I find your comment very confusing. Because from what you have said, I cannot understand why you would take the risk of buying an old wallet. For example, there are some advantages and disadvantages of buying an old wallet. If we talk about the advantages, then there are very few advantages. For example, if a person forgets that someone has already left some bitcoins in the old wallet, and one is to see the information about who has already been trading bitcoins. You can get these advantages.

The disadvantages are very complex, through these you can go bankrupt. For example, if there is any kind of malware or virus in the wallet, then your wallet can be destroyed, if that person has the private key of your wallet, then your holdings can be stolen. There are many such complications. Instead of buying an old wallet, continue to buy bitcoins continuously and use a new wallet, it will be good for you.

You are naive

He is trying to prove he owns bitcoin from 10 years ago, i.e, he wants to clean up his money (or his bitcoin).

He will move the funds ASAP, but he will be able to sign a message to prove he bought bitcoin for 400 USD but sold it for 120,000 USD.

@OP You have to be careful. scammers will try to contact you. Try to add more details such as wallet activity, first deposit date and transfer amounts.

It may be for tax reasons, calming an airdrop, or to prove a history of service by placing the address as a donation address.

Why do people buy old wallets? I don't understand what the point is.
It seems like a rather strange thing to me that I hadn't heard of, like people who buy iPhone or MacBook boxes
Why is this done? Thanks for any explanation. I just want to understand

Calming an airdrop: Some airdrops require you to have Bitcoin holdings dating back to 2020 or 2015.
Tax purposes: You can claim that you bought at $100,000 and sold at $60,000.
Money laundering: By claiming you bought 100 Bitcoin for $100.
