Android users have plenty of quality wallets, but this one might be interesting for iOS users since the availability there is somewhat limited.

According to the announcement, Bull Wallet can be connected to a personal node, and it can function as a Bitcoin-only or multi-currency wallet. They claim there is no tracking or data collection. For now it can only function as a companion app for Coldcard, but they plan to release support for other popular hardware wallet brands in the future. Users can also send and receive payments via Payjoin, and the developers seem to have developed a unique backup scheme called Recoverbull, which is still in the works.

Their timeline for the future looks interesting:

- Multisig and miniscript
- Nostr-based chat
- LN integration

Since it's a self custodial and no-KYC wallet, I assume the exchange option, which is showing on the display of the wallet preview, should not be functioning yet because the BullBitcoin exchange I know about is not KYC-free; you need to pass basic KYC before you can be able to use the buy crypto option through the card or bank payment option.

I installed Bull Bitcoin wallet few days ago for testing just because they are supporting Liquid Bitcoin.
What I am interested is comparing it to Aqua wallet for converting Bitcoin mainnet to Liguid Bitcoin, and vice versa.
I can't find information what they are using in the background for this swaps.

However, I would stay away from their Bull Bitcoin exchange that is integrated inside wallet and can ask for KYC at any time and for any reason!

I had come across this wallet before, but never paid much attention. However, it has some features that I appreciate, such as BIP-85 and layer 2 support (LN + Liquid). Interesting, I'll give it a try.

They created both wallet and exchange, so I see clear reason why they added this, and they probably had to comply with strict regulations in Canada.
I would probably do something else, but nobody is forcing people to use their exchange.

Nothing other than conveniences, I suppose (and unfortunately, a lot of people value this more than security). The number of instant exchange services on the market suggests that some people prefer them to opening an exchange account to trade their coins. Looks like everyone requires KYC, though, so it's no surprise they might ask one too.

Ignorance makes many see no risks of KYC and then looking at the fact that they often want something, moving with social norms, this is often not an issue until a data breach cost them or someone they know something.

Just updated my bull wallet IOS version and notice auto swap have been enabled by default which I have to reconfigure and turned it off, the default target amount is small and could easily be reached if someone don’t check on the setting you could wake up to see the rest of your bitcoin which exceeds the balance-swapped.

I hope the wallet team will correct the name before phishing attackers seize the opportunity to lure the wallet's new users into downloading a fake wallet, especially now that BTC has reached 20 million mined coins and online theft mostly targets BTC holders.
