KRAKEN - Pauses trading during the big drop yesterday...!?

I am by no means a trader, I dabbled with some medium to long term hodling but never cracked it and needed money so cashed out... Left $100 in my Kraken. I got wind of the big 70% drop on ADA yesterday, thought I would take advantage, logged into Kraken and tried to purchase ADA... Sadly I can't even use leverage as they have blocked that in my country so was just happy to just purchase on spot....
I tried to buy ADA but it said I had insufficient funds... I did not.. I was fully loaded up...
Has anyone else found this?? When markets favour us, exchanges like Kraken suddenly seem to have 'techcnial problems' ?!

At the moment and with the current market conditions leverage market is the best shit right now, spot is over bought and at the same time we need to agree on the tendency for the market to increase much more than it will decrease further, this is the most expected, Bitcoin have shown a lot of signs to recover but the resistance is still strong around the 110k+ but once we can Cross $113k it will be another run off momentum that could see us achieving another all time high price.

Yes a did read you post correctly, what I was saying indirectly is the best market analysis for you, since you said that kraken have leverage market banned for your region and you could only trade on the spot market which at this point is not the best market for you to trade ADA on, I also gave analysis of what the market can be for Bitcoin being the major assets on the crypto market and you could use it to reflect on what you could expect from ADA that you mentioned.
Just a question, why is leverage market banned on kraken in your region?

It usually happens to most major exchanges during market crashed. They often pin it on the high volume of orders or something like that. My suggestion is you look for a low-key exchange with fewer orders for days like that. Don't rely only on one exchange,

This was Binance yesterday, though they claim that they will compensate those who were affected. Time will tell.

This usually happens and I feel like the exchanges are now part of the plan and want people to be more liquidated because why would an exchange keep logging you out when their is a crash and they know that you need to move your funds to safety or cancel some trade.

I’m was so pissed off yesterday and finally everything I was hoping not to happen already happened but then my bitcoin I know will have nothing to be complain about because I’m not talking profit yet. It’s just crazy how trump can destroy the market with his decision making.

This is such a cop out response from an exchnage... so they F you up cause they don't want to lose money... They know they are at a serious disadvantage so they pause their systems.... it's not good enough!!  You are paying them in fees so you can trade when you want, they treat it like we are lucky to be in their club, they have a very biased system..... Would the SEC be interested to know about this type of behaviour???

It's not only you bro, but me too. I also faced the same issue on Binance when it didn't let me to withdraw my money from the earn and can't also buy on spot when it's dumping. I got a massage "Service load is too heavy, try again later".

Sadly, this incident only happened in Binance, Coinbase, and Kraken. The rest of exchange sites such as Bybit, Okx and etc were working fine during such insident. It makes me wondering whether they have collusion behind the scene.

I hope regulators will pay attention to it.

Clearly a manipulation, manipulation through Trump and other personalities and as well as from the exchanges like this one;

They can do it in their own ways, whether it's with the listings of tokens from the withdrawals and deposits. They have them it all in control and in their favor.

Same used to happen to Bitmex. Everything in the order book would freeze ad one would not be able to open or close any position during flash crashes. I don't see such complaints about them anymore

There is no perfect system. There will always something occur that is unexpected by all measures whatever how professional you are. The good team is the one able to interact good with community to reduce panic. I see what binance as a good example to follow just to let users always updated about their situations.

It's not only happening at the Kraken. I was at Binance and faced the same problem like you. Unable to withdraw and buy the tokens that were dipping to the zero value such as IOTX and ATOM. if i were able to buying it. I could able to make like hundreds thousands bucks from it.

Interesting fact is that while Kraken and Binance were preventing their users to bought the dip. the other exchange sites such as Bitget and Bybir were still operated normally. It's cuz i can buy USDE when it was getting de-pegged there.
