its not a choice made in someones head..
every conception of every child depends on one male and one female.

what you have to understand is at the genetic level of BOTH partners. there are small abnormalities by which some genes from male are not compatible with the female genes and vice versa. whereby one side had to dominate

each conception is unique, each partnership is unique.

other factors such as hormones and enzymes and nutrients can affect how well/healthy/strong the genes inside a sperm/egg are. also how compatible the partners are. so there are some environmental stuff that can affect whoms genes dominate to make the end result off spring a certain way

yes in high stress situations where certain food varieties are not metabolised can affect the genes in the sperm which then affect the chances of offsprings gender swaying more in one direction than the other. but its still luck/gamble and not a system you can categorically control via knowledge of someones dna/diet/ environment before conception

there are traits which can be seen as dominant. for instance families that naturally have twins or certain hair colour, usually pass it down where the offspring inherits one of those traits
but its not like every trait of the mother is what the offspring becomes, nor everything of the father is what the offspring becomes
some daughters can look more like their father. some daughters can look more like the the mother
some sons can look more like their father. some sons can look more like the the mother

sometimes the best way to know if their is a dominant trait is to look at the grandparents and parents, such as if a father and grandfather have a particular shaped nose.. but the mother and grandmother dont share such resemblance then the fathers nose trait is more dominant than the mothers nose trait

but what might be dominant in one offspring may not be dominant in their sibling

A male has two chromosome XY, with the Y chromosome playing a very curicial role in male sex determination. A female on the other side just carried XX chromosomes. So it's the Y from the male that will always ensure the child develops into a male offspring. Without that Y or if it's just the X chromosome, then it's always going to be a female offspring

The chance to have a male or female child is 50% and therefore neither a male of female can determine the sex of the child through will. It's just chance and no one should carrry the blame.

Okay, so while its basically true that a mans X or Y chromosome in sperm kicks things off to decide the gender of a baby, there are proven cases where other factors, often from the mom or the kids own genes, can change the final physical and hormonal outcome.  But I think these are very rare cases and are essentially exceptions.

The spermatozoa of the man has to fertilized the oocyte of the woman for an offspring to be produced. It's by heaven's and nature's choice so no one really will know who's got the stronger cells for the offspring. I think that both just have to be thankful if there's a fruit after their love making. And think of it that many keeps on trying but they have failed until they get old and none has bear fruit with that and yet, that didn't affect their marriage. Firstly the blaming of the women for giving birth to a particular sex is a backward tradition and it is done by people or tribe that have no respect for women. A man from a tribe where he can marry as much wife as possible will blame the wife if they both get offspring of a particular sex that isn’t his desire, that can be used as an excuse for him to get another wife, and those people who blame women for giving birth to offspring that the husband doesn’t desire won’t praise her or credit her for being the reason for them getting their desired see as an offspring.

its not as "simple science" as made out..

for instance if an average male ejaculation is 200m sperm. its not simply that there are 100m of X sperm and 100m of Y sperm
there are other factors involved

for instance the wifes genes, health, hormones may be stronger aligned to attract more of the X sperm to enter and fuse to the ovum and to create females
also the wife might have fed and pampered the husband in such a way that the males hormones and enzymes which affect his sperm is more so 150m X and only 50m Y thus odds are he is producing better odds of him sending a female gene sperm into the woman, via her social interactions with her husband

other factors such as stress dont make it an equal balance
so its not so much that the woman has no involvement nor control, but also its not her 100% fault either. there are many factors at play. but ultimately nothing anyone can 100% control to a 100% certainty of results

with this said the reason men want male offspring is the lineage. a daughter getting married loses the family name and gets the new husbands name and so the father of daughter doesnt get to extend his surname down the generations.
also in cases such as this if the daughter inherits wealth the wealth then moves into the daughters husbands families named lineage, thus making a new family name wealthy instead of passing down a known family name

This is what biology teaches us back in secondary school days. So right now we have also read and heard that the Y chromosome from the man which represents the possibility of a male child, swims faster than the X chromosome (girl child) both from the man's sperm. So the Y chromosome reaches the female egg faster to fertilize the egg but the Y chromosome dies faster than the X chromosome. Therefore, if the egg is ready, there is high possibility of the Y chromosome to reach there and fertilize faster than the X chromosome. And the X chromosome lives longer than the Y chromosome. What that means is the X chromosome lives longer in the ovaries of a woman. Incase the egg is not ready yet and the Y chromosome dies off, the X chromosome fertilizes the egg. So it also depends on the day of ovulation, the X chromosome can last as much as 5 days while the Y chromosome is 2/3 days. Thus, I'm not giving expert explanation because I'm not a Gynecologist, it is just an unprofessional knowledge so I may not be totally correct. Child is child and the sex of a child is unique. God is the giver of child sex.
