Should women be arrested for false rape accusation?

 This post wasn't created to trigger any gender discrimination or bring arguments amongst both genders, I've come across stories of how several men have been falsely accused of rape and some where tried and sent to jail for years before found not guilty of the allegation, I read a story of a woman who accused her husband of raping their daughter and he spent time behind bars before being deported back to his country, after several years the wife travelled back home apologising and confessing to his family that she lied with reasons that the husband do hit her before they travelled abroad and that's the only way she could revenge even though he stopped hitting her when they travelled abroad.
 I've also seen several rape accusations on footballers which later turned out to be false and most times the accusers goes scot-free even when the accused have served for things they didn't do, which made me bring up this topic, "should a woman be sent to jail for falsely accusing a man for rape"?

This is happening due to the failure of the justice system, it is supposed to be unbiased but in reality it always favors women directly or indirectly and some women took advantage of this and played their cards as they wished.

Unfortunately, the women who made false claims may not face anything serious, probably a few months of jail time. But they should be facing severe prison time if we don't want the women to abuse any law. I suggest anyone who falsely uses a victim card should be behind bars for atleast 20 years.

Several footballers has also been falsely accused and some even spend time in jail for the offense they didn't commit but after months or years most of them will spend behind bars they will find them not guilty but I never heard that those women who made those falsely accusations are arrested or made to pay damages for hurting the people they accused.

The law is some who against the men if you look very well some of the footballers who spent time in prison end up losing all their endorsement as a result of the allegations but when they are found not guilty no one talks about how to compensate them or arrest the women who accused them wrongly it's bad may be if they start arresting those women they will stop accusing men wrongly.

If it were up to me. Anyone who falsely accuses the other party of a crime they did not commit should be as well be sued, charge and tried for the false accusations they made and this includes women who make false rape accusations.

This is exactly how it ought to be, the rate of false accusations keep increasing among footballers and celebrities because when they are finally humiliated and traumatized if they are later not found guilty of those crimes the women go free no one will make them to pay for their crimes. There should be a punishment for false accusations it will help to reduce the way some women wants to take advantage of the law to destroy the lives of some celebrities and footballers. You will never see them accusing a broke guy they always target those who dey will destroy their career and make broke simply because they didn't agree to whatever they wanted.

False accusation should also be penalized. But I think that it's also depending on the person that's being accused by these women and will ask for their forgiveness. The punishment will depend on how heavy they want it to be and how serious their false accusation planted to the victim. It's a trend lately that also leads to divorce because they know that there's a share of wealth that they want to take. If serious punishment will also given to the false accusations, I think that it will scare also women who's got these bad plans to their partners.

everywhere in the world, false accusation has a high degree of offence, often called assesination if character, such unscrupulous attitude is capable of sending one to jail. It is quiet unfortunate that the society expecially the court room are always quick to judge the make gender especially as it has to do with the issue of rape, without going deep down to carry out proper investigation with open mind. A lot of men has rot in jail of false accusation for sexual abuse.  Female who falsefuly accused male for sexual abuse , should be jailed after proper investigation beyond reasonable has been carried out.

Yes,those who accuse men without proof should do a jail term for that. So many women especially the white skinned women against the black colored men.sometime i read a post on how a young man say 20yrs when he was sent to prison but will regain freedom at 60yrs without compasation. Officials will say That the man was released for lack of enough evidence .The woman should go and serve the same number of years the man served for lying against him.

the investigative/justice system needs an overhaul, for many reasons

firstly, when there are only a few categories of sexual crimes, for real victims to get recognised as victims they have to embellish details just to get the police intrigued enough to investigate. many police would assume sexual coercion in a relationship is just "a domestic issue" thinking a couple just need couples therapy and thus not their job

other things like when there is sexual harassment of 'just grabbing ass' many think the women should cover up in 20 layers of clothing to not show their ass to tempt men, rather than realise some men cant control their hands and cant respect womens personal space

there needs to be actual recognition of more levels things like: unwanted touching, harassment, assault, rape. where each layer/level has proper recognition of consequence, trauma/injury inflicted, punishment. this way things are not brushed off, nor that women have to put up with it, nor embellish it to get police to do something.. whereby things are handled at the true level of the incident

.. then when a woman does report a simpler crime of unwanted touching, she can feel listened to and have it investigated properly at the level it is implied, and handled properly at that level, without embellishing it. whereby the punishment fits the crime

EG guy intentionally touching a women even when told not to.. is not deserving as a crime where a guy is instantly arrested in public, made to do a public perp "walk of shame" be put on a sex offenders list, named in media before trial and treated as a rapist. but instead investigated and if found guilty, go through some courses related to respect, consent, personal space, self control and treated in similar manner as if he punched someone and had to go through anger management. after all assault is assault

then when actual crimes are handled professionally at the levels deemed worthy. real cases can actually be dealt with..

