China's Rare Earth Metals export control is a war against the west
1. China controls over 80% of rare earth production and supply chain. No one could replace china overnight or even in a few decades.
2. China has made it clear that they can't afford to see Russia lose in Ukraine.
3. They have now implemented export restrictions on Rare Earth Metals.
4. Rare earth metals are important for most motors, electronics and military equipment.
5. China's restriction forbids the importing country from using the REMs for producing weapons.
6. For the time being, the west could use shadow companies and indirect routes to get the REMs at larger price but it would hurt the already dire economy.
7. On worst case, China could totally stop the exports making west's ability to produce weapons minimal ending many wars including the one in Ukraine.
8. A depleted west would open China's path to invade Taiwan.
