What a funny and extraordinary way to merge trading and gambling at same scenario. This might be the birth of a new gambling concern, it wouldn't be long for it to become very obtainable.

Nope, I'm not into trading, so I don't think bets of this kind would interest me. I think the trading community would be more interested in betting on their thing.

I think I'll choose Oshosondy, he's the one who has demonstrated very much passion for trading to the extent he even took a bet for daily profitability in it.

I thought I’d only see something like that in movies, but it’s actually happening in real life.

This is new to me,  I had no idea it even existed. But if you ask whether I’d bet on it, I don’t think I would. You never really know who’s behind the trades, and it’s risky when there’s big money backing someone as it could easily be rigged.

Team sports still feel more legitimate to me, so I’ll just stick with sports betting, especially the NBA.

Maybe I will place a bet if the odds are good and also if the chance of winning is also good. The chance of winning being good, I mean if the trader that I am to bet on has developed a good records in winning multiple trades which has made bettors to always go for him, but if the chance of winning is low where I have to just make a random selection, that's means it's no difference from the slot games, I just have to focus on playing favorite slots and favorite sports.

Since I have been participating in discussion on the trading board on the forum, one active user I notice is Oshosondy and I have also read many of his trading post, he seems to be a good trader, so I will recommend him. There's also another user but I can't remember the user name.

Oh men you want us to start mentioning names, this is something that i will not want to give any specific member as to represent in the trading e-sport contests, since i know the risk that comes along with future perpetual event's which is something that could be unpredictable so for that, i prefer to go in myself if they make the event open to whoever want to take part in it.

This combination of gambling and trading is not new since there’s already binary trading being offered by the casino before even if it’s classified as trading since user is betting on the price of assets.

Trading competition is not new since many exchange done this for a long time. The idea of connecting it to gambling is due to the birth of social gambling that literally offer a betting option on any occurrences in the world including a tournament like this.

Creating an e-sports dedicated for trader might be a little over hype since there’s nothing much action on trading compared to other e-sports that is a game.

I'm not very keen on placing bets on e-Sports, although I have placed a few before, but I find this new concept more interesting than simply betting on people playing videogames. Perhaps that's just because the regulars of this forum are the perfect target for such modality, even if it will be difficult for it to become widespread.

You said it was an event in September, so there is no platform where we can actually bet for people who trade live, or is there? If that was the case, answering to your question, I would definitely try it, if only out of curiosity.

It will be good to try it but is it going to be available on gambling sites like Stake for example? If it is not there, the probability that I will use it to gamble will be very low. But if it is on the common crypto gambling sites that we are using, I may try it and see how it is. But I may not like it because I only prefer few games on the gambling sites but I may give it a try.

It looks interesting, although I wouldn't mention anyone from the forum in proposals of this type. I think it's a personal decision and mentioning them would be like encouraging someone to commit to a cause without even knowing if that someone is willing or wants to participate in this type of thing, since many here value anonymity, and this type of sport requires disclosure of identity and public exposure.

The concept of Crypto Trading as an E-Sport sounds so much competitive and entertaining  over there, than the way it sounds here.
Am also for certain that this crypto as E-Sport would be virtual funds with real market data and the entertainment part would be coming from a live analysis commentary center and with high stakes betting with great strategies enacted on play for short term returns.

Surely a lot of skill is required here and the traders I know right now don't stand a chance in even a demo league online, let alone perform in a live trading competitive environment with high stakes, crowds cheering, adrenaline pumping and hearts racing.

That would be great indeed. Theres many lovers of esport and for sure if this incorporated in crypto betting let say prediction market. Many gamers or users love to be on their favorite moba team or dota players. I think esport will be good imo. Actually Im quite suprise that this hasnt been done or theres anyone beside OP topic have done it already?

Trading could actually comes in form of challenge, whereby we can see it also as an entertaining one that people could come over to see how everyone could display their competences in trading and at the same time being an entertainment even for the people to see.

It's not a bad idea if we can see such challenge happening, as a matter of fact, I least expected that government could even be the core sponsor of things like this, which shows that there is more we could further expect from activities related in this manner once they government are going to encourage the efforts of people on trading and investment in cryptocurrency rather than the way they used to attack for it, and of course, we have more than enough members here on the forum who could take up this challenge and win.

No I won't place a bet on it. Reason is I can't be sure of the competence of the traders. Meanwhile, to bet on trading event looks weigh out of what I want to do. I would trade by myself rather than staking my money on another trader because I know trading has risk that I would like taking myself and not in proxy.

Hahaha, I wouldn't be sure of who to suggest. This is not actually a trading platform where people can display their strategy, winnings and all. What is relied upon is guesses or maybe what we see on the btc prediction threads. So no one is my guess

This is a great thing, definitely worth considering, and it doesn't even seem like nonsense to me, considering that chess is also considered a sport and only requires intellect, it wouldn't surprise me.
I truly believe that it is possible in the future to see trading as an e-sport.

My social media account is now following events like Street Fighter games and tournaments, but more like fighting games. That's my era, that's why.

I do believe that E-sports should also focus on these events. There are many 90's and 2000s arcade players who are still following this type of game, not the NBA2k or the MOBA type of game.

Now, when it comes to crypto trading, I don't think it's getting a lot of audience. Let's face it, that's a boring type of industry, although maybe some nerds will focus on it. I will not recommend it to anyone because I know they will not have an idea about it.
E-sports, when mentioned, is mostly about gaming, not trading.

I'm not really sure if I will or if I will not place a bet on a crypto event, even betting on the bitcoin price if it will go up or down, which is available on some betting sites. I don't try to do that. I don't know how I will treat this one if I'm watching it live from where it's displayed; maybe I will be persuaded to try it out.

How did they label crypto trading as an e-sport when it is an activity that involves real financial markets? Crypto trading doesn't have rules and referees, it's not a game, it's influenced by politics and real-world economic events. Trump's statement of 100% tariffs on imports from China crashed the crypto market and liquidated billions of dollars. SEC's false leak also manipulated the market. In 2020 Elon Musk manipulated the market. Trading is not an e-sport and I would say that it's a very unfair game where only influencers and billionaires succeed unless someone is an early investor and sticks to HODLing.

Following the concept of innovation is always better than not joining the event, which will later lead to missing out on the benefits that come with the new concept.
Having said that, the idea of South Korea switching crypto trading event as an esports is not something suprising and I believe the samething will happen to the people who understand the South Korea to be a nation cherish fun and entertainment from their street, amusement park and house there's always something that showcase art, culture in a dynamic, exciting, and fun way.

About suggesting someone who i think can out-trade anyone, I have no comment since I don't know the person with such skill, and the crypto trading market is broad, so there's always someone ahead of others.

It's an interesting way to bet. I didn't quite understand how it works, what the rules are, but it's what the betting market allows; there's always an opportunity to make a guess. I did some research and found this video about the competition; it seems like this "sport" is here to stay...

Scenario like this individuals will always see themselves as the best fit for the job. In trading, we cannot choose another person judgement in all cases. Especially when it comes to choosing someone to represent the community. I am not a good trader, I just started learning how to trade. At the same time, I wont choose anyone to represent because I do not know them in person and the level of knowledge they have. Most of them have written knowledge but in practice they are not what they say they are.
