Funny how it works sometimes, right? The games I feel most confident about are usually the ones where I end up losing the most money. Like in sports betting.. I’ll see a matchup, feel like I’ve got it all figured out, then boom, lose big because I was too sure and placed a larger bet.

Always of course, I've learned that in gambling especially in sports betting that I don't expect much no matter how confident I am in that bet since I've experienced a lot of "sure win" bets but ended up losing and just like what you've said, whenever you're not expecting it and that's the time you are going to win big/jackpot. Maybe it doesn’t work that way for me because I wasn’t lucky with big multipliers, or on the contrary, I was lucky in the games where I felt more confident. And even in those games where I’m more confident, I don’t bet too much because that’s part of risk management. As practice shows, it’s precisely the discipline in following risk management that helps avoid big losses. And if you see that this approach works for you in slots, then just do the same in betting, I think it’s not that difficult.

I experienced that too but not too frequent since most of my high confidence bet actually win but shit always happened that even my 1.1 bet lose and destroyed my parlay bet.

But this losses is very rare to happened and I think slot game losses is still much worst compared to my sports betting high confidence bet failure.

For me, I can’t gamble if I don’t have confidence. I mean, when I bet on sports, I make sure I’m familiar with the game I’m betting on and that I believe in my own skills. But it’s kind of sad because that confidence doesn’t always translate into profit. I end up losing more since I tend to bet big just to make it exciting ,I think most sports bettors can relate to that feeling of wanting bigger action compared to small slot bets.

In slots, I can start with a bankroll of $20 and that’s already enough. But in sports betting, I usually start with $100.

I think that's just how the world works, and the luck that you may have with sports betting, compared to pure luck games, is just big. As far as gambling is concern, it is what it is. I don't take it to heart, whatever happens.

Gambling is about happenstance and that's why we get confused when bets that we are suppose to win either because of the analysis that builds your confidence, fails. And the bet that we don't look up to comes out winning and you regret not going all in with huge stake. I tell you the next time you increase your stake thinking you will hit it big, the reverse becomes the case. I have learnt to take my decision and not regret it.

Right and still boils down to what gambling is, it's the unknown. And even if we are confident in our bet that we are going to win, somewhat or something, it will messed up that we are going to be stun and we can't really believed that's happening to us.

Not just in sports betting, it's most evident in card games too. When you 'all figure' it out that you are going to win in the next black jack, suddenly it changes or the dealer got 21 and beat your 'sure win' of 20.

I know right. That's one messed up situation. I have this moneyline bet before which I'm confident it would win as the team are a heavy favourite. I mean, I needed that small amount of winning to add some value to the money I was saving for something. And then, boom, it went south. The favourite team got upset by a very weak team, and it was a blow out. That's one of the most tragic gambling story of my life lol. It was the opposite of luck that struck me that time.

It is one of the trait of a gambler base on what I see. I mean why will you gamble when you don't have to confidence to see. Regardless if the game is strategy base or luck base games. Even in slots, every reel and spin, you are confident that you might hit that bonus and win big money. So I do understand the point of the OP. What I have observed while gambling is that when expectations are high, any bet that didn't goes in your favour is very painful because you never expected it to happen that way, but if you gamble on the bigger odds to win, though you might be hopeful, but deep down you knows that the possibility of you losing that  bet are very high, so you will not be pained if the game didn't goes as planned like the smaller odds that seems like a sure game but later didn't goes as expected.
So too much confidence in those smaller odd are the reason we get pained anytime it didn't goes as planned.

It happens to me mostly in the player props. Why? It's because the stats of a player can be averaged, and it's almost sure that he will reach that number. Now, all a sports bettor needs is to drop down one the average stat of a player and that could be a sure win. Stake with just a small amount that you can afford to lose, don't allow your self confidence to make you stake with a huge amount that will affect you if you lose. That doesn't mean that there are some game that you won't be very confident about the out but always stake with small amount in case the result comes out bad. Most gamblers understand what you are pointing at it most times happen to me those game that i feel you cut my game will just enter comfortably they might even win with large goal gap but one other games i have confidence on will be the games to will eventually mess me up, and this is to also tell us gamblers that nothing is impossible, and it has also made me to learn. Most times i will have to play the teams am confident with in all betting slip and i will end up losing all at the end of the day just because of single game but believe you are sure of, so now i don't have any confident in any game since anything can happen and i don't also repeat same betting option when gambling on multiple slip.
