many of them earn through affiliate links, so maybe they’re not 100% unbiased.

On the other hand, you’ve got forums like Bitcointalk (our own), Reddit, and other communities where people have been posting for years. The info might be messy, but you get real experiences from actual users.

Question: Which one would you rely on more, and why?
Do you prefer structured reviews from websites, or raw feedback from long-standing forums with thousands of users?

I go through forums and Reddit, and that always does the job, if there is no content yet on subject I am seeking input on, I create topic about it and it always gets the job done; this is because I like to hear multiple view points and come to conclusion by my own, whereas review sites often have perspective of single individual.

Honestly, I haven’t really checked gambling review sites (casinos + sportsbooks). Even just here in our forum, you can already see which casinos are popular. You can check their announcement threads and see for yourself if they’re getting good or bad feedback.

So I can’t compare directly with review sites, but I think here it’s more reliable. It’s not biased since anyone can post whether positive or negative, and most of the time, feedback can be verified by other members too.

It's public forums for sure because that is where the actual experience will be shared and discussed in detailed, whereas in review websites they can chose what they want us to show and what kind of reviews should be visible and it's a way of making money for them so we can never be completely sure what they are shared will be 100% and unbiased.

To prove my point just go to google and search the best crypto exchange then you will see thousands of websites which will list Binance and coinbase in their list and all the remaining will be some unknown websites that may have bad reputation in the past.

I will prefer this forum in review or personal opinions about wallets, exchanges and noncustodial wallets because just one person or few people will run a reviewing site without anyone correcting them, unlike on this forum that you can say your personal opinion and another person will quote you and which you might agree on. You do not just talk about the reviews on this site but you also correct each other.

I prefer reviews from forums like this one and any other forum that has many members who are actively following up on things and are curious to ask questions and verify. If not for anything else, here in this forum you can't buy reviews; even if you try to convince one person, you can't convince all. There will always be honest people to challenge some of the biased reviews, which might make no sense or are done based on interest.

I think forums should be trusted more. People rarely go online on review based platforms to share something positive. More often we get complains of bad service, how unfair (according to them) casino acted. And people go to review sites to write a positive review for money. Forum posts have more variety and if it is possible to say more independent (people discuss casino in general, than write only bad or good about it).

I will do and make a search about a particular crypto casinos and see how it goes. But as far as trust goes, definitely this forum is one of the best source. Those who review or has experience with casino really tell everything here even if it is bad. And so with that, it really help most of the gamblers here to stay away from a new casino or stick with it and test it out.

And there could be review campaigns here and it's just the same. Gamblers are going to give their honest review even if they are going to be paid by the casino itself. And it even can collaborate what other community might have to say to that particular casino like reddit or any other gambling related website.

Review sites are mostly paid to promote. I would never believe it. I know forum seems also pretty similar cuz some promoters, but there are still many honest reviews from the members. You can make comparison the experience written by any members in the forum. However, it's impossible when it comes to the review sites.

This forum makes me not to make more research about casinos again, the research begin on this forum and I check if the site is not a good site but the surprising thing is that none of them that I have searched for before as been reviewed bad before. Either they are reviewed good or I do not see any reviews about them. Be it any of the two, I can still use small amount of money to gamble on the casinos to test them and see how they are. This forum has been a good source of useful information in knowing a good casinos for me

I don't have full trust on the reviews provided by those review websites since we don't know if they really do good assessment toward those casinos they are putting on their sites.

I'd rather go on forums like Bitcoin talk or even on other options on which people discuss feely about what's happening with those casinos they are actively playing. Since with that we can get more clearer insights about real situation happening since we can read up multiple opinions from real people. I have this feeling this feeling that review websites can be paid since I've seen for many times that they give 5 star review on a clear or well known scam casinos.

Forums, no question about it.
Review websites are quite easy to mess with and fill with positive reviews, which are nothing but shilling participations encouraged by shady casinos themseleves, those websites do not have a system of trust and reputation for each one of their members so each review is treated with the same importance.
In forums there is a system of trust, reputation and history for all users, so it is easier to find people with an actual reputation giving honest opinions for services.
It just takes a look at trust-pilot, it is a complete mess in their reviews to shady casinos likes 1xbit and 1xbet, it is not reliable. I prefer to visit communities like this forum or reddit and read what veteran users have to say.

When it comes to casinos, I'll definitely rely on the opinions and reviews on the forum. There are several well-respected casinos on the forum that I personally recommend to my friends. Everything else, including certain digital products sold online or reviews of products sold offline, I check on review sites, although I understand that many reviews are simply paid for by advertisers. I'm lazy enough to leave a review for no apparent reason, so I think reviews should be treated with great caution, and the forum is the only place where you can get real feedback from essentially neutral people.

I will rather prefer getting a review from transparent forum like here where you get the honest opinion from long time experienced members here who knows how to easily identify scams and say it as it is, not some other platforms that will lie about the performance or features of the platform they reviewed. Many other platforms out there doesn't give a honest review but are paid to talk good about in the review.

I used to work on website creation as part of my job, and I can say with confidence that a website will only feature reviews that benefit its owner. Moreover, some of those reviews might even be written by the owner themselves. That’s why I trust independent platforms where people can leave reviews, such as forums, much more. There, you’re far more likely to read genuine feedback, since you can see users’ profiles, how long they’ve been on the forum, and their trust level, which helps distinguish real reviews from bots.

Perhaps I have a biased opinion and I'm not being objective, for obvious reasons, like my colleagues above, but I also go for forums and that's what I would recommend too. Not because I believe that there are no interested comments also here, but because I have seen that in review websites their reviews are usually relatively flattering, even with very bad casinos. Is charging these companies for their review service part of their business model? While I have that doubt, what is clear to me is that in forums like this one people can freely share their honest opinions, whether they're good or bad, and the readers can draw their own conclusions.

Most review sites like askgambler have gambling forums attached to it where they get direct responses from players and casino representatives who come to answer and resolve complaints . However, review sites are easy to go through and conclude, forums make up the source to writing reviews through healthy conversations on individual takes and expectations.

100 percent forums.

This is where real people are. People who have experienced the application and may have used it for a long time. For new applications, they may be the beta testers who took the risk and played and shared the knowledge on how it works.

Reputation comes from people and not from review sites. I doubt those sites because I believe most of them are paid for the review. There are only a few who will do it for the good of everyone and earn through their own ads.

I don't use review sites anymore. This forum is big. Most of the time, I will find what I am looking for here.

I have always trusted the informations I get here more especially about  exchanges and as well casinos and wallets, because we don't promote scam platforms here. Moreover we still bring in update about those scam platforms that is outside the forum so as for people to stay very clear from such platform.

In this case i think long-standing forum with thousands of users is more preferable than structured reviews from website because those websites may not be able to provide all the informations you need, but in a forum where there's thousands of users you will be getting different informations from different angles and from different people both inside and outside the internet.

I think it all depends on the forum, I mean if it's a forum I spend a lot of time on and the reviews are left by users I see often and who have a good reputation, then there's no need to worry, I'll trust the reviews on that forum from those users. If it's some other forum I rarely visit, it won't make much of a difference to me. On review sites, I can only look at the overall rating, but I'm unlikely to read the reviews themselves, because I'll trust them less.
