I have tried that before, but one side must suffer. It's either you predict wrongly or feel you didn't predict well due to the pressure of the work, or you miss your work and do it wrongly. I feel we can't really combine the two at one. The work already carries pressure and gambling too, especially predicting games, it isn't something you do in a hurry, therefore, it's best you do one and then later attend to the other.

But we can't leave work for gambling, and thus, we should hold our gambling and focus on our work till when you are chanced. If we cannot hold our gambling zeal just for our work to get done, then you must check yourself, Maybe addiction is creeping in slowly. There is always time for everything

Yes it is only someone that is addicted to gambling that will be moved to gamble during working hours. This is as a result of lack of self control. It is very wrong to gamble during working hours and the consequences if caught on the act maybe very severe. While working there is need to remain focus and then leave gambling for later things.

Gambling should never be done during work hours. It will not only distract you from your work, but it will also cost you financially and you may lose your job. Gambling is a fun activity and should be enjoyed only for fun purposes during your free time. I never gamble during work hours and I do not encourage anyone to gamble. However, I do gamble during my free time, during car journeys and it is quite enjoyable to gamble during this time. Especially during traffic jams.

I have try gamble while I'm alone playing music and I got distracted, that's why I don't think I can gamble with any form of distraction. It's just like saying I can study for exams while studying when you know that you can't do such appropriately if your attention is elsewhere. You can gamble but what about the outcome, will you rather gamble while waiting money give it your full attention so that when you gamble you can have some money from your bet.

I don't think there is better time to gamble like when you do it on weekends where you don't get distracted from families and friends or your work schedule. If my games include Tuesday, I will book them down but I will have to review them before the start of the games. You can see that such still requires my attention, there are some games that may still need some changes, this is why I don't think I can gamble and still be doing something together.

In terms of sports betting, if one is not a hardcore gambler i.e. bettor, then I think one can bet on some underdog matches even during working hours. However, I would not encourage this, because in this case, our attention can be diverted from our work, and in this case, betting for five minutes may turn out to be something we don't have 30 minutes at hand.

Gambling should be played in free time Gambling should never be played during work pressure because when a person gambles during work pressure he will never be able to make correct predictions in gambling especially in the case of sports betting a person will never be able to make correct predictions in a lot of work because predicting about a team definitely requires some time some experience and some analysis where if you cannot do good analysis then winning becomes very uncertain so I want to say that if you want to gamble then you should definitely gamble during your free time and in a free environment where winning can be very much assured. Why is yours different than my own experience, I was a hard core gambler before getting a job. Immediately I got the job, my betting zeal stopped to the point I quit gambling till date, I didn't plan to quit gambling bit it came unintentionally, I just found out I am not the same person anymore immediately starting the job.

The solution was that, I couldn't had the time to focus on gambling again because my job needed much of my time, and most times matches kick off, I am on the site.

I don't know how it would've been if I combined the both together, it would've been hell for me.

Actually it is wrong to gamble while working because you will be distracted, you will not be able to do use on either the game or work mainly when the game you place the bet on did not win, it becomes a problem to you, although some persons are good at multi taking, but no matter how good you are when you lose the game, you will be emotionally affected and remain distabilised throughout the whole day.

There is time for everything , we should do things at the right time and place if you truly want to  be successful, working time should not be mixed up with gambling time.

I don't know, but I'm not the type of person where I can do multi-tasking, let alone working and gambling at the same time.

There's also a possibility that those who are doing this will have a hard time focusing on their work especially when they're losing money because there's a chance that them losing consecutively will have an effect on their brain, and that could affect their performance at work. Losing consecutive times can affect you negatively, and that could affect you in your work or worse, that might cause you to get fired. Imagine you losing in gambling, and losing your job at the same time. The worst thing that could happen for a person.

If there's somebody that's doing what the OP is doing, please stop. What happened to him might happen to you as well. Your performance will drop, your productivity will drop, your efficiency on work will drop, and worse, you might get fired. Gambling websites are open 24/7. You don't need to gamble 24 hours in order to win. Gamble only on your free time. If it's time to work, work. If it's time to gamble, gamble. Time management is the key.

Depending on your working environment, there are things you can do and still blend it well with your work and things you don't try doing knowing that it will interfere greatly with your extent of productivity.

When you're supposed to be working, it is best you give that time to working and not use same time for gambling and when you are less busy and relaxed, you can then think or consider gambling at that time. Imagine you're in the medical field and got distracted because you lost your bet, you're in the process endangering the lives of the people you're working on.

It makes sense what you said, depending on the work environment or perhaps the type of work, but in any case, it's best not to gamble during working hours, even though there is a possibility that it will be fine to do so. I think it's great that you've realized that doing two things at once isn't the best idea. I had a colleague who would run to the next room during breaks to play; he was really bad at combining both. As a result, at the next meeting, he was reprimanded and told to figure out what was more important to him. He ended up staying on, but without a bonus, since his work during that period had been extremely poor.

The way you say it is not a double-edged sword but rather a lose-lose situation where, as you stated one can lose his job if caught by his superion and/or make a wrong decision in gambling since he can't focus on the game because of the need to look for the sorrounding during those stolen moment.

One should avoid any other distractions and just focus on the job during working hours.  If we do this (gambling during working hours), we are cheating the company by stealing the time that should be spent on work, but we use it for entertainment.

What about people who gamble at work, use company device to do that, but that when they have free time, or make pause at work. You know, some people go have a smoke, some make coffee, other walk in the office and talk with other colleagues; that 5-10min rest during work. I have done that at work. I was so stressed and tired, that I needed a break. Instead of going online and surfing through memes or funny pictures, I have chosen to spin slots. That game is easy to play, in a way it is relaxing (when you dont expect wins and focus on results).

Well, in as much as there are some jobs that are less tedious and can permit the worker multi-tasking into doing something else even while on duty, this is still not a good reason to choose gambling as what to do while on duty, though there might actually be no problem at all from doing this but for the fact that it's simply unethical to be gambling while on duty is more than enough reason not to try this..

Gambling is an activity we can engage ourself in in our free time, this is the best time to gamble and really enjoy it without putting anything else at risk except the money being staked on the game..
Working in a place like a bank and gambling doesn't even seem good to imagine not talk of actually doing it, there is what is known as code of conduct that is practiced by workers in big firms, this are like set of rules that the worker must abide by during working hours, a banker who values his job and respect their code of conduct will never be found gambling during their working hours.

I personally think the problem is not just gambling the problem is when we give space to something, If something else comes in our mind while working then it slows down and turns into a habit and have bad effect on work environment. I am sure many people have experienced the same thing. Most of us are "gambling on the side", but we don't have the same jobs, the same obligations... Maybe more importantly, each of us takes some things more seriously than others. So what's more important for you? Your job or gambling activities? Can you combine them wihtout negative effects? Did you include other factors? Do you have a family? Ask yourself some questions, and when you find answers that suit you & people you love and care about, that's it. I guess we can say it's all about the balance... each of us needs to find it. It's like gambling... we need to try all sorts of things before we find answers. Good luck.

Working and at the same time gambling won’t give you a  better results, because you are having divided action , I remember those days in uni , while lectures is going on, I will be at the back sit try to place a bet that I have already predicted and analyzed , but due to time schedule, I couldn’t place it at home , when I got to class , I was busy betting before the matches start , and after some minutes it started, I began to monitor the games , to a point i lost concentration on the lecture, everything the lecturer said I didn’t grab at all , so ever since them , I make sure I finish everything betting at home before leaving  the house so that I won’t lose focus outside, my only concern should be the outcome of the games instead of the process , working and gambling is a bad habit entirely.
