Like me, you may have noticed that people invest in land and gold with confidence and patience. The price of which gradually increases. On the other hand, most people are afraid of investing in Bitcoin. Among them, the older generation is more. At first, I thought it might be just a lack of information. Later, I realized that the issue is deeper. It is actually a lack of faith, culture and mentality. The older generation has been seeing that people benefit from land and gold since the past. This mentality, culture and belief shows their interest in land and gold.

From my point of view, it seems that in reality, people give more priority to what they see with their eyes. Land is something that can be seen with the eyes, touched with the hands, and experienced. Gold can be used as jewelry. On the other hand, since Bitcoin is completely digital, it cannot be seen or touched. That is why most people consider Bitcoin a risk and think that it will be lost at any time.

 When it comes to risks, everyone talks about the risks of Bitcoin. But in reality, if you open your eyes, you can see that land can be seized. Again, it is possible to create fake documents on fake papers. Meanwhile, I have also heard of cases of gold being stolen. Although these risks are relatively low, the risk remains.

On the other hand, Bitcoin can be stored safely. And no one can copy or take it away. Again, since its supply is limited, we are pretty sure that its value will be more attractive in the future.

As a new investor like me, as far as I understand, if you keep your Private Key secret, you are safe. And the biggest thing is that investing with the required amount of money at the time of investment is a wrong decision. If you follow these two things correctly, you will get much more freedom than gold or land.  Always invest from extra money because you will not invest for 1 month or 2 months but your investment should be long term for 8/10 years. Only then will you have a chance to succeed from Bitcoin in the future. And if you cannot figure out what the extra money is, then investing is a little difficult for you. But I think even if a person has common sense, he can figure out what his extra money is. No one can teach this by holding his hand. Only if you know the above two things in the new situation and continue investing with patience and discipline, you will have a chance to succeed from Bitcoin. Then if you want, you can gain more knowledge about Bitcoin along with investing.

Finally, it can be said that land and gold are traditional beliefs. And Bitcoin is a belief in the future. The sooner you can make the right decision, the sooner you can achieve freedom.

These are mentality of older generations not this new generation, our generation have improved and have moved on from old age methods of investment. They are still investing on gold, real estate and other physical investments, but they have centered into Bitcoin investment. Most people that invested in the year 2022 are now profitable more than others that invested in gold and other physical investment. You're not far from the truth but the major challenges faced with the public and Crypto adoption is the unregulated blockchain because lot of folks are still in their darks of realizing their rights without realizing the uncovered purposes of the governments which they think are liable to be trusted with their values.

An older person will believe in what he has lived and grown into, most of our fathers bought a piece of land for an instance N300K ten years ago, of recent based on location, that same piece of land can be worth over millions of value. Bitcoin is 16 years old, someone above 50 years will find it difficult to switch from physical ownership of asset to understanding blockchain. Adoption is slow because of both reasons, bitcoin investment seem like too many process considering how you have to ready your wallet security and ensure security key privacy.

It is true that people have more confidence or trust in buying gold and land because they can actually see and transact with them, but since the creation of Bitcoin, people have relatively reduced their demand for buying gold and land because people are now more aware than before and have learned to understand better which one has the convenience or reliability and personal freedom through its use. Bitcoin digital currency decentralized asset is gradually increasing its use and acceptance all over the world and will increase further in the future. From my point of view, all the convenience or freedom that is available in using Bitcoin is not possible to get in any other asset. Exactly, our parents are not willing to divert into digital world, they stick to gold and land investment since it has been paying for long but it has a lot of disadvantages which has brought a lot of people down especially if you don’t have power related to security or government in this Nigeria.

There is no doubt, land and gold has been the oldest days investment and still paying up till now, but young minded investors getting in is bringing a lot of scams into it because now you need to know how to undergo series of property confirmations before buying a land or a property, likewise that of gold because the fake gold is everywhere, and only who knows the original knows it because it is not all that glitters are gold.
Investing in such physical properties involves third-party and it is very risky because you can be given fake land documents or fake gold as the case maybe; while there is nothing like fake Bitcoin.

One major thing we must consider is the fact that in the past traditional ways of wealth is by what people can see you have, many hectares of land you can conquer, or acquire but as time have it now people are looking at invisible assets because they already started trusting government and banks for holding their money and hold but the we advanced to the level that one will be held responsible if anything happens to your assets, back then they believe they can hold someone responsible for it. That type of thinking is associated mostly with the elderly generation not with these Gen Z we are seeing now, people fear what they don't understand and again it's still difficult for the older generation to put money 🤑 in the air, they are afraid of doing so, but when you come to discussions about land and good it's something that dey can relate too, its associated to wealth generation from their generation and they probably understand it better, and what Should be done is we the new generation should be the light for Bitcoin spread the information, talk more about it teach people about it, so they know they are missing alot by not investing in bitcoin, as bitcoin though volatile has been consistent and has consistently over the years proven to be a greater store of value, the growth level cannot be compared to land and gold, despite also being a store of value. But you can't blame the elderly generation too, they just need more enlightenment, you can also relate it to when a switch to cashless policy brought serious backlash especially by the older generation, they believe more in what they can see. But as it stands now if I have money I would probably invest in all of them but I would definitely place Bitcoin as first, but it's also good to diversify.

Some of them still call Bitcoin a speculative assets and consider it something that many investors are unsure of will be able to change financial state, so many people do not want to gamble with it. The truth is that the majority of us who who invested in Bitcoin earlier did so purely out of belief of what the future of Bitcoin can look like not based on the long term reputation that it had. This is why I feel like as time goes on and Bitcoin becomes more matured, we would have more persons who would change their opinion towards it and then believe it and start trusting it more like the land and gold investments that have already which have been in existence for a while. I agree with you anyone who will be afraid of Bitcoin in this present time and age is not a young person. Such a person may be people from the sixties and seventies who are used to the old order of doing things especially when it comes to business, with the reality on ground now as it concerns Bitcoin i don't think that people are actual afraid of bitcoin right now.


What people should know is that Bitcoin investment is a source that,  is why even some young people who are faced with the reality of the authenticity of Bitcoin has not invested into it they don't just have Bitcoin in mind as something that they should invest into . In my perspective, people's fear of Bitcoin is not only concerning its price volatility, but majorly on trust and familiarity. For many generations land and gold has been in existence, and can be held physically by people. Which builds confidence. Bitcoin as a digital assets and relatively new, it appears as an abstract and seem uncertain to a lot of people, mostly the older generation.
Therefore true, many people have the believe in that which can be seen and touched. Thoughts are less about the rise  and fall of Bitcoin and major on human psychology, trusting it's tangibility over the invisibility.
