We shouldn’t be too quick to judge people who gamble huge amounts of money we’re not in their shoes. Some players might be high rollers because they can actually afford it, or it’s just part of their lifestyle or business risk appetite.

The true meaning of responsible gambling is pretty simple, only bet what you’re willing to lose. whether that’s $5 or $5,000, as long as losing it won’t mess up your life or finances, then it’s still within your limits. So instead of questioning how much someone spends when they gamble, maybe it’s better to remind people to stay in control, play within their means, and know when to walk away.

Well it's good not to stick you nose in other people's business, always focus more on what you are into and less of what others are doing. Anyone that gambles with a certain amount of money decided to do so based on choice, so whether it's detrimental to them or not it's up to the. But it's good to be on the safe side even without anyone telling you what to do or correcting you, gamble with an amount of money that you can afford to lose

This is where we apply this, "mind your own business". Yes, we should just think of our business and not meddle with how others gamble with their money. Whether they're doing it in a single blow or not, it's important for us to just think of how we're spending our money. Big or small for them and for us, it doesn't matter and we should only focus with how and how much we are gambling with our hard earned money. If it looks easy to them to spend $1000 in a day and have it all lose, that's what they can afford to lose and we have no care about that.

Well I actually do agree with this but some people will argue that there should be some sort of logical threshold based on the society and to an extent it makes a lot of sense just because someone one has $100,000 for example to risk doesn't actually mean it's fine for him to gamble it all away. This is one of the cases where the phrase; risk what you can afford to lose is not really applicable.

People argue alot that gambling is for fun which partially suggests a logical risk level because it is for fun.
It is up to individuals to risk what they have available and able to lose. Our bankrolls can never be the same even if we both earn the same. Someone having $100,000 is not supposed to throw in the whole balance into gambling, one can have the sum but not ready to risk it, if he decides to risk such amount to gamble then you know that such a gambler is whom we call the irresponsible set of gamblers, with bad spending habits.

Someone responsible will feel more excitement growing investment with large amount than entertaining himself by gambling.

People will always judge others no matter what. Unless you show them your entire bank account, they will never know if you can actually afford what you have been spending on. Some gamblers may gamble big but actually they can't afford it and people still think that they are rich just because they gamble all the time. Perceptions are a dangerous thing.

whether that’s $5 or $5,000, as long as losing it won’t mess up your life or finances, then it’s still within your limits.

In this case, it is important to adhere to risk management, without making large bets on your entire deposit. It is possible that someone who bets on $5,000 is risking just 1% of his deposit, just like you who bet on 5 bucks.

I don't have time to judge  people about the way they gamble because I can't throw a stone at someone that is accused of being a gambler when I also do that even though it's seldomly. Gambling is not my nature but I am mostly compelled to bet when I see my colleagues talking about their recent winnings in their staked games. I am mostly tempted to gamble so I can earn even though it's little. I do this less often when I am compelled by the winnings of others. I don't want to be a woman that is seen as gambler that is why I do restrict myself sometimes.

So instead of questioning how much someone spends when they gamble, maybe it’s better to remind people to stay in control, play within their means, and know when to walk away.
Most people gambling now don’t even gamble with the amount they can afford to lose, most of them are just so desperate to make money from gambling, and they decide to pump so much money into gambling so that they will be able to win big, which at the end if they end up losing, they will end up regretting, and some might end up doing crazy things. I have heard about people taking loan just to gamble with it. Some people main aim of taking a loan is not to gamble with the money, but they might just feel they can double the money, and will decide to place a bet with the money.
not everyone does this these traits are already exhibition of addiction and people need to know that not all gamblers are like this majority of the gamblers i would even say are responsible and knows well how to control themselves but people always make a big deal out of the ones who get addicted and make headlines of it

Everyone bets what they can afford and can handle losing. Who am I to judge? If someone likes to bet big, that's their business. I prefer to bet small amounts, and that's acceptable too. Those with better financial resources "can" do this without even feeling the weight of loss.

Before saying or criticizing players who bets huge amount of money, we should care to ask what the value of their bank roll is. Perhaps in the side of our source of earning, income rate may differ where your monthly income can just be someone else daily income. So you don't expect such people to gamble with the same amount with you. There are definitely players who can afford to place an equivalent of your monthly incomes on a single and will be normal to them.
Atleast Kenya West the superstar with his high stakes on bets. His bets usually sparks skepticism in the public and we also see how consistent he keep going even with his huge looses which means he can afford. Anyone Saying he is betting too high is just below his risk level and affordability.

Gamblers who place big bets will be always criticized by others. I guess the main issue for these people is the fact they spot another person who has big money, so it's already enough to let them disturbed. You can notice wealthy people are always criticized. Regards gambling, if it's not about judgements of irresponsible gambling and addiction, you will hear comments like: these people should be donating money to charity instead of using it to gamble.

