It has become a norm for people who got their wallet drained to say they got hacked, and two relatives of mine are also guilty of this, the few numbers of incidents that I looked into are not hacks.

If Trezor wallet get hacked all Trezor hardware wallet out there is breached, it means their security wall has fallen, at this point not one is safe.

Getting your wallet drained always show that you did something wrong.

1. You click on a wrong link.

2. You download a fake wallet app.

3. You listen to a stranger who deceive you into visiting malicious website or articles.

4. You use torrent to download movies or games.

5. Greed

And many more.

This is not a hack but a deceiving tactics, cyber criminals have changed their tactics not too long, they don't need to fight firewalls of secured hardware and software companies, all they have to do is manipulate you into believing their lies.

If you like have all security measures in place, strong passwords, firewalls, multi factor authentication, they are still not enough if you can be deceived, scammers are becoming masters of manipulation.

It's possible that your relative or close friend doesn't know that terms like phishing exist (it is also possible that their cloud storage got brute-forced, too). Maybe you can educate them further if they listen to your words.

That being said, I do agree that people need to be self-aware and practice better security practices. We have so many examples where being too confident is the reason why someone loses millions of crypto.

Fact is that they try several methods on you and anyone you fall victim of, they get at you through that method. It's. It like hackers have stopped. They still send phishing link in the form of fake promises and still directly try to hack into your system, the one they use is just dependent on level of security and if you're someone that does not pay good attention to your security, it becomes certain that with simple strategy, it becomes easy to hack your device.

Don't ever become complacent about your security just because you feel a particular strategy is no longer popular. The moment you decide to relax on your security might be that moment hackers take advantage of you and steal your funds.

Taking full responsibility for your actions and inactions is a sign of maturity. But it is common to see people blame wallets for the loss of their funds but they will never open up how they were deceived because of greed. They are too shy to explain how they wanted to get rich quickly and expose their wallets to criminals. The majority of people who lost their funds were driven by greed. The security of our funds depends more on us than the wallet. If you get a good wallet, the rest depends on you.

Thank you for this information that will help those of us that are not too privileged to safeguard our accounts avoiding getting hacked or deceived by people that are good at this. The cryptocurrency is big and I need to know so many things about the market so I don't lose my Bitcoin because I click on the wrong link. A chain is as strong as it's weakest link and in cyber security this weakest link is human. No matter how advance techniques are used by hacker, he still relies on mistakes of his victim for execution of his plan. If we do analysis of hacks done on individuals then it's clear that in all hacks it's the human who did something wrong that triggered the hacking process. It's becoming a thought that installing/updating antivirus or updating OS of your mobile will keep you safe but that's not enough. The humans need to be tried at first place to avoid getting hacked.

I got deceived once because I believed a man who sold me a story which seemed legit and that, if true, it would make the risk of being scammed make sense. Unfortunately for me, it was a scam, but I was well aware of that possibility and I didn't care too much because it was a measured risk.

One your wallets is linked with internet, the security of that wallet needs to be extra stronger with at least multiple prevention measures to safeguard the wallet because scammers are not smiling anymore, they are looking any opportunity to get rid of any Bitcoin they see in any wallet be it hardware wallet or online wallet.
It is better to manage wallets like Electrum in your device if you download the wallet from their official website and make sure you avoid clicking on any link you don’t trust because malware links can come in any form of link or even messages.

Safety of our wallets is the safety of our Bitcoin, if we can’t secure our wallets, then it is better we leave our Bitcoin with centralized exchanges to save for us.

The crypto market is so saturated with informations about hacks and breach of security as more people get themselves informed about new techniques of hack. Anytime a red flag is spotted, they easily avoid it and this makes the scammers have a little chance of getting to scam them.

Crypto is a place of opportunity and greed to make quick money, scammers are not using that to lure their victims. If not well informed, they will make it look very clean and free of any sign of scam. When someone is able to control the human mind and emotion, he will be able to control the actions of that person... People are careless, lazy and greedy so they mostly don't want to learn, don't apply what they learned or was advised, and easily fall to "too good to be true" scam offers. It is all their faults by being irresponsible with their own money while scammers are pretty lazy and stupid so their scam traps are not actually too complicated.

Falling to very popular scam methods is pretty stupid while there are many educational resources against scammers especially most common scams.

The cryptocurrency scambook is enough for learning about scam and most basic scams. I believe that after learning about those scam methods, newbies can have good fundamentals and carefulness against other scam methods that are not written in the scambook.

I agree, being informed of these scams and hacks and how they could happen is the very start of being protected and more secured. And with the hardware wallets, they're a great way to keep cryptos because they'll have to be confirmed through the device itself before a transaction could proceed not unless the seeds are taken and you as an owner of it did negligence about keeping it securely.

I think people would have been more careful with their assets if they were willing to take full responsibility for their actions. As long as people keep apportioning blames to wallets even when their greed lead to their loss they will still keep making the same mistakes over and over again. Accepting responsibility helps one to learn and avoid repeating the same mistake. The moment a person realizes that security starts with them, they will become more cautious double checking links, using hardware wallets, and avoiding unrealistic offers. Blaming wallets only shifts focus away from the real cause, which is usually poor judgment or carelessness.

This is a common scam, but there are still many fools in the world, so it still works quite effectively. Have you ever had someone post a message on your social media account saying they're offering a prize in the form of USDT and other assets, an inheritance, or a deposit, and directing you to click on the link they provide? That's one of their tactics I've encountered.

It is to imply that, hacks don’t occur on a personal base but on a general approach with a case study here being the Trezor wallet?

If that be the case, then what actually is hacking? I quickly had to look this up on the web and it’s said to be;
A system by which an individual with a highly specialized technological skill is able to get access to unauthorized data on any device.

Almost all hacks do start with installing a linked device or patch to a system and exploiting it there on. This leaves me to think, even the lies pathway to getting you into installing a malicious app on your device is a pathway to hacking.
