A cry within me and all Nigerians, for freedom of expression accountability and justice.
It is clear that we Nigerians have been struggling right from when Nigeria gained her independence (1960), we have both leave in silence under oppression from whence we became Nigerians

We are indepted in so many ways;
Divers of unresolved issues, economy crisis, injustice, corruption, bad governance, insecurity, suppression and oppression, bad leadership, Hardship, Unemployment, all this among others not mentioned.

I decided to make a simple hand drawn(quick sketch) artwork. A symbolic drawing with deep meaning and bold mirror of Nigeria's reality

We all 'SEE' the truth 'BUT CAN'T SPEAK'
A country that is supposed to protect and serve its people denies them all the right to stand and speak for the truth.
In my art work, the current context of Nigeria's situation was detailed as follows;

THE EYES THAT SEES: signifies awareness by the general public not be blinded to the corruption, insecurity, poverty, injustice, bad governance, unemployment, suppression, natural resources misuse and others.

THE HAND: the Nigeria system that we the citizens are supposed to lean on are the ones that denies our freedom our right to stand and speak for the truth. Nigeria system (government and leadership) silence the general public;
we can't speak about injustice
We can't speak for our freedom
we can't demand accountability
the fear to speak the truth because of oppression, intimidation, harassment, unlawful arrest and public violence

CAN'T SPEAK : The phrase that reflects the pain and voicelessness of the general public.
'we are only told to endure and adapt to every situation we find ourselves'

Creative, nice and directed message indeed. This reflects explicitly the conditions in our dear country and it's suffers me a lot that we're our own enemies under the very conditions we find ourselves.

Once I would try to make this simple about my view of the situation that bedevils us. Yea it's as though we can't speak from what we're seeing but it's actually not that way. The problem is that the oppressed have refused to unite but have allowed themselves divided because of the crumbs the falls from the tables of the oppressors into their plates. And whenever a group rises to want to speak against the injustice, insecurities, hunger and hardship it's same those that are oppressed that give themselves to the oppressors to be used to fight against those speaking for their own liberation. That's just the simple truth of the Nigeria situation.

Sometimes my thoughts about the situation that surrounds us in this country is overwhelming because I will say we see everything that is wrong, the injustice, insecurity, hardship and the rest yet we keep quiet about it. Truth to be told not that we can't speak but it's just that we've lost our togetherness in speech.
At a time people had the power to stand together, speak together but today as we can see that togetherness is not there the people are not broken by the power of the elite or the oppressors but by the little fragment they accept just to survive base on how the economy has become. To tell you that the system feeds on our silence and as we fight one another for little gains there will be no unity among us to challenge the roof of our suffering. I most say we are not short of people who can't see but those who dare to speak together.

Because the way our leaders are corrupt, it makes other countries to look us like we too are corrupt. However the fact that injustice is much in our country, it makes me wonder when it will even stop. Actually, Nigeria just got plus one year few days ago but can this new era makes Nigeria government to change? NO because only the rich have upper hands in this country, so the poor don't have the power to speak. But I still believe that one day things will change and most of all this things we witness almost everyday will be no more.

However the fact that injustice is much in our country, it makes me wonder when it will even stop. Actually, Nigeria just got plus one year few days ago but can this new era makes Nigeria government to change? NO because only the rich have upper hands in this country, so the poor don't have the power to speak. But I still believe that one day things will change and most of all this things we witness almost everyday will be no more.

Everything has a fall but the way our Nigerian leaders are corrupting seems like they will never fall. They are taking the country to a state where nothing is possible except corruption. It is painful to think when the rich are getting priority in everything but my poor helpless brothers and sisters are being oppressed and oppressed every day. There is no one to stand by the poor helpless people in our country, there is only how to corrupt.

However, one thing must be remembered when people become filled with injustice and wickedness while committing corruption then God calls for their fall. No one in this world has ever escaped corruption. Maybe they are temporarily saved from the hands of our people but God will not give up in any way. ‌Our country needs to be free from corruption, we need to stand by the poor helpless people, we need to move the country towards development, but nothing is happening. ‌ When I think about these, I feel very disappointed. Where will it end? When will we turn around? When will the helpless people of our country get peace?

Nice art concept you have here and the idea is what resonate well with the majority of us because we have been living in this bad reality for so long a time. The unfortunate thing is that things have degenerated into a situation where you see things and even try to speak out but the effect of what you have brought to the public attention is not taking seriously and the government in their own corner try everything possible to silent you completely

with the media space a bit active, freedom of speech is a bit effective but the follow up after a matter as been brought to the attention of those in authority is dyeing by the day which has gone a long way to break the trust that the public has that should even compel them to speak up at a time it becomes necessary.