Criticizers aren't really worried with a potential disfunctional gambler and the negative consequences implied on it. They are annoyed by the fact that individual has a lot of money under his disposal, while they have none or much less.

I agree with you... the size of the bet does not mean anything because while some  have problems if lose 50%, others might lose $5,000 and see it as completelynormal and acceptable for their standard of living... the key is self control and risk awareness, which varies greatly from person to person without this meaning addiction or irresponsibility,  it is just a matter of scale.

I understand what you mean, and I think the real problem arises when someone bets to prove themselves or to try to recoup losses, when they go beyond fun and strategy or when the feeling consumes them. Ultimately, I think what defines responsibility in gambling is not how much a person bets, but why and how they are betting, right?

We shouldn’t be too quick to judge people who gamble huge amounts of money we’re not in their shoes. Some players might be high rollers because they can actually afford it, or it’s just part of their lifestyle or business risk appetite.

The true meaning of responsible gambling is pretty simple, only bet what you’re willing to lose. whether that’s $5 or $5,000, as long as losing it won’t mess up your life or finances, then it’s still within your limits. So instead of questioning how much someone spends when they gamble, maybe it’s better to remind people to stay in control, play within their means, and know when to walk away.

That's how society is though, they are judgmental. I have a funny story about it, years ago when there was no online games yet or at least it is not as big as today, whenever I will go out with friends and gamble to land base casinos, I will always here this kind of noise. Or someone will whisper to me that this x or y person are commenting on my gambling and the money that I'm playing.

Fast forward today, those same persons are now addicted to online games and like playing everyday and when they say that they are just playing for fun. But I doubt it because they could have lost like $20 or more everyday and in our country it's already big money. What a complete U-turn.

Perhaps they're just thinking those huge amounts squandered on the gambling table could have done something good. In a poor country like ours, for example, some might think a gambler losing hundreds of millions in a casino is such a big waste. They might think those life-changing bet amounts could have built classrooms, sent poor kids to school, admitted old ill grandparents to a hospital, fill empty stomachs, and so on. Well, it's not our money. They have all the right to spend them any way they want.

We don't know their reason for using big money to gamble so we can't easily say they are wasting that money. Perhaps they can afford to use that money. If they lose, they can accept the result and not try to recover the lost money.

We could remind them to control themselves and not gamble excessively or use too much money to chase the win. Oh, they should also know that chasing the win using too big money will not guarantee they will win. But they can lose their money in shortly.

We should take care of ourselves and not just remind other people because we are responsible with ourselves. Our money that we use in gambling is in our control so we must not spend too much money in gambling.

I agree that people are free to bet any amount of money as long as it’s their own. What really matters is emotional control betting small but losing your composure is actually worse than betting big while staying calm when things don’t go your way. In the end, maintaining a good mindset is tough in any situation, and not everyone is able to do that.

I recently had experience with this, our family member, who recently had struggling and we found out that the money he used  to gamble was borrowed. It's tough.
It was the most disgusting thing imaginable. Through my own stupidity, I managed to gamble away a rather large loan, even by today's standards. The saddest thing happened when I was laid off at work. It was a real disaster in my life. Unemployed and completely penniless, with a mountain of debt and a large bank loan. Can you imagine my thoughts at that moment? Life certainly didn't seem pleasant. It almost came to a fatal conclusion. I was stopped in my tracks by loved ones who found out everything and offered to help. Without them, I don't know what would have happened to me.

Only people that always butt in on someone else business will judge someone gambling activity regardless how big he is losing.

It’s our own life choices and as long that we are not affected on his decision there’s no sense on criticizing on his gambling activity unless he is asking for an advice.

I gamble with small and big bankroll randomly but that doesn’t mean I’m already irresponsible on my expenses.

You're very correct, we shouldn't judge any gambler just because they're gambling with a huge amount that can change somebody else's life for good, we'd think that they're risking too much. I've heard about celebrities that uses amounts that are unimaginably high to me just to gamble and normally I should think that they're out of their minds but the truth is that some of them can actually afford to loose such amounts. But it'll be pure foolishness if somebody will gamble with very huge amount of money that they cannot afford to loose, if they lose such amounts a couple of times they can go bankrupt.

No, I don’t judge them. In fact, I’m impressed by how they can afford to gamble such huge amounts in just one click. Even if I could afford it, I can’t imagine myself betting $1k or more per bet. I could lose $1k or more, but that would be for an entire session or over a few days or weeks. Those high rollers who bet big have insane courage. Whether they’re gambling all their savings or not, we don’t have the right to criticize them, we’re not in their shoes, and most importantly, it’s not our money or related to them, so we’re not affected in any way.

I don't judge gamblers based on the amount they stake on a single game; $5 might be enough big money for me not to spend on a single game, but someone else can consider $50,000 as something they could also easily spend without looking back. It's indeed all based on how much the person is worth and how much they are comfortable losing without it having any negative effect on them.
