As the title says, people shouldn't gamble because they need money urgently to take care of one or two challenges that they're facing because gambling wouldn't bail you out. Casinos ain't money making ministry that whenever, you want money, you go and gamble and get whatever amount of you that you want. It's the opposite because casinos are out for business and the house hedge will always win.

A man down my street wife put to bed and needed money to clear the hospital bills. He met people and asked for help which he finally got the exact money to pay up the bills. Since he is broke and doesn't know how to get funds to feed his new baby because the month hasn't come to an end. He decided to use part of the money to gamble before going to the hospital.

Unfortunately, for him he didn't quit when he was on a long winning streak, he continued playing due to greed and forgot about the reason why he started gambling in the first place. Two hours later, he lost all the money and remembered that his wife and baby are in the hospital. He couldn't come back home that day, he slept with them hospital. He's back and the street people are asking him about his family, he lied that they still need medical attention which was the reason he left them there.

His bills are piling up and he can't do anything but to wait till month end when he will get paid. This is a mess that he put his family into because he thought that gambling will be able to solve his financial issues at that moment. Only gamble for fun and not at the point of need so that you don't worsen the current situation.

I think I've read a similar story on hospital bill, however, doing that isn't healthy for the baby and mother. Aside the money mistake, abandoning them in the hospital won't sit right in their memory and the woman could get hostile once she's out of that place, which may result to a family feud.

Another way to say that some people are financially irresponsible and not worth having a family, because for someone who's wife was pregnant for nine months without preparing ahead for the delivery and now going to beg after the child is delivered is already irresponsible and wont be able to handles any finance's that comes his way.

Gambling gave him his first few lucks as a gift for the baby, yeah luck is nature and the baby is bless, but the irresponsible man failed to include risks management and limits in his gambling, that is where the problem set in.

I have done this before. Seeking more money to solve the bill problems, especially the mortgage. I can second what OP said, it will just be more chaotic if we gamble the money that is meant for something else.
Resist it. Don't gamble the important money. Just use the spare. Gambling becomes more fun if we have nothing to worry about because we are using money that is not meant for important things.
Sure, it's still money, and it is important. But our happiness is also important, and if we think we are getting that from gambling, then do it as long as it is in moderation.

One of the worst way that someone can go for looking for money urgently is to go and gamble, think he can double or triple the money. I have read so many cases that this later led to more losses. I think this is common knowledge but many choose to ignore this for the reason that gambling can give a chance for a quick profit.

I wonder why such person would even get his wife pregnant when he's not financially ready to take responsibility of the outcome, he would've done withdrawal method or use condom until he's financially ready to take responsibility as the head of his family,  anyways frustration can make people turn to the wrong options for quick solutions, I believe he needed a quick solution but forgot that gambling is a game of luck and maybe because he wasn't at the right state of mind then he made the wrong choices.

If this is a true story, I'm sorry if I'm a bit harsh. The man was crazy. Imagine being given the opportunity to pay his wife hospital bills  but he still thought about using the money for gambling. Gambling with borrowed money is a huge mistake that shouldn't be made, and those who make it always end up with the same outcome. I think his mistake began long before gambling, because he should have saved when everything was going well.
