As long as they are not harming anyone, that's their prerogative to gamble. Because it is their money, so it is up to them how they will manage their funds on their gambling activities. It is not your business to worry about their financial affairs. Worry your own financial troubles.
So for me, there's nothing to worry about other gamblers because that's their business. Worry your own. Make a lifestyle check of your own. Like what you said, if they're willing to lose $5,000 then so be it. If they're willing to lose $500,000 then so be it. If their life will not get affected negatively if they lose $1,000,000 then we're not in a place where we need to give some advice to them.
