Why would a stranger suddenly message you and offer you any benefits? If an offer message comes from an unknown account, it is undoubtedly phishing. Those who believe in that offer are completely stupid. Because if you think with your own logic why would a stranger offer me something that has a lot of value.

Just control your greed and you will always be safe from these phishing scams, you don't need to prepare in advance. Just remember that no one will ever give you anything for free and if it is a stranger then it is completely impossible.

Most of the scam attempts are seen form the way newbies are set as their targets, because not everyone understands and know that the official platform or customer service representative of the said company will for any reason contacted you through their X account as a reply or message, this is the first red flag we should already suspect and see to avoid any PM requesting anything form us or claiming they are coming from the official platform as a representative, all these are lies, it does not work in such format, when they wanted to get across to us, moreover, we are also expected to follow the real official platform and not the fake one.

The world itself is no longer a safe place, people everywhere waiting to tale advantage of you all the time and the internet should be expected to be worse because they hide their faces and come looking for your vulnerability. Strangers are the last people you want to have anything with but I accept the advice and thanks for spreading.

Anyone owning a hardware wallet in 2025 should know better, before you use your money to buy anything you must have done a lot of research first, and get used to the rules of staying safe, I am not surprise that some people still do stupid things online and it has everything to do with how and where they are raised.

If you are raised in a safe haven where dangers feel like they only happen in movies you will likely give room to strangers and someone sending you PM online will feel like normal thing.

Social media scam is one of the easiest way to scam people these days. And if one is very conversant with news online, he would be sure to have come across a lot of warnings not to listen to unknown pms through your social media accounts.

Remember that a non custodial wallet company has no business with your keys and if anyone messages you as regards that, you should avoid them at all cost. Don't click on any links what so ever that's being sent to you to avoid been hacked.

There's no legit company that sends DMs to their customers asking for the customer's private information. Even some companies normally state it on their bio saying, " We won't be the first to DM you, please ignore any DM you receive claiming to be a member of our help team. " Meaning that, for any reason, they will not be the first to send their customers DM, if the customer have any challenge, he or she can contact help team. Therefore, when ever you see any DM from anyone pretending to be the help team of any company, treat those messages like scams and never respond or share any of your personal information or sensitive information with them because the legit company that the scammers are always claiming to be will never send you DM to ask for your personal information.

Scam rate in the crypto field is alarming, everyone should stay careful and protect their coin else they’ll become a victim. The information coming from the page is accurate so everyone will be alert about any message receive, I understand this is another method to lure bitcoiners who are new to the crypto space obviously people will still fall victim and those are the ones who don’t understand the crypto space (newbie), X is another wide space people carry out scam activity from my perspective ignoring messages sent on X will be helpful general.

Did I see that correctly? One of the scammers has a blue checkmark from Twitter? Or is that a trick they use to mislead users into thinking they're a legit account? If they do pay for a premium subscription, can't you report them and try to get Twitter involved and find out who owns that account? Granted, there's a chance they're using fake details to register that account anyway.

  • Treat every unknown person on social media as a scammer until proven otherwise.

First thing, if a company runs a real business they'll have a valid customer support that replies to, thru the email of their users for the emergencies. And there is no point in talking with the random people on twitter pretending to be a company staffs or someone else who tryna fit with you on every convo.

Also, I don’t think twitter is the right place to expect customer support too, even if they’re real.

Some dumb guys still go and trust twitter hot moms dm's for support, that’s a terrible thing for sure.

Those hot chicks who DM and ask personal details are usually just some guy behind trying to trick you. You should always be careful on that.

I love it ∞/21,000,000.

If you aren't new in the system you are surpose to know most of their dirty strategies they normally use in carrying out this their fraudulent activities. In case you are new and ignorant of their strategies this are some of their major format :

-When someone starts pressuring you in request of a vital information or what ever that's linked to your account just know you are about to be scamm.

-when you start having too much promises from a single conversation from someone you are just speaking with for the first time just walk away before falling victim.

-when someone calling you for the first time and already claiming to know ever bit of information about you, just cut off that conversation because he's just looking for a single information from you to confirm it all,  and if you're not sensitive enough to understand you just ignorantly give he the go ahead to sweep you off your funds so be wise.

Newbies shouldn't be using twitter, that place is a "go wrong county" , twitter is where everything about crypto is wrong, people will be shilling you nonsense and if you are running after fomo they will turn you into exit liquidity, there is nothing thats legit on twitter, even the influencers are all manipulation the market with fake and scam tweets.

Youtubers are all running twitter account and deceiving new investors, telling them which shit coin to buy next and along the line they all get dumped on, this us just a game of people using people, if anyone here is new they better avoid twitter and focus on Bitcoin only, avoid youtubers too because I have learned so much from them.

