I honestly don't even see the connection. Just because bitcoin is basing security on validating cryptography equations, doesn't mean it has much to do with Kevin Mitnick's interest in any way. It's literally publicly transparent with an immutable log, so obviously his interest would be about possible privacy aspect of it if anything.
Is there a connection between Elon Musk and bitcoin (or doge)? Here, the connection is roughly the same: a well-known public figure speaks about bitcoin. In this case, very little, given his work in IT, which, in my opinion, should have interested bitcoin, at least from a technical perspective (as a technology).
I feel like btc community lives in bubble, because i seem to constantly meet bitcoiners who think that every coder or every network security expert would be interested in decentralized ledgers. I feel like i have to state the obvious out loud, but this is not the case with most coders or security experts out there.
Yes, you're absolutely right, and you managed to catch me on that one. I, too, generally believed that people in IT (programmers, network engineers, and the like) would be interested in bitcoin due to their profession. But, surprising as it may sound, it's precisely the case. Thinking back now to personal examples of such people, both offline and online, I come to the conclusion that many are not only skeptical but even hostile toward bitcoin. Even though many have heard of this asset and are aware of its existence.
It seems that the
BTC-community truly lives in its own bubble and believes in the uniqueness and specialness of bitcoin, while people outside this bubble view it quite differently. When discussing various events surrounding bitcoin, we therefore fail to consider the "alternative" views of such people and are mistaken in assuming that they "see" the situation the same way we do.
