Did Theymos make an adjustment recently?

Well before now anytime I'm not able to make use of my PC to surf the forum and post I usually make use of my mobile device and recently I noticed a couple of changes in the posting area in terms of font size. Normally regardless of if I'm making use of desktop mode or normal mobile mode on my mobile the font was way larger compared to now the viewpoint is quite smaller.

Now don't get me wrong this isn't actually a complaint because I kinda even prefer it more in that it gives me a much bigger feel more like I'm still on my laptop. Anyways my question still remains did the admin make any adjustments? Because I also checked and nothing changed in my font settings.

Did you check if your browser is zoomed in?
On mobile you can zoom in or zoom out on your browser this will make the text and everything in it bigger, especially the viewpoint.
Because I just checked my mobile now, and nothing has change, fonts still normal as usual.

I’m posting from a mobile device too and perhaps I may not have noticed the changes you are talking about but seems theymos actual was working on something in the forum, because I noticed that while I tried to open the forum I noticed there was seconds I couldn’t access the forum then,I refreshed and it came back, that usually happens when admin is making an adjustment.

Edit: I feel like I didn’t express myself well enough but if you understand then you understand “like the famous quote says, I don’t have time to explain”

I haven't noticed it to be honest. I'm thinking of 2 possible explanations (actually 3):

1. the changes aren't noticeable and it's kind of an illusion (I doubt it).
2. you changed your browser, or the browser got an update.
3. theymos indeed changed something, or updated some library which caused a difference in mobile screen viewing. For instance, a JS upgrade could be responsible.

​I have not noticed this even as I usually switch from mobile to desktop all the time, but let me ask a question: Do you, in anyway, change your mobile device or the browser you use when accessing the forum, because I know the view which I get from accessing the forum while using my iOS through Chrome browser is not the same view I get while using my android device to access the forum through same browser.

I use two different browsers to log in the forum and what I noticed is that they have different view in terms of the appearance and my eye was even seeing something related to different font sizes, appearing on the first browser as big while on the other browser more smaller, if I may add to this, I think sometimes if you also have your brower updated, something similar may occur from how you view the forum, aside that, I don't think theymos made some adjustments anyway.

@OP, try using a different web browser application to access the forum and confirm if the font size is still the same on both browsers or not. If it remains the same on the second browser (as on the first browser) that you are testing it on, that means the admin made a change in regards to the feature you are talking about but if there different display and don't size on both browsers, it means there's no changes made but the browsers are responsible for the feature you are noticing.

I don't think I noticed anything like that from my end, so it could be the browser's feature.

I haven't noticed any changes.
Go to archive.org and search for bitcointalk.org there. It will give you many old snapshots of the forum and you can easily compare them with the current version of the forum.

Maybe, your browser has been updated automatically without your notice and it has some different settings now.

Op it is from your browser. This has happened to me once and I tried to cross checked the issue in the particular device but the situation was remained the same so I have to change the device and everything became normal. In my case what I noticed was, the particular device I was using it to login changed the font size but if I am using another phone everything was normal, I asked a friend to checked it for me everything was normal.
I formated the device and installed everything new and as I login the font size was the same change. So I sold the device and bought new one. Op change device and see.

Before I go further.. did you in any way update your browser?
If yes then you should know that the changes could come from your browser instead of the forum, although you could be right but I didn't notice the change as the font size remains the same from my ends and nothing changes.
But however, if theymos makes an adjustment then fine, it's the betterment of the forum and people with mobile devices can now view it very well than before as you may have said.

Although everyone has shared their own opinions. But I think here are a few things. First of all, if you are using Google Chrome, you may have accidentally zoomed out your page.

Another thing I think is that you may have done something with the display settings of your mobile. Maybe you have reduced the size of your display. If you have done this, just reset the display settings.

Sometimes I feel the words are a little blurrer but I attributed it to being my eyes
But it may seem like it had to do with a change since another user just noticed it.
Or again could be my eyes.

I personally didn't notice any changes, at least not in the browser that I always used to access Btt. I am both desktop and mobile user.
Btw, do you use any 3rd party extension on your mobile? Say for example, the one that resizes BTT, "Bitcointalk Mobile friendly". Or do you directly use the forum without any resizing. If it's the 2nd, then how to you even do that! It's to hard to navigate the forum in that way!

Note I recently installed another mobile browser. There the sizes were a little different, they didn't match at all. One had slightly bigger texts and one didn't. Maybe it's a browser related thing.

Not really buddy! Perhaps the reaction of the forum which I’m talking about is some I have witnessed few times especially when it’s not just me alone but the forum entirely, that’s the only time I had experienced it, yet I don’t think I know how to explain the experience just know that it’s not my first experience with that, it only happens when the error is from the forum end and not my personal device.

Well you do have a point it is possible I had a browser update that I may have not noticed nevertheless thanks for this heads up. I'll check out the archive area to see what I can find.

I use my mobile for the majority of my posts, and I didn't notice anything like this.
I usually post using Safari for mobile, and everything is normal.
Also trying with Chrome for iOS, I am not able to reproduce your issue.

Unlike you, I often use my mobile device, having my keyboards compact and right in front of me and I haven’t seen any changes on the display. Everything has been the same for at least 6 months. It’s worth noting though that different browsers come with different displays and haven’t been so used to a browser or long term usage of your PC, you might come back to the mobile version and have things a lot different, it’s really nothing.

I don't think Theymos adjusted anything here because if he did, everyone will see the effect and not just one person. When I started with this forum, I complained about the tiny font size since I use my mobile phone too. My friend helped me adjust my font size so it would be bigger. Never knew that such feature exist. I believe that you must have adjusted your font unknowingly for you to have the font size you now have currently.

Yes, your browser got updated and it is not using the chromium that browsers like Chrome is using.

There are many browsers that have the desktop way when you want to type in the text box. Tor has desktop version for it, Duckduckgo has it. I still know at least 3 other browsers that have it and all also have dark mode.

For example, on Tor browser, click three dots at the top right corner, and choose "Desktop site", you will have a smaller text font size like on computer. If you don't choose it, Tor browser will show you a bigger text font size, that is annoying with me.

I am not sure about other browsers but likely they have similar options.

Perhaps browsers make as user friendly text display option on mobile devices but personally I don't like it.
