Dear users,

For several days i am trying to get my armory wallet online. I am using the 0.96.5 version and also using the latest bitcoin core version. And of course collected all the blocks till today.

Beside watching several tutorials and I have already visted the armory->docs->pathing page and followed all the steps and check ups. But still BA en BC are not connecting en BA is not getting online.

I also tried to import my private key into the electrum wallet, but also this did not work as I wished.

I hope that some one of you is able helping me with this issue. Thank you in advance!

Hereby:

Your Bitcoin node (checked my settings and it matched)
ArmoryDB (checked my settings and it matched)
ArmoryQt (checked my settings and it matched)
Config files (checked my settings and it matched)
Example(checked my settings and it matched)

I did not used/created any custom pads. Do I need to try that for ArmoryDB and ArmoryQT? So yes, where can I enter the commands?

Thank you in advance!

Is Core setup? Start BitcoinQt and let it fully sync the blockchain. Once that's done, you can start ArmoryDB on its own, from the command line, and post the output here, or via a service like pastebin.

I also tried to import my private key into the electrum wallet, but also this did not work as I wished.
What happened during import?
Because that should work except if you're using P2SH-P2PK addresses instead of P2PKH.

For the full export and import guide, read this post by HCP: /index.php?topic=4746784.msg43255691#msg43255691
Import or Sweep tutorial to Electrum is posted 4 posts below it.

I only recommend doing this as your last resort though.

Thank you for your response. BitcoinQT had allready been fully synchronized the whole blockchain and I started the Armory wallet. But the process of starting scanning the armory database never started during all my tries. Next to that I went several times to the map of armory and found the C:\Program Files (x86)\Armory armoryDB file (.exe). When I try to open there is not a screen opening that I am able to use. Or do you mean something else?

I was now checking something else, and that is:
- the bitcoinQT appdata is in the 'local' file while the Armory appdata is in the 'roaming' file. Does this maybe case an issue? This because when I cut and paste the bitcoinqt file to the appdata-> roaming file, i have to start the sync process of the bitcoinqt all over again. So I cancelled this and paste the bitcoinqt file back to the app data-> local. Should I change something here?

Beside this, my general armory settings are at this moment:
- first of all, i did not checked this box and kept it open-> 'let armory run bitcoin core/bitcoind in the background'
- bitcoin home dir: C:\Users\(my user name )\AppData\Local\Bitcoin
- armory database dir: C:\Users\( my user name )\AppData\Roaming\Armory\databases

Don't mess with the Bitcoin Core data.

Run this binary via the command line. Spawn the command line by typing "cmd" in the windows start menu search, cd to the folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Armory ) and spawn ArmoryDB.exe from there. Paste the output here.

C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming/Bitcoin/blocks is not a valid path

So it cannot find your blockchain data at the expected location. You will have to tell it where to look:

Code:
ArmoryDB.exe --satoshi-datadir=C:\Users\(username)\local/Bitcoin

or whatever the Bitcoin Core data folder is. You're looking for the folder where the /blocks folder lives, with some 500GB+ worth of data

Thanks! Oke I found the blocks with the cmd and used the command: dir ArmoryDB.exe --satoshi-datadir=C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Bitcoin\blocks
Is this correct? And what shall I do next?

I also tried to fill in \Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Bitcoin\blocks at armory settings Bitcoin home dir. restarted the wallet but it hasn't has any effect. Just trying!:)

Thank you for your response! I followed the steps again and while I checked the box of Plane Base58, this time the data did not show my private key or address but only my rootkey and chaincode. What could be here the issue?
That happens if the wallet isn't synced and haven't use at least one address and "Include Unused (Address Pool)" isn't ticked.

And based from your reply, it seems like you didn't copy the (un)selected options in the screenshot since those data that you mentioned are still showing in the list.

I was now checking something else, and that is:

That happened because Bitcoin Core's (GUI)'s data directory is already set in your registry when you first started it (in the "Welcome Screen").
If you want to move it, you have to start it in Welcome Screen again by starting bitcoin-qt.exe with --choosedatadir arg to point it to where you moved the datadir.

FYI, older Bitcoin Core version used the "roaming" directory but the later versions now default to "local" unless there's an existing datadir in the latter.

Thanks in advance!

I thought the same but this is the content I got in my CMD when I use the command command: dir ArmoryDB.exe --satoshi-datadir=C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Bitcoin\blocks

When I use the command dir C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Bitcoin and then dir ArmoryDB.exe it gives content of volume C and volume serial number
I also tried the command step by step (i am new in this, as you have experienced:)) so I did-> dir \username\AppData\Local and then ArmoryDB.exe, but it does not gave further info. Which commands should I give in the CMD?

Don't use "dir", just use "ArmoryDB.exe". "dir" lists all the files in the current folder. Unfortunately I also just realized you have XOR'ed blocks, which Armory can't read. You'd have to redownload the chain with xor'ing turned off. This is sadly getting beyond what I suspect you can stomach. I'd suggest you turn your focus to what nc50lc is recommending.

Do you mean the --choosedatadir arg?
It's a command line arg so it should be set in your terminal (PowerShell/cmd) or a shortcut to bitcoin-qt's parameter in "Target" field.
However, goatpig's remark is true, specially if you can confirm that you're using Bitcoin Core v28~v30
and your bitcoin datadir is just created by any those versions, not updated from an older version.

In that case, you'll actually need to delete your current bitcoin/blocks folder
Then sync using using Bitcoin Core v27.x (recommended for other compatibility reasons) or start your current version with --blocksxor=0 arg before syncing again.
Then after that, you'll have to deal with setting up Armory.

If that's too much, you can export your private keys and import it elsewhere.
The provided tutorial to do that should work, if not, double-check if you missed something.

Thank you both! And no problem I will do what is needed. So I will delete and unstill my current bitcoinCORE version and install https://bitcoincore.org/en/releases/27.0/ and then collect all the block. And I will start the 27.0 version without xor'ing blocks. Is that an box I just can leave empty or do I need to give an command before installing?