Yes what you’ve said about most of this footballers loosing endorsement and opportunities and not being compensated afterwards because of false rape allegations are actually true. I believe when they are found not guilty after serving years in jail, the women who tendered false accusations should be apprehended and serve same number of years the accused spent in jail and even more for accusing falsely, because that’s a huge crime which has affected the accused in so many ways. So the women should not just be allowed Scot-free because this will show the level of equality and not biased a nation is. It will also help to reduce false accusations like this.

When it's something that involves the weak or vulnerable, there should be trustworthy person  or people to always stand for them whether they later confess or not. The defenders should assume the alleged rape victims confessed under duress, and could even put them under protective custody until they are absolutely sure the alleged victims are completely dishonest. Then they could be punished for lying, defamation, etc, but the gravity of the punishment should depend on why they did the accusations. It could be for defense against potential harm or serious past mistreatments. Or they are just being evil for no reason or to gain something from the accused like financial rewards, etc

It's important to be thorough in cases like this otherwise genuine rape victims may be discouraged from speaking out in the future.

The law does not see women as guilty so you don't have to blame them and the selfish people that implemented all these laws that are meant to punish men even when they are on their right are all simps.  Male are born to suffer while the opposite gender smile with no consequences.

If you failed to pay child support to the woman that claimed she gave you a child, you might end up in the prison. When the law check for the paternity of the child and it's not yours, you will be left with nothing and their might not be any compensation for the man.

Anyone who falsely reports any crime is putting themselves in danger of being arrested. Perhaps for crimes like rape that carry serious consequences for those charged, a false report should carry some extra penalties, but you shouldn’t think that people are out there reporting false crimes and not getting into trouble.

This is indeed a serious matter. Women are always seen as the victims because they can be emotional. They can be lying and crying at the same time, which would make law enforcement agents and judges have compassion on them. We used to have a couple who were our neighbours. The woman was physically stronger than the man. Each time they have a misunderstanding and start fighting, she would be shouting and crying as if it were the man who was beating her. Anyone who willingly tarnishes the reputation of other person and send them to prison for a crime they did not commit is supposed to face justice and be send to prison instead of their victim.

I understand there me be more fair earing for women against men, but the truth is that the judge cannot proclaim a judgement when there is no cognitive evidence to show or back it up that the woman has been raped, also, i so much believed that for a woman to have thought of something like that to accused a man for raping, the man must have done something much terrible that she felt the only way of revenge for her is to accused it, so he can bear the consequence of what he has done to her as payback, you will be so surprised if you see the way some men treated women as well.

False accusation is a crime and false rape accusation shouldn't be an exception, infact it is one of the most tarnishing accusation that can be laid on anybody. Unfortunately I've not followed up to know what happens to these false accusers whether they are also tried and jailed like they intended for the victims that they lied against or they're let to go free. I think that punishment should be more severe for false accusation because the act is pure wickedness towards an innocent person or people. If heavy punishment awaits false accusers they will think twice before trying to destroy another person's name and life.

This question is a sensitive one. We all know that women are mostly known as victim of rape but you see false rape accusation can rip away lives. Never to forget, that also goes to a real rape—this doesn't harm only the accused but makes it harder for the real victim to be believed when someone speaks about such serious crime like this and therefore before  going on to punish someone that is being accused of such crime, one must thread with caution.
This thing called false accusations can tarnish a man's reputation, peace forever and his life. The society must be careful not to discourage the real victims here because those that might survive from this will have the fear of speaking out, dismissed or shamed.
So I will say yes, if it's clearly proven that someone is guilty or deliberately lied to destroy another person's life, they should be held accountable but it should be handled fairly or empathy because justice is meant to protect both the true and innocent people.

Man this isn't even something or a topic that needs much delegation as it is as simple, transparent and clear as it states. For a person to false accuse a guiltless and innocent man of a crime like rape, that person is also capable of pulling a trigger at someone. Reason is the act of rape is one that is seen as a very grave offense in our contemporary society therefore anyone caught who's guilty of it's charge is likely to go through alot to be very real and frank.

I have had this conversation in the past. I so much thing that he who alleges must prove and without proving, you bear the consequences. The punishment for raping is severe and that is why enemies try to implicate an innocent person and send them to prison in the name of false accusations.

I hardly see a rape case where a woman was the only victim. We are gradually embracing gender inequality. And it caused by designing laws that doesn't portray woman as the weaker vessel.
