Bitcoin offers something more than a lifeline for an entrepreneur in Nigeria. Indigenous entrepreneurs can relate with the ceaseless delays from banks for international transactions, not to mention exchange rate differences and outrageous charges
Imagine a designer in Lagos, a tailor in Aba being paid instantaneously for their respective services through Bitcoin.
Bearing in mind that SMEs are the heartbeat of the nations economy.

If these SMEs begin to increasingly adopt Bitcoin as a means for payment, could such a move force those in charge of our monetary policy become more open to innovation, or become stricter in their policy formulation?

Let's be happy honest there are now many banking system that has made international transactions very fast and the speed will continue to increase.
And in your post op you made lots of reference to SME which is small and medium enterprises, such enterprises hardly run International transactions, maybe you should have used other examples.

For me using Bitcoin is about being your own bank, the anonymity, privacy and freedom is overwhelming but if you ar saving your Bitcoin on centralised exchange then you are not enjoying this beautiful opportunities.

Should SME business engage in Bitcoin why not If the owners have done their research and are aware of the benefits and dangers and can protect themselves.
