Forum software doesn't like Greek Letters?

I was trying to put some specific text at my profile's personal text.

I was going with the following:

Code:

Condoras Aθάνατoς

but for some reason it turns to the following after I try to update my profile.

Code:

Condoras Aθάνατ&#959

ο is the code for Greek small letter omicron: https://www.compart.com/en/unicode/U+03BF

Which is weird because if I input a couple of English characters at the end instead of oς this bug doesn't appear and the text shows normally. So...

Code:

Condoras Aθάνατos

Where os are just English language characters work fine.

But also when I just add a single Greek character at the end

Code:

Condoras Aθάνατoς

Where o is English and oς Greek it turns to

Code:

Condoras Aθάνατo&#96

This allures to the code for sigma ς https://www.compart.com/en/unicode/U+03C2

Anyway, pls fix.

It works on different app? Like sms/message app, or any chat apps when typing? As well as when posted/sms sent? Maybe it's browser/app issue? Not website (forum) issue.

Did you try typing Greek characters with your mobile or desktop keyboard?
This is maybe related with your keyboard layout if you are using desktop computer.
I noticed similar issues with personal text if you type more letters than it is allowed, or if you add unsupported emooji symbols.

I think the forum only implements 1 (or some) unicode character package, so the characters you entered aren't being read properly. This is especially true if you're using a custom system font for your device, whereas copy-pasting works because you've copied text that the system parses.

But what different character set could be there when typing vs when copy-pasting?

Could it be some error in the forum code counting the characters correctly when writing them in the box vs when pasting a whole phrase?

Maybe so, as I said before. If you look at the character model based on "ς" at https://www.compart.com/en/unicode/U+03C2, there are several kinds and my guess is the forum (or specifically for personal text) will only be able to parse a few of them. cmiiw
