The need for academic education in Nigeria.

For a country like Nigeria, education is highly essential for personal growth, and for the economic development of our country Nigeria. Acquiring education has numerous advantages, some people think we main purpose of being educated is to gain employment, it is beyond that.

There are types of education, and all are geared towards personal and economic development of a country and they are:

1. Formal education:which involves going to school to attain academic qualifications.

2. Informal education: which you acquire from home, personal studies etc.

3. Vocational studies: This involves acquiring a particular skill or business training in your area of interest.

There are reasons why we need to be educated and they are as follows:

Education will enable you to develop yourself personally, enabling you to make informed decision and be able to solve challenges confronting you.

Education will create awareness within an individual, and close the gap of inequality between the educated and the uneducated.

When someone is educated, this can help in increasing your earning power, and gives you the opportunity of making financial advancement and thereby reducing poverty in ones home.

Education can eradicate the feeling of inferiority complex, and inequality among counterparts and enable you to interact and associates with any caliber of people responsibly.

Conclusively, when one is educated, your behavior and mindset as an individual is renewed, education enables transformation of a country, society and communities, and other numerous opportunities.

Without been told education is the main essence of life, without education as a person you are almost half dead. Education stands us out in the society, education enlighting you about all you need to know as a human being that you are, furthermore education play a crucial role by enble you to be able to read and write, Speak good english and also relate and associate with differs set of people's across the globe, what more will I say are the benefits of education? even we in the forum education is also playing a vital role in us by making it easy for us to read, write and share information among our self very easy and understanding.

 Therefore, any nation that doesn't take educational system serious is simply heading toward backwardness because education is the only pathway to the growth of any nation.

See I believe school is the key to knowledge and a greater future  but then in this our country  I doubt it  Because right now there are some many graduates everywhere without work. There was a book I read i think I have forgotten the name in the book the author  said school gives you knowledge, at the same time limits your knowledge. In the sense that if you focus on only school  my brother  you might end up having one or two jobs that they will be paying you 25k in a month Like seriously how will that even reach you to rent a house in this our country , that's whyIf you observe right now the richest people in the world yeah they went to school but most of them didn't make it because of school  they made it because of the skills they have, like technical, electrical, or art.
The thing is that most times even when we know the truth  we still fail to believe it. School is not a scam ,school doesn't have any disadvantages. The one thing school does is to lead you down one straight road  making you focus on one direction alone That's why it's advisable as a youth to always find something you are good at and explore your potential on it and break through your limits. Because life is all about planning and When you plan your future definitelyy you will achieve greater things. That's just it.....

No reason watin you Dey see for social media o, there are a lot of scholars out there, even doing miniature jobs because them no really get where to practice watin them don learn.

Your thread give me mix feeling as though, Nigerians no Dey educated when, I Dey very sure say, plenty Nigerians don go through school and many are still in the process, even those vocational guys way Dey do skill acquisition too.

Check the records on people way Dey graduate from school yearly, the influx go shock you but still, no where to practice.

There’s nothing wrong with the thread though I will just say what op trying to pass is the important of education , maybe the title of the thread is somehow , cause the tittle made it to sound like we don’t have education we country. But that’s not true though cause we Nigerian don’t play with education just like you said though some folk will call school scam ( which is true to some extent ) but doesn’t mean education is scam , and the reason school is good you are going to learn a lot not from your tutors only but from your fellow students or individuals too .

Nigeria is one country that has a very good percentage of literacy level in the entire West Africa and the subs Sahara region, however this literacy level has not really metamorphous into their governing system, an educated society like Nigeria should be advancing in technology and other means of human endeavor, but yet we are here today still having glitches in our electoral system, our governing system has totally collapsed and some of the leadership positions if not all are manned by so called educated people. So far education has not given us the desired results we need in our governing system and that tells us that it is more about our character than our education, education has its role to play but our character has a major role to also play in building a society.

I totally believe that basic education is very important to everyone. We don't need to over emphasize on the importance, because it plays a lot of role in human life.
Firstly education helps you fit into the society,  it helps you interact better with othe people and it also give you the opportunity of improving yourself.
