Greetings to all. I opened this thread to ask a question. I don't know if there is already a thread on this topic. I am quoting the topic below. If people believe so much about bitcoin, then why do we ONLY have around 1% world adoption of bitcoin, then?
Quoted by JayJuanGee, a respected Legendary Member of the forum. The quote states that if people believe in Bitcoin so much, then why have only 1% of the world's population adopted it? Now what I want to know from everyone is: What percentage of people in the world actually believe in Bitcoin? And are only 1% of the world's population really using Bitcoin? If so, why? I want to know the correct answer from everyone.

Honestly, that 1% adoption doesn't really mean people don't believe in Bitcoin, it just shows how blind the world is to what real freedom looks like and also shows how early we still are. Most people still trust the old system that controls them. So they don't even realize how broken it is until it hurts them personally.
So many people have heard about Bitcoin, some even like the idea but they don't understand it deeply enough to use it. Adoption takes time, education, and sometimes, personal experience with broken systems before people wake up to why Bitcoin matters.
It's kind of like The early Internet days - only a small percentage used it at first. But those who did, changed the world later. So Bitcoin story is similar, that 1% today are just the believers, the 99% will eventually catch up.

Bitcoin coin adoption has passed 1% by far ,so I think maybe he was just using it as an example to say that the entire world has not yet adopted bitcoin . because if you look at this image 2025 analysis of the current bitcoin adoption you will see that even our county Nigeria has passed 1% The fact that many people believe in the value of bitcoin is because throughout our bitcoin history it has shown us a good record of its potential Even in crisis, like when many people criticized it calling it different kinds of names just so that no one will elieve in its value. Even then bitcoin still came out and yet it's still standing because there will and always be people who will believed in bitcoin and it's future .....as a Matter of fact Bitcoin has an unlimited potential, and everything about it is unique, because of that ... it has proved itself to the world to be the number one, most trusted digital asset even now we are still hoping to see more of its potential in the nearest future. That's just it... if you want to know more about the adoption rate, check this link....... https://coinledger.io/research/how-many-people-own-crypto-in-the-world?hl=en-GB

Well many people have heard of Bitcoin but not many people understand the concept behind Bitcoin block chain. And investing into something you do not have a grounded knowledge on is not a good investment strategy, so I would say if Bitcoin structure could be studied and understood by both the elderlies and illiterates, it would go a long way to how many persons had adopted it's system.
Knowledge creates awareness so I think that is the basic thing to expand Bitcoin's trust for the future.

1% of the worlds population is a huge number, that is something to note. And I feel the percentage is more than 1% because we have many people who are not recorded in that percentage use.

It's not limited to 1% of the world population using Bitcoin but between 1% and 5% and this is a somewhat good number regardless of how little it looks from the percentage POV. There are approximately 8.2 billion people in the world and if 82(1%) or 164 (2%) million people actually hold Bitcoin irrespective of the millions of crypto currencies available in 15 years of it's propagation then it's noteworthy and not a bad figure. Futuristically, Bitcoin would continue to boost investors confidence and the adoption would grow positively.

let's say most people are still scared of price fluctuations probably because of how altcoins has painted the entire market with shitcoins that do crash after some pump and investors in it. and from the general market crash which happened recently i think that will also make other person get scared of crypto market. though bitcoin is quite different from other crypto projects because the dip didn't affect it to a great amount but for most project it was a 400x and more. However majority of the impresson peope get concernig bitcon are from altcons which is wrong.

I want to know the correct answer from everyone. How are we suppose to give you a correct or accurate answer when we are not working with the world's statistic agency, or world population agency, (which ever or whom ever is responsible for keeping records like this). Before anything bud, you have to understand this things are simply statistics, this is why they normal use the word, "average" in such calculations because figure may or higher or lower.. And besides, I also would love to know, you said you want everyone of us to give you a correct answer, and I was wondering, how does knowing the actual number or percentage of people that have adopted bitcoin help you? Or make a difference in your opinion about bitcoin? You are already where and I believe it's because you support bitcoin, does more or less percentage in bitcoin adoption change anything?

1%..!? That is ridiculous! Well, I wouldn't know much about that, hence, I am a newbie. Whatever, I know Bitcoin is a popular forum in the world, but I think it not about believe, maybe, fear has made many people not to invest in Bitcoin even though they are are aware of its reality.
Probably, more than 20% are aware of Bitcoin, but do not have the courage to invest in it. Another factor that may have hindered most people's interest is lack of proper orientation concerning the forum. It is important to tell someone how long it will take in Bitcoin before benefiting from it, rather than making it look like a monthly business where one begins to expect income.

In case of next time to avoid same mistake, you said in your quote that Bitcoin is a popular forum in the world. Please Bitcoin is not a forum but rather a decentralized digital cryptocurrency and most reliable, I guess that is what you wanted to say

The thing is that majority of people believe in Bitcoin but they don't have the knowledge on how to nurture it to grow either when to invest that's why most people fine it difficult to accept Bitcoin
Regarding to the society today people are familiar with the currency they use and the currency is less stressful for them to use,so population doesn't have time and patient on how to study how to use Bitcoin that is the reason why you see only few people are using Bitcoin, and come to think of saying 1%of the world only accept Bitcoin
In respect to the Quote, Nigeria alone is more than 1%and talk most of other parts of the world, let say 95% of people know about the concept Bitcoin but only 30% of people adopt it because of time and patient forgotten Bitcoin is sweet to used.

Although mathematically it is not one percent. It is within one percent to 5 percent and this means that Bitcoin adoption is now in its early stages. Just like when the internet was first used, but later it became such that every household now has internet. In the same way, when governments, ordinary businessmen and various institutions start using Bitcoin widely, it will explode and in the coming days the spread of technology and network will follow the exponential growth model of Bitcoin adoption, that is, once trust, simple technology, and control systems are developed, people will influence each other through network effect, just like binary fusion. That is, 1 person teaches 2 people, 2 people teach 4 people, 4 people teach 8 people in this way, it is expected to increase exponentially.

It is because of the fear of bitcoin dominating or eradicating their traditional currency , not that they don't know the importance of bitcoin, also no third party involved which you and I knows that most of our leaders are corrupt and wants to embezzle public funds in other to be more wealthy due to greed, but I would say that the adoption of bitcoin in the world has gone beyond 1%, and I believe not being adopted by our leaders boils down to corruption because they know what adoption of bitcoin can do to their countries economy, by stabilizing it and taking them out of poverty, but they are not ready, but I believe with time adoption of bitcoin will happen in many countries than as it is today.

Reason why many people believe in Bitcoin some has no capital and some has this traditional system problem, meaning something untouchable or something that can not be seen is of no use to them moreover something good is never a vision to see quickly for many people, and that is why 1% people is being seeing only. 1% today are just the believer you know some times vision is uncovered to people because of their selfishness while som because of procrastination meaning over thinking that is of no use thinking unnecessary without smart move you in procrastination kills people easily to stop them from aiming higher and that is why at end that of 1% today keep achieving while many unbelievers do regret seeing the gold been achieved by the 1% .
