The "MrNata" account was created on 4th March 2024 and made their first post on 27th March 2024 Can I really hold onto my bitcoins in the future? claiming he had Bitcoin and was seeking advice whether to sell or hold.

For no logical reason, instead of engaging with the members that posted in his thread, his second post was made in the [CHALLENGE] Run A Bitcoin Node: 14 Days To 14 Merits because they could get 14 merits for posting node details.

After that there was an attempt at the pizza contest as well as posts about cricket. The pumpkin contest was another one.

He made one reply in the Can I really hold onto my bitcoins in the future? thread only to claim he knew what to do and never posted there again. Not the behaviour of someone practically begging anonymous strangers to give him advice on his alleged Bitcoin hoard and then for him to ignore the advice as he goes around trying to get merits running a node and to enter the pizza contest.

There have been gaps between posts. Having said that, the last 20+ posts show he is trying to rank up as soon as possible. The recent posts seem to be made in a different style to the earlier posts and seem to deliberately elongated as though to give the impression they are made after a well thought out process.





In the last 120 days he sent 6 merits to the Platinumys account that was already tagged as suspicious by lovesmayfamilis and received 3 merits from the Just Common account (that I had created a thread about). He also received 2 merits from AirtelBuzz and that is another account that has suspicious behaviour.

On top of that, he sent 2 merits to the synchronym account. It is an account that already received a tag from me for being created on 27th May 2023 and entering the pizza contest on 28th May 2023. How many newbies join a crypto forum to enter a pizza competition rather than to discuss Bitcoin?

The claims MrNata made about wanting to post in the forum to ask advice about whether he should sell or hold his (alleged) Bitcoin instantly developed in to seeking merits by posting in the 14 day 14 merits challenge and then the pizza contest along with some posts about cricket

Anyway, MrNata returned after being away from the forum for 12 months. Between October 2024 and September 2025 he made zero posts but returned with the Investing in Bitcoin or physical trading? in September 2025 asking (one again) what to do with his (alleged) Bitcoin and after that he has tried hard to rank up with his posting patterns.

A look at the merit history from BPIP shows more suspicious merit exchanges:





The bitcoin_mining account is part of the merit abuse and that account has been tagged by myself and lovesmayfamilis.

The Essential10 account is tagged by icopress as being a spammer.

The Fuso.hp account is flooded with merit abuse:





The Lidger account is flooded with merit abuse:





When adding the cryptoWODL and Ricardo11 accounts (that have already received tags), it looks even worse. The accounts that are giving merits to each other indicate a much bigger problem with merit abuse. The farm seems to be extensive.

The Just Common account is there. The 2Pizza410000BTC is in the midst of the merits too. I created a thread Which accounts seemed to register in time for competitions including Pizza Day? that involved him in the past.

Though I understand the lure of receiving Bitcoin for posting via campaigns is too good an opportunity for some people to pass (either because of their unfortunate financial situation or because of pure greed), we still have a responsibility to tag accounts that have suspicious behaviour.

You are on the right path, JollyGood, but you missed some other accounts as well. There are huge alt farms, and I believe you will find a couple more accounts that belong to my local thread. These abusers have been around for a long time, and they have been warned multiple times with posts in local threads, and some of you have left neutral feedback on their accounts. Now it is time to bring them together and smash them in the face.

The recent trend is to pretend to be from other countries and post on other local boards, so they don't get connected to the alt farm. We found at least two or three accounts that claim to be from Nigeria and the Netherlands, but the reality is that they are from my country.

It's time to connect more dots.

Nice find! This Fresh Farm Account aka new blood by a certain manager is easy to get spot because they boast the merit quantity that typically acquire to merit spam thread.

They are acting as newbie with curiosity on Bitcoin which is the sweet spot of merit source and other same local user with high merit.

Repeat process and they have an army with high SMerit member that can farm a bunch of account that can occupy a whole signature campaign.

There’s a bunch of these user on Rollbit campaign too. All of them has same pattern of getting merit just like the user listed above.

While I agree that merit abuse shouldn't be tolerated, I am not so sure that many really care. It's already been stated that people can pretty much do whatever they want with their merits with the exception of selling them. I try to not hire accounts in a campaign if they have a neutral for merit abuse, but the neutral doesn't mean no manager will hire them. I guess case by case basis but sometimes a manager might give a user a spot based on post quality even with the neutral and fill a spot as they are trying to fill a campaign and we get lots of shitty applicants.

