Well, I have posted this in the WO thread, but I believe this case deserves a dedicated thread. People should never commit suicide doesn't matter the situation. It won't be hard for a grown man to make a few million dollars especially when he is esbalished already. We never expect such death; nobody should commit suicide because of the crypto market movement.

A Ukrainian crypto trader has been found dead in Kyiv in the wake of a market crash, with officials now treating the incident as a possible suicide, according to local police. Konstantin Galich (better known as Kostya Kudo) was found inside a Lamborghini Urus in the Obolonskyi district of Kyiv Oct. 11 with a gunshot wound to the head. According to police reports, a firearm registered to him was also at the scene. A statement shared on the Kyiv Police Department’s Telegram channel said the focus was on establishing if the act was self-inflicted or involved foul play.

The statement said that a day before his death, “the man told relatives that he was feeling depressed due to financial difficulties and also sent them a farewell message.”

But I believe that thread has a different purpose. It was created in the the the beginner and help sections,s, and the topic title; are totally different. We are in the economics section and we can discuss this in a different way. The same incidents can different threads for different reason, even though we have seen multiple threads for the same reason before. But I want to believe that my thread has a different purpose even though the context we get is from the same incident.

I hope this makes some sense. If people think it's not, then I will lock the thread. So your opinion is welcomed.

As much as I do not support suicide if that's the case in his death, but this isn't a case of market recovery since the guy in question is a trader and judging from the reports that most of traders accounts were wiped out and some close to zero balances, we do not know the category he fell in and some people aren't that emotionally strong cannot really deal with some level of disappointments. The dude must've really been affected by the crash to a dangerous level that he considered suicide as the only backup plan available to him

Anyone who has control of vast amounts of crypto is going to be a target, even more so as the price creeps upwards and unless he did something particularly foolish with it - I wonder why he felt there was no reason to live. I know nothing about his circumstances or whether he was successful, but trading can be an extremely dangerous area so it's possible that he lost all his money. Anyone who can create a Binance account can call themselves a trader, so lets not act like it is some special skill to spend money on that activity, there will be very few people who are able to pull it off successfully and consistently. In this case there is no reason to think foul play was involved, unless someone can say that he had lots of crypto that has since disappeared.

The case is still vague; the investigators have yet to establish suicide, they are just suspecting it and the chance of being killed is still on their list.  Not because a person stated that he has financial difficulty means the person will commit suicide; it can be a coincidence before the event.

The story said that the guy said farewell, but does not say he would kill himself... so the death is still suspicious of suicide.  From your observation that the man look he has a lot of money tells that there is probably another reason for the guy's death.

It can't be stroke because it is said that there is a gunshot in his head. I won't also say this as a robbery because the Lamborghini is still there and he was inside it. Also the firearm that is used for murder is said to be his. A rumoured foul play can still be possible though. We don't know what if the guy took loans from the people that he knows the most and can not repay them anymore due to what happened in the crypto market.

Even the people that we know can also do harm to us especially if the involve amount is huge already. I can see that he is also an influencer but this can be another reason on why he must always trade with a huge amount. You know, he might try to show-off.

Crypto users who commits suicides are typically those who unfortunately for their hard earned money on crypto scam especially when the amount lost is beyond affordability to lose. So they think all hope to life which is financially sustainability is lost or how they can not afford to stay from afresh after they were closed to their dream or they have leveraged the funds for investment but they lost it I can not stand the indebted ness.
This can be prevented if we can stop investing in Crypto with borrowed funds and don't have to invest on random coins but invest on reliable coins  while stay informed about scammers and their strategies online while you must keep your investment portfolio private and don't disclose your portfolio and seed phrases to risk with others.

But it is important to control yourself from such things like commiting suicide. This guy was unable to coontrol himself he shot himself with his own licensed weapon which was found near his body in his car. It is really fraustrating to see such incident happens. Since he was an enterprenuer, I don't think he has taken loan, or he was afraid of his loan. We always don't know what is happening in others life. There might be other reason why he committed suicide. It's just unacceptable.

I was literally referring to how suicidal incidents can be avoided which we know it is out of inability to control their emotions when they looses their funds crypto where as likely once it is gone, it is gone forever. So when you have also invested more of your asset on bitcoin, vulnerables will always think suicide will be the best.
That is why it is also advised to diversify assets and don't put all your eggs in one basket. Perhaps the temptations events that encouraging suicidal may not only be at the point you lost your the asset with a borrowed fund. It is all about loosing that you can not afford to loose just like that. It is also important to spread the risk probabilities so that others can learn that commiting suicide out lost of disappointment for your lost of values whether by loans or personal funds is not worth taking your own life.

If you lost to scammers they will live and enjoy the money while you are gone. If you lost out of leverage market will always remain and if you stay alive, you can do better. Infact, there is probability to be successful as long tou are alive while death is hopeless and sorrowful for the family.

I'd like to believe there is. This is a seasoned traders and investor who understand the market. He is also an influencer, so he understands what to do in times of a crash and may even have preached about it.
There's a possibility of foul play here, and if there is no foul play, there could be other problems, and the market crash has fueled his depression, which leads to his suicide.
Whatever the reason, I hope the investigators can uncover it.

We, who have experienced several bull runs and bear markets can say this but if this is ever his first bull run and he's bet on his portfolio to pay all of his stuff. Then, that's the mistake that he's done there. If that is the real reason why he has taken his own life due to financial problems then he's pushed himself too much for having all of those expensive stuff. There are threads made about what we invest in the market should be not the only money that we have. And maybe that's on his case, all the money he's invested is what he's only relying on and with payments left and right coming to him, he can't afford to sell all of those or he's probably even negative balance after his portfolio just for paying all of his dues as the market dropped a lot when this incident has happened.

You're right, we may not see what's really going on, his problems are deep and obviously when it comes to money it doesn't seem like he's lacking, or it could be that he's running out of money and has a lot of debts, this was not discussed earlier about the debts that he may have.

Speculation as to why he committed suicide is that it coincided with the crash that decimated the market, many positions were liquidated on 10-11, hence many people attribute the forced liquidation to that day and the subsequent suicides.

You're right, we may not see what's really going on, his problems are deep and obviously when it comes to money it doesn't seem like he's lacking, or it could be that he's running out of money and has a lot of debts, this was not discussed earlier about the debts that he may have.

I still can't tell for sure if those was really the real reasons behind his death or not, but a farewell letter says everything. What i am sure about is that we should always respect the rule of Never invest in what you can't afford to lose. In this case he might not suicide because of a lot of debts but rather because his position as a public figure damaged because of the recent market recession, which directly infect his self-confidence as a famous influencer.

Of course, losing money is not easy - but we who are in the world of cryptocurrencies should know that it is actually an unrealized loss that can be compensated in the future, unless we play with leverage and gamble away something we have earned with great difficulty. So if one day your portfolio is worth $100 000, and two days later it's $90 000 and you haven't sold anything, in a few days or weeks that same portfolio could be worth $110 000.
