Is war the only way to get power? Could it be the only to achieve that peice of land that is occupied by another nation. What if after fighting war for many years, month and you end up surrendering and nothing was achieved, but just waste of life, breaking down of properties and going backward. Is their no other way to claim your rights without killing. Before two countries go into war, I believe each of these countries knows their stands and strength and know who will likely win the fight. Conflict resolution should be taught to all people in all languages. If we are preparing for a future with less wars then we need to start teaching Conflict resolution. Internal and external conflict can happen any time and for very small reasons like minimal disagreement, but with assimilation of conflict resolution peace can be reached.

We humans are animals after all and from the look of things the only way animals need to resolve issues seems to be through fighting. I am not supporting this endless wars but on a deeper thought, War seems to be the only thing humans have known since their existence.

Certain regime changes need war and not some peaceful protests or strikes. Unfortunately, a lot of blood is shed during the process.

Who do you want to teach? Don't write like people don't know what all these are all about. We'll know the consequences of conflict and what harm it will cause and even with that people continue to fight and kill each other. War is not the best way to settle conflict, the best way to settle conflict is by dialogue even in Christianity religion and other religions doesn't support war. But most of these countries feel too big to dialogue. Although war doesn't just happens anyhow, it takes time and much disagreement before it happens. War is not good in my humble opinion but sometimes that's the only way to show supremacy over the other country expecialy when the other country is bent on conflict over dialogue. The fact is that some war usually end well in the sense that after the lost of human life and property, the target is finally achieved. But the worst case is after war and lost of life and the porpose of which they fought for was not achieve.

War happens because of territory discovers. It's either that land mass that they're trying to proclaim has some minerals or oils in it, and that's why they are not going to get bothered if they're trying to fight for that. But it's not the only way to obtain power, having some good relationship with bordering countries and the others who also have disputes to that territory could be negotiated. Although one has to agree with the others term or that's it, negotiation and agreement is the key for a peaceful dispute and both neighboring countries will not have to go through a war.

There are better ways to regain territory or acquire power besides going to war. Legitimacy, strategy and diplomacyrather than destruction are frequently the sources of true power. Due to greed and power intoxication, humans have seen war as the only means to steal their neighboring country lands and properties. They know that it doesn't belong to them and no one with his right sense will give part of his country land peacefully to the neighboring country that will ask for it.

It didn't just start today but it has been happening since the creation of the world. Go and read your Bible and see the history or countries that has been fighting and invading their neighboring countries in order to possess their lands and the occupant. Human is greedy in nature whenever, they are powerful.

Literally all nation borders are result of having some kind of army fighting for land and defending them. These days you can try to pressure nations with economic sanctions, and that's the most common way.

Positive side-effect of free trade was that nations depend on each other, and they don't benefit if supply chain is broken in one country, so they rather help each other out in crisis, rather then use money and resources to invade each other.

There are stages that leads to war and often times, it is always that the parties involved have tried several several ways to resolve it such that it will not escalate to war and at the end of the day, nothing seems to work at all and war becomes the only solution. no one wishes or prays for war. and the fact is that their is never a winner involved in the war because all parties involved suffers seriously whenever there is war.

In some cases, war starts when dialogue has failed. People or nations go to war when they fail to settle differences through negotiations or diplomacy. War could also be a result of expansionist and oppressive tendencies. The sad part about wars is that the people who proclaim them don't go to the war front. These politicians and their families continue to live in luxury while the common man suffers, is injured and dies on the battlefield.

Some countries know that they cannot withstand the strength of an enemy. But they assume that they will get support from allies to fight these stronger nations. Warmonger has a lot to gain. It gives them more money, power, and a platform to test military hardware.

What is the essence fighting when you have nothing to achieve in fighting?

The essence is to prove that one is more superior/powerful than the other, with zero consideration on the lives of those that might be affected. From the few conflicts that I have seen in recent times, there are clearly no go reasons, other than a particular country trying to claim superiority, and others trying to take sides so as to cause more havoc. I sometimes watch videos of children who have become homeless and orphans as a result of war. Can't imagine such a crazy and dirty thing still happening in this 21st century.

Quest for supremacy has caused a lot of conflict among nations, leading to some criticizing questions that requires answers which is yet to be answered for now, when India was tired of there colonial masters they where faced with know option than to fight for their independence that they later got in 1947 after series of war between them. Although war is not always the answer to all questions but peaceful coexistence the way Nigeria had with the British Colonial masters in 1960, so apart for war there are different ways of resolving conflicts which is with wisdom because war is never the answer to all questions

Wat might seem right, but it's never the best option.  In my opinion I think it's the last option. Before going into war there should be other options to settle dispute,  which includes dialogue. 
Dialogue is the first option before going into war, because this can sort out most issue. It might just be an issue of lack of understanding and dialogue will be able to sort this out rather than going into war.

You must consider there are countries which are relatively small and do not have so many military capabilities and yet they decide to go to war against countries which are bigger and better prepared than them, just for the sake of defending their interest and sovereignity. It reminds me the war between fascist Italy and African colonies, the Italian armies had advanced weapons and artillery, while defender Africans had to fight with machetes and milited equipment, Italy won but Africans were not going down without fighting even if they knew they had little chance to repel Italian invaders.