Last night I got busy, doing some  cleansing, I unfollow many youtubers and even on twitter, they are just too many of them fooling people, avoid them and have your own strategy.

Because they are scammers. Ive got a lot of dms from good account offering some moderator job and some roles with $1k weekly for few hours of work. Obviously this is a scam and dont ever bothered entertained more.

OPs absolutely right most wallet hacks start with social engineering, not technology failure. No legit Keystone team member will ever DM you first or ask for your seed phrase or to click a link. Always verify from official channels and remember: your keys, your responsibility. Stay alert out there as these scammers will do anything to make lure of you.

Twitter is an echo chamber of retardation. I don’t follow pump and dump news or influencer hype about shitcoins, but there’s nothing wrong with using twitter for personal use. Bitcoin twitter had decent signal a few years ago but a lot of folks either fucked off to nostr or fucked off entirely and are raising families. some of them are still there but they get drowned out in the noise.

I love it ∞/21,000,000.

If you think a stranger wouldn't message you with an offer on X then you are new to the platform. X is now more than a social place, it's now a place for marketing and promotional to get creators and freelancer. You see crypto companies goes to the dms of influencers with different offers, some group of people organize their self to promote a project and in return they give some share percentage to influencers and many more offers from private to public companies.

You are going to be surprised how a company as big as legder X account get compromised, they can use such account to coordinate this kind of attack, if you are not he type that is familiar with X, you will be the sacrificial lamb for scammers. There was a time Binance account of Binance support was compromised, it was a recent case and the scammers used the handle to launched a meme coin, guess that coin did 400x in seconds before the news was debunk to be fake but some damages were done under that minutes, be inform if you are not informed.

No genuine business would ever DM you first. If they did, then assume it's a 100% scam attempt. Legitimate companies have their own official websites, channels, emails, and  social media handles,  if they had any announcement to make to their customers/users, they'll use those methods, certainly not some random unsolicited messages. It's already suspicious enough. As for links, I would straight out delete and block if anyone did that! I have encountered these scammers too many time to realise that it's best to avoid them from the very beginning. Some may still try to feed their curiosity. I wouldn't take that risk.

Be careful on X if you are a keystone hardware wallet users, while some will say that this is unnecessary, known that it is not everyone that's as smart as you are, many newbies still swims into the  forum all the time so I believe this is important.
Newbies keeps on joining the forum, so whenever we discover any scam strategy, we should try and post them here, higher rank might already be aware of the strategy, and they might be saying it looks cheap, but we should know that we have newbies here, so they should be aware also. Some scam strategy are cheap, but scammers are still using it, and they still defrauding people.

If anyone send you PM on twitter saying they are part of keystone wallet team they lied. Do not click on any link sent to you by any stranger. These people are now after one of the most secure hardware wallet in crypto space, they will remain weak only if you don't give them an helping hand.
If a random person message you on twitter or other social media, then you should know that they are likely a scammer, if you can ignore them, it’s better you do that, and if you receive any link from anyone, it’s better you don’t even click on the link. Make sure you don’t provide any one with your private information.

  • Someone messages first for an investment, it is a scam;
  • Someone pressuring you to make a payment with time limit, it is a scam
  • Invest 1 and get 2, you have been scammed
  • Treat every unknown person on social media as a scammer until proven otherwise.
Those investment offers usually come with the promise of huge returns that will attract greedy people. The majority of those who fall for investment scam were enticed by outrageous profits.

These scammed can pretend to be relatives, hence it is important to always pay attention to details. They might be strangers pretending to be close relatives, so you would have to be cautious even when you are dealing with someone you know. This is because their email or social media account might have been compromised.

The world itself is no longer a safe place, people everywhere waiting to tale advantage of you all the time and the internet should be expected to be worse because they hide their faces and come looking for your vulnerability. Strangers are the last people you want to have anything with but I accept the advice and thanks for spreading.

Scammers are very intelligent; not only newbies but even those who are professional get into their victim sometimes, although most times it’s newbies that they always have problems with because they don’t have the sufficient knowledge to overcome anything a scammer will tell them; rather, they will take it and work with it.

However, knowledge is key to success, and that's why even professionals are looking for knowledge, adding to what they have before, because the more things get updated, the more scammers become vigilant, looking for ways to see that they scam people.

Why would a stranger suddenly message you and offer you any benefits? If an offer message comes from an unknown account, it is undoubtedly phishing.

The problem is that they almost perfectly mimic the official channels, and for a newbie, or someone who's somehow inattentive, it's difficult to distinguish the differences and quickly realize it's a scam. Especially when you're on your smartphone, you're paying attention to so many other things that you're unlikely to notice anything strange at first, and by then, it might be too late.
