Sportsbet.io Announcement on Bitcointalk Future Involvement

Hi All,

Sportsbet.io's parent company, "The Yolo Group" has made a decision to restructure the whole business to focus solely on regulated markets going forward.

This means that Sportsbet.io, Bitcasino.io and Livecasino.io will be pulling back operations on all marketing spend and for us.

As a minimum, this means leaving the Bitcointalk forum at the end of this month, and pulling back other areas by the end of the year.
some of you maybe aware that the LC, SB, BC Signature Campaigns have all finished up.

This has put me out of a job, I will finish up on November 10.
Unfortunately, this also means the 7 year partnership with one of Bitcointalk's best Signature Campaign managers, JeremyPWR does come to a end October 31.
JeremyPWR has been brilliant, many thanks mate!

For the moment, my understanding is that Sportsbet.io (and others) will keep operating on a minimal staff set until the final decision will be made on its operations.
Funds are safe, withdrawals and betting business is as per usual, and Ill be around to communicate more when I know. (even after Nov 10)

My understanding is that we will payout all the agreed sponsorship money for the SB sponsored prediction pools for 2025/2026.
I have paid most out already to the competition owners, and I will chase up remaining payments.

At Least for now, I can guarantee that the weekly Free Bets associated with those season long promotions will be paid out. After that, I do not have any further information at the moment.

We all have seen in our lifetime here on Bitcointalk that recently, things HAVE changed when it comes to Crypto Currency Sportsbooks. Governments are making it harder to operate, Countries are clamping down in many areas, and we've recently pulled our operations out of India and Japan.

This board decision has come in like a wrecking ball, and we have all been blind sighted over this.

I just recently flew to see Cro2 combo in Croatia (I paid for my flights and accommodation personally) one weekend to talk about the next few seasons of Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics Seasons.. I verbally committed to another season on the Saturday night. I left Croatia on the Monday to fly home, I was sacked on that Tuesday along with nearly 300 others.

It has been a absolute pleasure for all of us from our side to be part of this community and I'm going to be extremely sad when Sportsbet.io is not part of it.

It was a bit strange when I saw the number of employees had an update on LinkedIn regarding this.

Sad to see this. SB has always been the best here when it comes to community events. Although I haven't participated in any of the events in recent times, the community will miss them for sure.

Steve you are one of the best community support managers I've ever seen, which is evidenced by the very high standing that your sportsbet account has accrued here. You were always extremely fair and unbiased when handling complaints, accepting when customers had been wronged by sportsbet and putting it right. While also handling everyone from the highest roller VIPs to the most demanding players who wanted your attention nonstop.

You are a brilliant host, very talented at multi tasking between all the gambling brands that Yolo owned to support their marketing efforts. Hopefully there are some other casinos out there that will take note - this man is now available to take your brand to the next level and that opportunity could disappear at any second when a competitor takes him on. Reach out and hire this legend because he will help take your casino / sportsbook to the very top!

They will sing songs and write poems of what you legends did on this forum and for Sportsbet across multiple years! Some of us here literally had food on table because of you Steve and it's just painful and sad to see such a great story having an end like this one .

I think I speak in the name of hundreds and thousands of users on this forum when I say , we will all and always miss Sportsbet.io and all the memories we shared together with our community and the legendary beers in Talinn in almost 1 decade of activity.  

I also believe that somehow this is not the end of a chapter for you Steve and just the beginning of a new one!

Obviously some of us have known for a while but it’s so sad to read this. I have fully enjoyed being a very small part of the fringes of the team. It’s been a pleasure to meet so many of you in real life.

Very sad news

It would be very interesting if you make a post about the journay with promoting the casinos on bitcointalk, if you think it was worth since so many casinos come and go before they can even see any changes in the numbers and brand presence. 7 years on bitcointalk is a lot so I think it was money well spent otherwise it wouldn't have lasted this much.

@Steve, any chance to somehow find someone that could buy out just SB and perhaps continue in a similar (though smaller) capacity? Considering your experience and all of your connections here and elsewhere - it could be a nobrainer for some brands to take it over and continue running it under its original name. I'm sure you've exhausted every option already so my apologies if this feels like a utopian idea.

I thought this announcement would be exciting... but it turns out to be sad news about Sportsbet.io.

Seven years with the bitcointalk forum feels like such a short time... even though I only joined a few seasons ago and enjoyed being part of the Sportsbet.io pool.


Even though this is bad news... I still believe there is a way for SB to come back here with its unique promotions.

You said you were sacked with 300 employees which is a large number and the government will not accommodate that number in their office and will make to them to roaming around looking for jobs. This is very bad. Government is to create enabling environment for people to operate businesses instead government is using hard laws to pursue businesses away from their jurisdictions.

Yes, it may not be good news, but always remember there might still be an opportunity since Yolo.com will be going live soon.

This is really sad to here. Wait! Are we going to miss out on the Sportsbet snooker bonanza challenge. Like all of this will come to and end?
Apparently this is the third oldest crypto casino in the forum that is coming to an end. I understand if the issues they company is having with different countries is affecting their marketing.

This is really terrible news. Sportsbet has been a part of the fabric of the forum for many years now, I never actually thought there would be a point that will not be the reality.

Special recognition to everyone associated with the brand, Steve, Jeremypwr, cro2 and everyone else. That has been one very professional group.

Damn! Did not see this coming at all especially after the recent surprising changes(Pulling out of various countries). Bitcasino and Livecasino are alright, but Sportsbet.io is definitely one of the premier crypto sportsbooks out there.