Suddenly woke up, posted 10 posts in last 3 months, neutral trust for spamming, postbursters, neg trust, only posts on bad boards(subjective opinion), or whatever. We want a campaign to fill and have limited participants to choose from. I refuse to hire most of these types but have let a person or 2 with neg trust in based on their reputation here.

These accounts are engaging in the activity most likely because if they can get 10 accounts in campaigns they can make 500-1000 dollars a week. Pretty tempting no matter where they are from, but even more tempting if from poor areas of the world.

IMO as long as there is proof the accounts are connected, a red tag wouldn't bother me any.

They registered the account on August 19, 2025, and they posted like this in push up thread at their third post for the forum on the very next day.

I am very happy to join this challenge today as I have been finding it difficult to engage in any exercise repeatedly or daily. I can now try this pushup exercise even though I am not experienced in it. I was able to do 15 pushups today even though I feel so exhausted after doing the pushups.

I noticed the post by lovesmayfamilis where it was mentioned that they are using different local boards trying to rank up. A number are unfortunately from Bangladesh that are trying to create misdirection by pretending to be from other countries. Eventually they will slip up but until then, I suppose it is for others to discover and tag them

As for the rest of what you wrote, I am 100% sure there are other accounts that are connected this to above list. Over time, more accounts will be exposed and at the same time the account farmers will create or buy more accounts.

If you see any account that you deem worthy of a tag, you should feel free to leave the tag whether anybody does or not. As long as your tag is justified, you took the correct course of action.

IMO as long as there is proof the accounts are connected, a red tag wouldn't bother me any.

With potential hundreds or thousands of USD$ that could be made per week by operating an account farm, it is clear there is a massive attraction to signature campaigns. In order to get to that stage, they need to have an appropriate rank and for that they require merits. Without merit abuse they will build up the account very slowly but by engaging in merit abuse they expedite the process. If they are from poor countries where $200 per month via campaign payments is a life-changing amount of money, the incentive is there for us all to see.

If you look at some of the accounts that are enrolled in campaigns and then look at the campaign manager, you would probably conclude the campaign was probably operating the account. In most cases, any other explanation would seem to be rejected. With that in mind, I am fairly certain at least one campaign manager has enrolled an alt-account presently or in the past but that is something to discuss on another day.

Doing this in the early stages, once they've joined your thread, is quite difficult... Their actions are quite cunning: creating a new account, they participate in push-up threads and pumpkin and pizza contests, or copy links from Twitter to a thread about El Salvador and the MSTR company, where they also receive a ton of merits. Then they repeat a thousand times how useful and necessary it is to invest using DCA and receive 14 merits for participating in your thread. Some risk not being noticed by nutildah in the WO thread. In fact, increasing rank has become quite easy these days, and experienced "newbies" easily create several accounts for themselves, after which they begin "mutually assisting" their alternative accounts by exchanging merits in local communities.

Sometimes it feels like we're fighting windmills.

A more apt way to handle this could the following: you allow them to complete the challenge over 14 days but instead of giving them 14 merits you can inform them they are suspected of being part of an account farm therefore they will not receive the merits.

You should consider adding something in the OP of your thread to cover that aspect of the challenge, that you will deliberately allow suspected cheats to complete the challenge but will refuse giving merits as a way to dissuade them from using more farmed accounts in future.

After several accounts make it to day 14 and do not receive merits, it will work as a deterrent for puppeteers and account farmers. They will conclude it is not worth their time to use other accounts as they too could be refused the merits at the end of the challenge.

Perhaps the whole thing needs to be redesigned? I don't see much benefit if someone synchronizes a full node for 14 days and then shuts it down or deletes it right away. Actually it is a net negative for the network as it is using up bandwidth for unproductive reasons. Perhaps somehow extending it to proof that it's been running over a longer period of time or something in that direction? This is very different from your LN challenge as that does lead to learning, it is much more difficult. The node challenge is easy to repeat with alt accounts as long as you don't connect them with something stupid like addresses. 

I wish that signature campaigns made it mandatory to have a Bitcoin Node. Everyone would be better off.

Sounds like a good idea, leaving the floor open for every member certainly increases the chances of these farmed accounts participating. Although this may not completely keep them out, but I believe it’ll go a long way in reducing the number of farmed accounts flooding the thread, I mean that’s the best you can do right? Cos the truth is that not all suspected accounts there are actually part of a farm and it’ll be difficult to really tell which is and which isn’t, except you’ve got tangible evidence against the account. So implementing a stricter rule may not only flush out the guilty ones but also a few innocent ones. This will not only keep farmed accounts from participating but also keep innocent ones out too, and we all know how much this is contributing to the network too.
