Recently, I was able to open the Trezor Suite, as well as any other appimage, without any problems. However, everything changed after making some system modifications.

I installed KDE Plasma on my Ubuntu 24.04, and after this, I can no longer run some appimages like Trezor Suite or Ledger Live. However, some other appImages run, like Electrum.

Trezor Suite file name and version: Trezor-Suite-25.10.1-linux-x86_64.AppImage

I've already tried enabling access permissions: sudo chmod 4755 and chmod +x, but that doesn't solve the problem.

When I try to run it directly from the terminal, this error message appears:

Code:
./Trezor-Suite-25.10.1-linux-x86_64.AppImage
[14339:1016/130837.754256:FATAL:sandbox/linux/suid/client/setuid_sandbox_host.cc:166] The SUID sandbox helper binary was found, but is not configured correctly. Rather than run without sandboxing I'm aborting now. You need to make sure that /tmp/.mount_TrezorDmaW9a/chrome-sandbox is owned by root and has mode 4755.
Trace/breakpoint trap (recorded core image)

I will provide more details as I investigate the issue.

There is one easy temporary solution for you, just use Trezor Suite web version from your web browser:
https://suite.trezor.io/web/

You can also try manual installation from source, or flatpak for all Linux systems that can be found on Flathub website.
Many things can go wrong with Linux OS, especially if you are not experienced with it, but you can read what Tretor posted for installing on Linux OS:
https://trezor.io/guides/trezor-suite/installing-trezor-suite-on-linux

Code:
You need to make sure that /tmp/.mount_TrezorDmaW9a/chrome-sandbox is owned by root and has mode 4755.

The above response gives the clue.

You need first to change ownership chown for chrome-sandbox and then change permission by applying chmod.

Also you may try to run AppImage with --no-sandbox flag.

Code:
./Trezor-Suite-25.10.1-linux-x86_64.AppImage --no-sandbox

P.S. Using --no-sandbox can make your machine vulnerable especially if it is already infected.

If system modification involve upgrading/changing OS to Ubuntu 24.04, it's probably because AppArmor change on Ubuntu 24.04. https://askubuntu.com/a/1511655 or https://askubuntu.com/a/1528215 may solve your issue, but i can't try it myself since i don't use Ubuntu 24.04.

First of all, thanks for everyone's help.

I installed the flatpak version, it's much more practical.

Also you may try to run AppImage with --no-sandbox flag.

Code:
./Trezor-Suite-25.10.1-linux-x86_64.AppImage --no-sandbox

P.S. Using --no-sandbox can make your machine vulnerable especially if it is already infected.
I was running it with "--no-sandbox" via console, and it works. But it's annoying to run it from the terminal every time and as you said, it can be insecure. Thanks anyway.

I tried the https://askubuntu.com/a/1511655[]first option and it worked, thanks man!

I previously installed the Gear Lever software downloaded from the KDE Discover store to manage appimages aplications. Now, appimages only open with it. I actually kind of liked it. Oh, and I can run appimages without it now, just by double-clicking.

I've tested it with Ledger Live and Trezor Suite appmages and both open without problems. They're the only example appimages I have that weren't running. Now they open without errors, both with and without Gear Lever.

I just sent all the sMerits I had: 3

Thank you so much everyone, you have no idea how much this has strengthened me. I've been having this problem for about 2 days i guess.
