What could be the reason why we have been seeing different authoritarian governments in different part of the world trying to make life difficult for people in the name of democracy, reducing the freedom of speech gradually. Authoritarian governments will tell you how you will behave and how you need to live your life. In most of these authoritarian countries, there is no genuine election because government controls everything and can manipulate results to suit themselves while they continue staying in office.

Democracy is a regime of freedom but we have seen some countries trying to govern their people with strictness enforcing law that compromise their privacies. China is an authoritarian regime but it has been advancing in technology creating opportunities for her citizens to become self dependent on their own technology and mineral resources. Will there be any consequences if America slightly turn to an authoritarian regime? Your thought will be needed here on both authoritarian and democracy regimes.

Democracy is the best form of governance. I've read about autocracy, and from what you've said, a rigid system of government that doesn't give the citizens right to vote and be voted for can best be described as autocracy, and the kind of government your narrating falls under that.

What makes democracy to be efficient is not only the electoral process which involves the majority of electorate to select their leaders, but the efficiency of democracy also deals with building solid institutions that cannot be compromised, that is what the American system is currently enjoying from.

A system where the law is supreme, just, and everyone gets justice, is the most suitable, be it in democracy or authoritarianism, otherwise the leaders become like god and abusive in authoritarian system while in democracy the leaders, including the country becomes weak with a strong but divided subjects placing their interests above the  country or everyone's interest.

Democracy is the government of the thieves. They called it freedom but what is beneath that is greed and embezzlement of public funds. They will allocate projects to their partners in crime, families and godfathers licking their superior ass.
They will allocate more than enough for a project and use less than enough to finish the project. After few years, they will allocate more funds for same project in the name of maintenance. They will attack their opponents and try to disgrace them...I rest my here!

There is so much corruption in democratic system of government. Despite the fact it is not supposed to be so, the leaders is supposed to be representing the interest of the masses but it is not so.The right of citizens to protest against bad government has been taken from then   especially in Africa countries that claim they are practicing democracy. It is authoritarian rule in disguise of democracy, in democratic rule power belong to the people but it is not so in Africa countries especially in Nigeria. The vote of the citizens doesn't count, politicians will manipulate elections results to suit there interest. What is being practiced in most of this country is authoritarian system of government.

That's why the founding fathers of the US government made it to be a combination of a Republic with a virtually hands-off the Republic style of Democracy. The one thing they didn't provide for was a method to teach this to the people of the Republic. So, the Democracy quietly uses the Contract Clause to bring the people of the Republic partly into the Democracy of the government... where they have authority over them.

The evidence of this is the ways the words 'person' and 'people' are used in the Constitution and laws.

If the people saw it clearly at the beginning times of the country, the country might not have become strong. But the people back then saw it more clearly than the people of today. What we need is for all the people of today to wake up to the understanding of this, so that they learn how to keep from being unduly influenced by the government Democracy (Dictatorship).

Yes , democracy as it is stated is a government by the people and for the people, where by citizens has right to vote and be voted for, instead what we see now is dictatorship,  expecially in Nigeria. They now run singular system of governance instead of plural. All political officers now want to belong to the rulling party, there by amount to autocracy system of government.   A system of government where leaders are chosen by selection instead of election, the electoral electoral system has been polarized and deminished.nothing seems to be working appropriately again in the system. it is important for citizens to stand firm and defend the constitution upholding the system of there government.

Most times I hardly fall in to major discussion about politics and it's philosophies simply because it leaves me very angry at the slightest of it's thought, seeing how set of people called politicians are taking advantage of what should be a the public, they are so mean and intoxicated by power and they manipulate every system of the government for achieve their selfish desires, citizens are being helpless when they can not fight the government they has failed to fulfill their obligations accordingly. What does conformity theory of truth says? It says that if you can't beat them you joine them.

What we are seeing now is not the true democracy we were promised but a different thing entirely.
If you dive in from the aspect of privacy, we no longer get the kind of privacy we supposed to get because the government is looking for a shortcut to access all our private lives, promising to guide and protect us. In the UK, the government has been talking about digital identity and how this is going to be done is still in the early state sounding like it's going to lead to the mark of the beast.
This is unknown agenda by the government to make us admit to what we don't know the brain behind it.

"Government of the people, by the people and for the people" doesn't exist anywhere in the world. What we have in most so-called democracies is government of the few. The true feature of democracy is the separation of powers between the arms of government. The independence of the Judiciary is paramount in the protection of the interests of the people. But in most countries, the executive controls other arms of the government. Yu could see quasi-democracy in developed countries and autocratic democracy in most developing nations.
