Criminals use everything they can if they see those things are helpful for hiding their crimes and money flows. Bitcoin is not the only thing used by criminals so it's very unfair and inaccurate to accuse Bitcoin as it was designed and launched just for serving criminals.

It actually doesn't matter what type of technology was introduced or not, the good, the bad and the ugly, would always find ways to use them to their advantage, so why do we think Bitcoin as a crypto currency of value wouldn't be exploited by the good, the bad and ugly but in this case criminals, for their benefits as well?

One of the reasons why a government like the U.S Treasury own Bitcoin is from money laundering claims that were confiscated, thus they offer regulation as a control tool to make Bitcoin and other cryptos legal and used for transactions still, both within and outside the country,  because they can monitor the Blockchain network and centralized exchanges and still track, probe and research to know who and where such amounts are coming from or going because of criminals using it to hide funds.

BTC is not a privacy coin, it has a transparent blockchain. There is also no privacy at the protocol level for BTC, for you to achieve privacy using BTC you need to use privacy tools like mixers and CoinJoin implementations. I will ask a simple question, is harmer a form of tools for criminal activities, you could say No, but the answer is yes.

It is the narrative the government has been pushing because of their fear of Bitcoin. Fiat gives them so much power. They can use it to freeze your money whenever they choose. Privacy is an integral part of bitcoin and for the sake of how it helps keeps users a bit anonymous, it is something that is a good thing but the other side of the issue is the fact that with privacy comes the possibility of an abuse which is what criminals are taking advantage of and are using it to there advantage in a negative sense.

there are evidence that people have abused the fact that bitcoin promises privacy especially in the process of theft and kidnapping but that is not just a bitcoin related issue alone. criminals are criminals because they always try to take advantage of systems to their advantage. the fact that some people are abusing a good thing does not make it bad.

To be honest, every major tech that has been released always have cyber criminals using them... Take for example email which was supposed to be a way of communication, but has also be hijacked by scammers and used for phishing.. Bitcoin isn't the problem but the people using it... You know why most criminals who use bitcoin get caught?  Because they are just terrible at operational security.  They keep using the same addresses, dont properly use mixing services or skip them entirely, and link their digital wallets to exchanges.  That open nature of Bitcoin?  Thats actually what makes it a terrible choice for sophisticated, long-term criminal activity when you compare it to cash.  Because cash is genuinely untraceable and doesnt leave a public record.

I believe that if there are still criminals using Bitcoin to commit crimes, they are most likely criminals who are not truly familiar with Bitcoin. Because with sophisticated tools, Bitcoin transactions are much easier to trace than fiat currencies.
Criminals existed before Bitcoin existed, and I believe criminals still prefer using cash because of its completely anonymous nature, making it difficult to trace once the proceeds of crime have changed hands unless the perpetrator is identified through other means. Are they telling me that there was no criminal activity before bitcoin was created? Before bitcoin was created, which currency were they using then? We all know even bitcoin as created there was criminal activities, and fiat currency were used then, so why is it that people are not condemning fiat currency, but they are just against bitcoin, and they saying crazy things about bitcoin.

If I remember correctly, the anonymity associated specifically with the Bitcoin cryptocurrency is called pseudoanonymity. Because these transactions are publicly visible, and since it's clear whose wallet it is, it's possible to determine who owns it. This is completely different from, for example, anonymous cryptocurrencies like Monero or Zcash, which for some reason have recently seen a sharp rise in price.
