Trump can decide to do anything; it's no longer news that he can wake up and increase the tariff to whateverhe wants. It's no longer a question of if he can do it or if he can't. China and America are two big names; their war will affect both greatly. I don't know if Trump thinks he can easily make Xi Jinping bend to his rule through this tariff increase.

I'd rather calling it as a blackmail from trump. However, i'm seeing this as a circus by him. Why? He stated would impose 100% tariff on nov 1 if China was not making a trade deals with them. on a serious not it kinda seems like Trump really wants to put pressure on China again. since he came to power this second term he is just bent on using tough trade moves to get attention or push for deals with different countries but actions like this always have side effects!! especially for global markets like crypto which is as fragile as an egg. honestly if this trade fight keeps going, it could cause more tension and uncertainty for both countries and the rest of the world will feel it too because China is not ready to back down.

It happens all the time and I think the intention of Trump is to manipulate the market because he see some movements every time he do this act. Once news fades out and he's been cornered, Trump entertain negotiation talks towards China again to settle the mess he created.

That's why people better not to make those call as a big deal because it doesn't bring any good help if they panic. Also they provably end up losing their money if they keep panicking and listen to those manipulative actions done by this politicians who usually want to power trip.

Realistically Trump with the power of the Federal government can impose all tariffs he wants against any country on the planet. But with China is different... People tend to forget Chicks is the biggest commercial pattern of the United States, so those tariffs directly affect competitivity of the country when compared to other asian countries, like India or Vietnam.
Trump basically would be forcing American companies and their offices to move out of China and relocate their operations to other places where there are no tariffs.

Though, Trump is delusional if he believes American companies will move back to the United States, American workers are too expensive for them to do that.

I'm no longer surprised by what Trump does because it's obvious that he uses the tariff war to manipulate the market to make a profit, and this kind of tactic feels

What we should be doing is to continue to build a thick skin to be able to withstand whatever trade war that may generate from nations activities such as the US and China crisis that have affected every other stock and assets.

Xi Jinping of China is also a very tough guy that Trump can’t easily make him to succumb to his request. I don’t think this trade war is going to stop anytime soon because this two nations have never been friends to one another before. It looks like they don’t depend on each other for survivals, so it won’t make any sense one side is trying to impose an outrageous tariff on them, they won’t succumb and the economy market involving this two nations in the international market will most likely suffer from this war.

The effect is not directly on altcoins but on Bitcoin, which is influenced by it, so altcoins will automatically fall or rise depending on Bitcoin.
