Looking at Nigeria politics, the desire to run for two tenure has been one of the moves of say every incumbent(president, senators, reps, governors, state reps, lga chairmans and councilors).
This is not without disadvantages like the cost of running elections and strategies by incumbents just to be able to win a second round of which some of these strategies are just to lure the people into giving them a second chance to win therefore are usually not full time development oriented.
I believe there are many other disadvantages, imagine that.

So
What if from the top to bottom is made of the same number of years in office but for just one tenure.
SAY SIX YEARS ONE AND ONLY TENURE FOR ANY ELECTIVE OFFICE.
How will this help the nation.

If Nigeria truly builds strong institutions, transparent systems, and clear accountability, then yes  one tenure could be revolutionary. It would force our

leaders to govern with urgency and sincerity, not political gamesmanship. But without those checks and balances, one tenure might just mean a faster

rotation of mediocrity.

Thank God you mentioned key facts like a transparent system and clear accountability which we all know can't come to reality with the presence of our current political system which the so called political representatives are interested in building self wealth and total dominance in all sectors making it difficult for the subject matter to come to manifestation except what happened in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger happens in Nigeria. The system is so corrupt that they are not willing to give listen ears to positive change except conversion of public funds to theirs, which means they can't allow one tenure in office to take effect
