Decentralization: The blockchain exists on many nodes worldwide. Specially have no central server/operator to be shut it down.

Immutable ledger: Past transactions are all recorded. Can not remove/eliminate history without controlling the vast majority. its quite impossible of its scale.

Private-key ownership: BTC is controlled by owner to holds the private keys.

Consensus Rules: Changing fundamental rules would require overwhelming consensus from miners, nodes, and developers. That’s practically unachievable.

Censorship Resistance: Anyone, anywhere can send or receive BTC without anyone permission.

Global, Open Access: Anyone can use it.

Air-gapped Transactions: Fully offline storage & signing possible.

All the reasons you have mentioned are what makes up a community. Bitcoin is made up of everyone willingly doing the work to keep the network running and people are making transactions because they trust the network. This is why even with government's hindrance, people will not stop using bitcoin. They will always find other ways to use bitcoin.

We already know, if bitcoin was stoppable, the government would have stopped it, seized it a long time ago, but unfortunately for them, this is impossible for them to do, and thank goodness for the wisdom of Satoshi nakamoto, the creator of bitcoin and the inventor of blockchain, thank goodness he knew beforehand; what his presence in the community would have done to bitcoin, he or they knew before anyone else knew that their presence in the community would turn a risk to the existence of bitcoin, and this why he or they decided to leave soon as Bitcoin was able to stand on its own.

If Satoshi was here, it would have been easy for the government to capture and eliminate bitcoin by simply capturing Satoshi, this is why I think that as we celebrate the success of bitcoin, lets not forget who made it all possible.

You have a good point, yes. He (satoshi) would have been arrested and made a prisoner where he would suffer and undo everything about bitcoin for contravening banking laws, tax evasion . Perhaps this is also part of the reasons he disappeared into tin air to allow bitcoin have and achieve the purpose it was made for. Just imagine satoshi parading himself as the owner and maker of a financial asset that every part of the world will be making use of... Although to make satoshi undo everything about bitcoin would be difficult except at the very early stage if they had seize the bitcoin white paper but as it stands now, bitcoin being a decentralised system is unstoppable.

Nothing can make bitcoin changed from being consistent, it cannot be censored, government cannot end it existence or relevance, nothing can be done to stop people from using bitcoin once it does not change from being the secured digital currency we all knew it.

There's no partial elimination and neither will there be a complete one from any attacking sides, be it government or any organization, group of people or individuals, bitcoin works by the protocols it was meant for and no one can change these constants.

Bitcoin has proved it can be here for a long long time. In Nigeria, the government made Bitcoin transaction illegal, it reduces the volume of transactions for a while but people find a way. I think Bitcoin will still face harsher government policies but it's here to stay

Bitcoin can be suppressed, not erased. Killing it would require deleting the code everywhere, seizing every key, and blocking all transport - which is impractical.


Also, "air-gapped transactions" are an operational practice, not a protocol feature.

But all of this doesnt matter if a major global player decides to shut things down.  If they ban banks from working with exchanges, kill the power to mining operations, and make running a node a crime that lands you in jail, what would happen to your immutable ledger?  Sure, they may not be able to technically eliminate it completely, but its still possible for them to crush the on-ramps and off-ramps.  (Not that I think this will ever happen on a global scale.)

By the way, there is no such thing as "air-gapped transactions".  You can only sign a transaction, but you cant possibly broadcast it to the network from an offline device.

This is the characteristics of Bitcoin. And most likely we never seen this before and so this is a new technology and in the beginning many are skeptic about it. And portraying it as somewhat as a scam and pulling money out of thin air.

The witch hunt has started in 2017, as during this time, Bitcoin really gain a lot of traction from everyone in every part of the globe. So financial watchdogs has to make some amendment to even discussed it during G5 or G7 summit or some government around the world. But the harder they try, the more resilient Bitcoin is or enthusiast are. So right now instead of resistance, they this governing bodies learn to accept it with just "tighter" regulations.

The government takes action and seizes Bitcoin because of our wrongdoings. If we don't abuse its anonymity and use it legally, they don't get interested in it. But we did. Many people use it for fraud and money laundering, which catches attention. That is why it was not the government that made it change, but we are. And we can't blame the government as well.

Therefore, we don't provide a reason for them to become strict. Bitcoin is not meant for such a thing, but rather to be a useful asset created to make our lives easier.

The government cannot completely wipe it out of this world because of its decentralized nature, there will still be a segment of people who support and use it even if they impose a total ban. But if that happens, the development of bitcoin will also end, it will not be able to become popular and widely used. It is likely to be used only for underground operations if the government imposes a comprehensive and strict ban.

Bitcoin cannot be completely eliminated by governments, but without their recognition and support, it is unlikely to grow and become popular. We should not underestimate and take lightly the power of government.

The only way for them to eliminate bitcoin if that's the plan is to take down internet. But it will not happen, almost all businesses are relying to the internet and so, the bitcoin network and its security is relying to it as well together with the nodes that are being run. So, that's the only way for the government to take it down if they ever want it down. It will cost a serious amount of money globally if they ever try that and plus the hatred that will be put into them by these major corporations just because they have that agenda. So, very unlikely to happen.
