Building a Bitcoin Education "Center/Company" | Most important lessons/topics?

Hi Guys

I recently started building my own Bitcoin Education Center/Company together with my sister.

We want to focus on absolut newbies with lessons and meetups and help the mass education take place.

So i wanted to ask y'all what in your opinion is the most important stuff/topics to teach or with what stuff/topics you had the most success orangepilling friends and family?


My thought was something like this with these three being the main topics:

1. History of money - because you never learn anything about that in school and i think the people get a better feeling for what money is and where it comes from.
2. Problem side/Fiat-System - because if you want to understand the solution, you must understand the problem first.
3. Solution/Bitcoin - because we all know how much freedom bitcoin can bring each individual.

You can of course leave every kind of tipp, experience or criticism you have as long as it is helpfull and creates more value for the people on this forum and for me.

If you just want to fuck around and try to make fun of me or something like that, go fuck yourself.

It is great news to know that you want to promote Bitcoin through this initiative. It's indeed a noble task.

You already have a good scheme of work.  Knowing the loopholes of the fiat system and introducing Bitcoin as a good alternative is a good instructional step to follow. You are simply moving from the known to the unknown whiich is a good teaching strategy. After this foundational stage based  on their age and interest, they can be introduced to:
1. How to use Bitcoin
2. Wallets
3. Security

This information could help develop your next scheme.

Well that's what the most Bitcoiners share when they want to explain Bitcoin for new people, I don't see it's wrong.

What I hope you should tell them to use Bitcoin in decentralized way, but this is hard to explain for new people. So you can make it simpler, instead of explain to install Bitcoin Core and run full node, you could suggest to use electrum or any other wallet which not require to run full node.

This is a smart move and I wish you and your sister well on this project you are embarking on. However, I expect that you both already have everything figured out by now before building the Bitcoin center. You understand your environment better than we do; the extent of knowledge your people have about bitcoin and the government's stance on Bitcoin. You should know what exactly you want to teach them to achieve your aim.

Again, I want to emphasise on the need for you to gain sufficient knowledge before trying to teach other people. Many people are still skeptical about Bitcoin, so you should expect questions being thrown at you. If you cannot give them befitting answers (not overhyped or exaggerated answers) you might be looking like a clueless teacher in their eyes.

Challenges may come either from the government or some people with bad intentions who will feel because you educate people about Bitcoin, you have loads of bitcoins stored somewhere. So, be security conscious while you help people adopt bitcoin.

Well that's what the most Bitcoiners share when they want to explain Bitcoin for new people, I don't see it's wrong.

i agree its probably a bit to hard for new people, but i thought i will teach them about these things anyway just in a very rough way to show them, that they could (if they choose too) verify everything by themselfs and that they dont have to trust anybody and are in no dependency to anyone. you can also compare these things very good to our fiat-system where you are in big dependency.

thank you for your wishes! i think i have a lot of knowledge that i can share with other people and i'm not afraid of criticsm and questions about bitcoin. i try to find the mistake in bitcoin myself and try to look at it from every possible angel, so i'm prepared for a lot of questions etc. of course i dont know everything but since i woke up from the fiat-matrix and discovered bitcoin my life changed, i lowered my time preference and i am as hungry to work and learn new things like i never been before in my life. i have spent a lot of thoughts about the topic security and i'm setting everything up right now, that in case of an emergency i cant access my bitcoin wallet myself because its in a vault in a bank.

It is a bold step to go about building a center that would not only educate but it would educate on a currency of the future with massive potential to lift people out of poverty into wealth.

For me, I think that a comprehensive Bitcoin education center curriculum should teach lessons that cover foundational technology, economics and finance, security and practical use.

Such educational center curriculum should teach from the basic fundamental principles to the technical aspects and should be able to aid students with practice use case in the real world and while ensuring all this, if is your responsibility to check if the region has strict regulations supporting or not supporting Bitcoin and it should be known for proper and efficient implementation.

I won't hide my thoughts about your idea because we usually have to prioritise our safety first when thinking about educating people on the financial world. First off, a lot of people in our society today would consider any one with such initiatives a big crypto investor. And you are likely going to become a target. But regardless, your idea is honest and If you can carry it out successfully, it will also aid bitcoin adoption. We have so many people out there that still have no idea what bitcoin is and how live changing it can be. I'll advise you check the site learnmeabitcoin

Because I am gonna be honest and say that unless you would be teaching people how to trade, I don’t think people would pay to learn something easily found on the internet. building a center is propably a bit missleading from my side, we just want to build a small one too two person owned company where we organise lessons, workshops, brunches, events and meetups and help the regional community learn more about our money and that bitcoin is not just only a spekulative object.

profit may be a far away goal. for the beginning it should just be a little company together with my sister where we kind of create a small bitcoin community and get the position as "first responder" to all bitcoin related questions from family and friends. we also want to offer some kind of lessons, events, brunches, apéros for people interested in bitcoin and create a familiar and positiv learning environment.

and why exactly shows that, that we are not grounded? i am indeed a very grounded and humble person and our single goal with this is, that we can show the interested people what alternative they have to our centralized monetary system. i have spent way more than 100 of hours learning and studing bitcoin so i already did a lot of learning. i know i dont know all yet and that there is still a long way ahead but i never said i know everything. Docendo discimus.

do you think i dont know that there are very good informations and sites in the internet? its about bringing it closer to the people from our region and show them where they can find good information and that they have somebody to ask in real life if they have questions. i also think a lot of people out there are more than a newbie if its about knowing how our fiat-system works, therefor i think you must do a lot of basic stuff work so that these people get a little bit of a better understanding of the real problem.

Doing such needs something to consider. The country's government regulation on Bitcoin and also the people's interest on bitcoin. I don't know your country of residence but if it is African country, I don't think your government is crypto-friendly. And once your government is not crypto friendly then it will be hard to teach bitcoin.

Seeing this already is a motivation and you're making it more possible for your own self and many others that may comes after you in the same manner to offer to the people what they have acquired about bitcoin, it will be so important that you keep to being focus, letting aside all forms of distractions and discouragements that may weigh you down at the cause of getting it done, while I will employ that you focus more on specific areas of bitcoin.

Such could be about:

1. Bitcoin general education
2. History of bitcoin
3. Applications of bitcoin
4. The bitcoin wallets
5. Bitcoin nodes
6.BIPs
7. White paper

These are many more could more more areas of concentration you might wish to consider along side your plan.

Creating an avenue through which you can pass on your crypto knowledge to the teeming number our there without crypto knowledge is welcomed. But you should know you have to be heavily equipped with know from both in fiat and crypto finance to balance your teaching. I am thinking what your experience in the crypto industry is like and what projects has you been a part of relating to cryptocurrency so when you teaching you would be doing it base on practical experiences and not just theoretical knowledge.
